  1. OK I haven't been on here for a while anf for those who remember me i was into the 2WD scene, now i have converted to Scale driving as its more of a challenge. So my 2 cents worth from Australia, is this baby that I have recently built, its the honcho SCX10 kit and for driving and look excellent, it has working winch and lights and all the bells and whistles associated with hard core 4WD action Scale. and here is my baby after its first run.. we didn't do anything by halves this day!!! If you want some info on this chassis etc let me know
  2. Has anyone used a grrease outside of the Tamuya brand, that is readily available for greasing up parts? In Australia. i.e. going to Super Cheap and getting some standard grease does this work? Thanks, I just can't justify spending big dollars on little tubes of Tamiya grease so lloking for alternatives used and works.
  3. Can I just say that the results are excellent and i started apost about making the other white wheels less boring and how to do it and this is exactly what I'm looking for. So can i ask what dye you bought from Spotlight i.e. brand/type becuase I purchased some new Astrals and want to make them look this good. Also was it as simple as follow the instructions for mixing or did you make up your own concentration of dye to water etc? Thanks and good work.
  4. thanks for all your help, managed to scab two from my brother they weren't original tamiya screws but were 3x16mm with hex heads, and did the job, then i found out he gets his from RC Screws so ordered a pack of these and a box of the Sand Viper screws, cost me $25 with $8 delivery so not bad.
  5. Toowoomba, i wasn't sure whether i could use just any screw, but i thought you could only use tamiya parts, i'll look around at hardwares, but till then any help is needed i have the ball joint still just not the screw
  6. sorry let me clarify, i have had great experience with ebayers, but i have not ordered anything outside ebay, so i'm looking for a reliable internet hobby parts distributor for aussie addresses. But to further clarify, i'm refering to the Sand Viper, Mark yes this is the screw i'm looking for, it has the ball end screwed onto it, i can't find the part on ebay, and only some international distributors stock Screw bag A for the Sandviper, fusion hobbies is one. So i need help to find this screw and lots of them so i can avoid this mess, i'm having withdrawls. So i need a BA3 Screw 3x15 for the sandviper. Screw bag A. Cheers
  7. I was driving the DT-02 hard on a disused BMX track, locing everyminute of it, till it hit a nice jump wrongly and the car rolled about 8 times end over end, when it landed wheels up i noticed the rear wheel was falling outwards, upon closer inspection the rear sway bar had come loose and threw the driver shaft, into oblivion (An hours search found nothing). Anyway the culprit? the Screw in the rear sway bar came loose causing everything to give way. Well upon looking at my left over parts, no BA3 screw to re-attach it. Went online and well you can buy Screw Bag A for the DT-02, but I'm worried about the reputation of the companies. Does anyone know firstly in Australia, where i can purchase a Screw Bag A parts for the DT-02, if not does anyone reccomend a good and reliable site thats posts (cheaply) to Oz with theses screws in mind. I ordered what i thought was the right screws, from *-*ay, but after two weeks i got them and they were wrong, i put the wrong code in (stupid I know), but i have not been able to drive for this long and it is making me nuts!!! Can you help? Please think about the children... they have not been able to drive whilst dad is out of the game (stomping) its not fair!. Seriously though can someone assist me.
  8. I liked the parking part, but yeah rather bash dirt at speed
  9. where is this AWESOME weapon of mass destruction!!!!!! How can you notget excited over something that looks like this!!! I have taken everyones opinions on board and will start my project in May when i have 3 weeks holidays. Iwill definitely post up piccies as the track progresses, its nice having someone you know with a large aomount of property only 10mins drive from home... oh and who's price is a carton of Rum and Coke, God bless QLD, and God Bless Bundy.
  10. how long did you make your straight? How long is your total track, thats what i want. Also where did you put your jumps? I don't want them on the straight, I want that for the turn and burn.
  11. No, I haven't put in a topic for food to eat whilst I'm driving!!! I have however scored some land and a Bobcat!!! I have a mate who has 500acres and he has said i can build a track on it. Having never built a track, and thinking ok, this should be easy, just dig out a track of a certain shape and drive!! But i would like to make it half decent, I have access to old tyres for corners and outline and the like. So for those who have built tracks before, whats the ingredients for a good track. It must be the right design for brushless, with the ability for speed but with the tough cornering. Is there is certain rule of thumb for width? Types and heights of jumps etc. I figured most of its personal, but i also figured there might be more to it than just digging etc. So do you guys have any ideas or advice? Thanks.
  12. I have sen the part about replacing front axles/steering knuckle with RB5 but couldn't find out whether they can be bought as a whole unit or if you need to buy each part which by my calculation would be expensive. Has anyone been able to replace the axle in the standard steering knuckle of the DT-02 with an axle that has the hole pre-drilled in it for a shaft to connect a hex bolt? Has anyone been able to drill the axle with a hole in order to put the little shaft to throw a hex on?
  13. Here Here, I'm hearing you, they need to be more specific, like will fit all 2WD Tamiya's with pin fronts and 12mm hex etc, or in the manual advise dimensions that do not need deciphering. And there are some awesome tyres and rims that won't fit, and the majority of decent tyres and rims are for 4WD, its discriminating!!! Every time i see a rim or rubber i like its for 4WD not 2WD. Grrrrrr I feel your pain
  14. Tamiya (#54186) Dual Block Tires K (Rear 62/35) I like these for their tread for possible road and non slippery off road tracks, i'm wanting to know does anyone know of a set of rims that will fit these size tyres and allow me to have matching front rims to allow for the grooved tyre or spiked tyre but for 2WD buggy, no hex on front, i.e. Astral Dish etc. Has anyone used these tyres before and what are their opinions on their performance, 2WD mode only preferred.
  15. AAAAAhhhhhhh did you hear that? that was the penny dropping, so now i see, DER!!! If i get a cigarette plug with the DC plug that goes into the IMAX then i can go straight to the car, of course!!!! (See I'm an idiot) thank you, i will head to Tandy for a cord.
