Most of those convicts were born in England! [6][]

I've put some pages here: http://www.tcphotos.com/showroom_model.asp...secid=306&t= Just photos at the moment, not very good resolution. I'll email you as well. You can see my Sideways here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...646&id=2193 These are on the same chassis as the Ultima, so if you can get an Ultima manual you will have most of it. I think I might have some spare front tyres for this if you need them. Cheers, Don.

Hi Dave, I've got one I can scan and/or photocopy for you if you like. Don.

Auckland, New Zealand. But yeah - check out the "Members Map"

I like it! It's good to see a new chassis, new ideas, new design. I'm glad it's not a Bruiser. It's interesting how close this is to some of the entries in the "What Tamiya Should Make" competition. I happen to like this particular bodyset, but I hope there will be other NEW and Different hard-bodied versions of this in the future (I'd like to see a Jeep) - not just re-issues of existing bodies. As for those who don't like it - fair enough! It would be so boring if we all agreed with each other all the time.

Problem with Supershot front suspension Need help!
Bluefoot replied to Spatzel's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi Sebastian, I can't help you with the other stuff, but are these the red rings you need?: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp...=13042006035101 Email me and I'll send them to you. Cheers, Don. -
You can swap the steering to the other end. You need to swap the front and rear uprights and carriers as well. That will turn it into an M02 chassis (rear wheel drive). You will need a shorter steering rod to the servo. Have a look at the on-line manual for one of the M02 cars (Mazda Eunos, VW Beetle, Honda S800, Merc SLK, Porsche Boxter) to get the idea. If you want to keep it front wheel drive you will need a new chassis part.

I was at my LHS today talking about all things Tamiya, and the chaps mentioned that Mr Shunsaku Tamiya and his entourage had popped in for a visit a couple of days ago! (showed me his card). Seems his marketing blokes were keen to find out what the feedback is direct from the coal face. In New Zealand []. Nobody thought to mention 3-speeds or SRBs.

Perhaps the trade posting could be initiated by the seller sending the buyer an "invoice" in the same manner as a paypal invoice (maybe they could be linked). This invoice would initiate the trade-progress form being posted on the TC forum, and buyer and seller then complete each step.

Thumbnail picture not showing
Bluefoot replied to Bluefoot's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Well it seems I fixed it by going in to "edit" and reloading the first picture only. Could well be a timing thing. Don. -
Just curious as to why sometimes the thumbnail does not show on a new showroom posting. As in my new posting of my Tyrrell 6-wheeler. It shows a blank thumbnail on the home page and in my showroom, but all the pics are there when you go into that entry. I've seen other entries do this too, but they usually show as a plain beige square.

Regarding a feedback system for trades with other members. Our local auction site has what they call a "trust-web". You have a page in your profile(showroom) where you can list members that you "trust". Members viewing your profile can see a list of other members you trust, and also a list of members who trust you. There are no comments, no negatives no positives. If something like this was set up then you could get references from others that have traded with a prospective seller/buyer.

Advice needed about Porsche 911 Carerra M-Chassis
Bluefoot replied to Spatzel's topic in General discussions
I don't have the 911, but I do have most of the other M01/02 chassis cars. If the rear track is wider than the front then it will be done by offset on the wheels, like the Porsche Boxter. In fact I'm sure it uses the same wheels as the Boxter. The suspension arms front and rear are the same. There won't be any problem mounting other wheels. -
technigold in a monster beetle
Bluefoot replied to mymonsterbeetleisbroken's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I have a MB with a Technipower motor in it: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...392&id=2193 The suspension arm touches the motor, but it does not limit the suspension travel to any noticable degree. The Technigold motor is 1mm wider than the Technipower so it will touch as well, but it will not be noticable, and if you are not going to run it then it won't matter. -
Likewise. Everyday and often.

Dee, I have put a scan of that page here: http://www.tcphotos.com/showroom_model.asp...secid=306&t=

Hi Theo, The driver is correctly mounted on the body (as shown on P12 of the Black Porsche manual), and I guess this is one of the differences between the black Porsche and the standard 934. Don.
-
Well my Black Porsche has tinted windows (very faint tint). The body is black (mine is unpainted), and the driver is attached to the body. Check it out here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...128&id=2193

Black Porsche has "smoked" windows.

MEK is the acronym for the chemical name (Methyl-Ethyl-Keytone I think). You might be able to find it online - it is used for bonding joints in PVC plumbing.

I have used brake fluid on styrene bodies, but not on wheels. I've had no problems like this. I have used various brands, dot 3 or 4 I think (not sure what the "dot" rating is). Did the plastic crack because of the brake fluid? or did the fluid remove some paint which exposed the (pre-existing) cracks?
-
Not enough! I manage to get out once every couple of weeks. I can run mine from home, and I have kids to use as an excuse for playing with toys. However I spend a lot of time building things for the kids, fixing broken stuff, mowing lawns etc, and now I have just taken up surfcasting (since the weather is so hot). I'll just have to get one of my trucks set up for beach running to occupy myself when the fish aren't biteing!

I think there is a product that picture framers use that is like double-sided tape without the tape. Just a layer of adhesive. I haven't used it myself.

Hilux and Mountaineer FR hub internals?
Bluefoot replied to twisty's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Sounds like the ones on your Mounty are worn-out. They should have one-way bearings. If they freewheel in both directions then you won't get drive to the wheels in 4WD. The reason for the one-way bearings is because there is no diff in the front drive line (or the rear either). The bearings allow the wheels to turn at different rates when cornering, which aids steering.
