  1. There's a few set-ups over at Oople well worth a look. I'm using Fastrax 40/30 wt. oil front/rear respectively.
  2. I run blue front and red rear on my db01 if that helps...
  3. Ceramic diff balls and polishing the diff plates on very fine grit, wet, wet&dry helps stop the need for too much diff maintenance. I've not had to rebuild my diffs since I fitted ceramic balls, new plates and the 501x all metal outdrives. My old diff plates were pitted and the metal balls weren't round before I changed it all. I'm sure the plastic outdrive plates have some flex... Btw forgot to say before but that shell looks nice. You may find you need to cut out the vents on the motor side though, but see how hot the motor gets before you do.
  4. Lamborghini Cheetah . I think I'm showing my age
  5. It's true. I put a couple of o-rings from my old CVA dampers under the piston in the TRF shocks I have on my DB01, you only need to do it on the rears.
  6. Try this: http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcmanual/tt01.pdf
  7. I've bought a bunch of stuff from HK sellers. Never been stung for tax. Delivery times can be quite variable...
  8. if you have a volt/multi-meter you can check the voltage of each cell in the LiPo by checking the voltage via the balance lead. If either cell is under 3 volts then it's definitely a bad battery.
  9. My typing must be slow - beaten to it every time - by several people...
  10. The old pack is NiMH so your existing charger should work - don't get NiCD as you'll need a different charger...
  11. The battery pack second from bottom on this page: http://www.vapextech.co.uk/acatalog/copy_o..._Batteries.html looks much better value than the one on ebay it is 4x the capacity of your current pack (600mah) at 2400mah and over 3x the capacity of the one on ebay (700mah) for the same price.
  12. No GT2 doesn't have that, only adjustables are trim and throw (end point). edit: ignore me I misread I'm talking about GT2 not GT3
  13. That's only for trademarks. Patents and copyrights are not required to be defended in order for the current holder to keep them.
  14. There is only one good modern 4WD Tamiya chassis which can hold its own against the other makes - the DB01 - which comes in the form of either the Baldre or Durga, although you would be better off getting the DB01-R as that already has most of the hop-ups you'll inevitably end up buying and works out cheaper in the end. Don't exclude Ansmann from your list of possibles though. I have - well my kids have a Mad Monkey each and they're excellent value for money.
  15. +1 for used Durga. Or for non-tamiya 2wd you wouldn't go wrong with an Ansmann Mad Monkey (I got one each for my kids) and that would leave 85 quid for brushless system etc...
