  1. A couple things I did to bulletproof my TXT-1 were:

Added braces between the top link mounts where they connect to the transmission. I got them from RC4WD, but I don't think they produce them anymore. It's just an aluminum plate with two holes in it, so it's not too tough to fabricate.

Replaced the rod ends. After I upgraded the motors, I started stripping rod ends like crazy, so I replaced them with traxxas 5347.

Replaced the driveshafts. Mine wore out pretty quickly with upgraded motors, so I replaced them with Traxxas Revo parts. I had to shave the center gearbox with a dremel sanding drum to clear the universal joint.

I left the original shocks also. I've never had a problem with them. Maybe just do a rebuild with some new o-rings when you get the truck.

    Good luck!

  2. I agree with The Smoothee. If it means anything at all to you, keep it. I sold a NIB Monster Beetle and the money I made selling it never made up for the nostalgia that I still have for it. Work a few extra hours, tighten up the budget somewhere else.

  3. Picked up this for what I thought was a good price. Needs a bunch of work, but it's eminently restorable.

Been on the look out for a project like this...it'll probably get a re-re now!

Nice find! What kind of work does it need? Looks like tires and a refresh on the gold plating are in order.
