  1. Hi, I'm restoring a Super Champ and needing exact placement of decals. I've tried looking on the net but everyone seems to put them in a different location. If someone has an original manual and could upload the decal pages or has an original Super Champ that you know the decals are correct according to original manual please post some pictures. Thank you.
  2. Where your connector is plugged into the battery slot on your receiver, my plug has a white wire as well and I have to use the original connector as the little metal prongs are on the connector not the reciever ill try and post some pics
  3. I'm trying to connect my Futaba radio controll system (FP-2GS) to my vintage Hotshot mechanical speed controller. On step 23 of the original instruction manual it says to cut off receiver connector as shown and connect the receiver connector to the speed controller switch wires (red to red and black to black) the problem that I'm having is my futaba reciever has a red, black, and white wire so what do I do with the white wire? ( the speed controller has a red and black wire and the reciever connector has a red, black, and white wire)
  4. I'm restoring my vintage hotshot and the rear arms are cracked I found some on ebay for the hotshot/supershot and the guy said that he was pretty sure they were vintage he said they were in a old plastic bag with a white sticker that had part # X-9008. Would this be the right part# and packaging for the original rear arms? Thanks
  5. Hi guys I'm currently restoring a vintage Hotshot and it's missing some c-clips.Were there different size c-clips used on the original hotshots I found some VINTAGE TAMIYA SMALL C CLIPS LARGE BAG RC ZA1029 II on ebay do these sound about right Thanks
  6. Hi guys I was just wanting to know a little about this car such as what motor originally came with it ect....How collectable and rare are they on a scale of 1-10.The reason I'm asking is that I have a chance to buy one in good condition and fully working with remote for $280.00 U.S...and I was just wanting to know if that was a good price?I know nothing about Marui's. Thanks
  7. I just bought a 1985 guide book off ebay that has the Hotshot on the cover.I thought it would be nice to have it to go along with my original hotshot
  8. What were the guide books that tamiya use to put out about? Did they put one out each year? Also I noticed they use to put out catalogues as well.I'm to young to remember
  9. Thats nice, man they don't make them like they use too.I bought a new Futaba transmitter for my daughters frog and it's not near the quality that these old vintage ones were,it's light weight and cheap plastic,of course i'm sure they make some good ones but you definitely going to pay for them.
  10. I was just wondering if there are any books on the history of vintage tamiyas. I have Rc magazine subscriptions, but was just wondering if there were any books out there about the old tamiya Rc cars so that I'll have something to read when away from the computer. Thanks
  11. Thanks for all the help!So a Mk3 would probably be more period correct for the hotshot? I'm definately keeping the mk5 I have. What were some other popular period correct transmitter that some of you guys had growing up with your hotshots? just curious
  12. I have an Acoms Techniplus Transmitter(AP-27MKV) I'm assuming that means MK5.I was just trying to find out a little bit about it. Where these any good and does anyone know what years this particular model was made. I'm restoring a vintage Hotshot and was wanting to know if this would have been a transmitter that someone would have used with the Hotshot? Was this particular model still around when the Hotshot came out in 1985? Thanks
  13. thanks i'll just put the silvercan in the frog
