Hi all.
Just wondering if there are any wheels that will directly fit to the Punkin.
I'd like larger and wider.
The MB ones fit, but they're too skinny.
Thanks,
Rick

Fantastic paint job!
On the subject, can anyone recommend a decent book for those who wish to learn to spray paint stuff using an airbrush?
Thanks,
Rick

Hey all.
I know very little about... well, RC really! but which motor would you guys recommend with the GII pinion? I have an unlimited ESC and i suspect the CVA's from my MB may 'drop off' onto the MP which should make it handle okay.
I'm still unsure about the torque/RPM thing.
Thanks,
Rick

That sounds like a good idea.
Have you had any probs with nylon bits?
If you have a punkin, is it modded?

I was surprised at the speed.
The Punkin is short and light giving it a great power to weight ratio.
In other words, it no slouch!

Good choice, the Pumpkin.
I heard it was a bit of an uncontrolable dog, but having taken my new built one out over the weekend i found it's far more fun and controlable than my MB.
I didn't get mine till i was 33. All those wasted years... [

Hi all.
I was wondering if it's possible to get after-market metal body mounts for the Pumpkin.
I don't know if anyone else found this, but the holes drilled in the standard ones appear to be 90 degrees out on the fronts (the R-clip fouls the edge of the bonnet) and all the holes are too low. The clips will scratch the paintwork (when i get round to painting it...)
Any thoughts or advice along these lines would be great.
Thanks

Hi chaps.
Can anyone tell me how to lock the diff on a Beetle?
Also, how hard is it to mod a Beetle to 'Super' standard?
Thanks,

With that chassis, these things look butt ugly.
Just my opinion... [xx(]

Hi chaps.
Just wondering if anyone else on the boards has tried to custom build a space frame chassis and suspension.
I'm intending to try it, but it's not quite as easy as i thought!
It's for a Monster Beetle, but the same techniques would be required for any car.
Any help or advice? [

Nuts.

Hi chaps.
Although not exactly a vintage question...
Has anyone here used Alumilite?
It appears to be a plastic stuff that can be used in a mold to make custom parts.
I was wondering if it would be suitable for wishbones on an RC car, possibly a runner.
Any insights helpful!

Hi chaps,
Thanks, Ian.
I'll stay stock, although i did pick up some spare diff gears just in case...
Buying another RC, huh?
Anyone want to volunteer to persuade my wife? [xx(]

Hi chaps,
For a Monster Beetle:
I have an Mtroniks ECO27 ESC with a stock 540 motor.
Can anyone recommend a more powerful motor that will use the ESC, or should i change it?
All advice appreciated!

Hi Jim.
Thanks for the offer, but i'll use tower. I've seen other stuff, too...!

Hi chaps.
Just wondering if there's anywhere that sells MB tyres and how much they are?
Also, the spiky bits are worn off the ones i have. Has anyone tried putting pop rivets through old tyres to give more grip?
I don't know whether this would write the tyre off or not.
'course, if i get some more then i'll just give it a go!
Thanks,

Hi MMBIB,
Just looked at the wheels on my Beetle and they are straight.
Could it be caused by loose or broken suspender mountings?
Rick
-
Hi, Renco.
Do you have a spare front body mount for a Monster Beetle kicking about?
I could do with the front mount (the upright) that has the upper shock mountings on it, too, should you have one of those spare!
Thanks,
Rick
