Got the last shipment of Tamiya manuals and stickers from a big lot of old RC stuff I bought from a friend of mine earlier this year. Still not sure if I will hang onto it yet, but fun to look through. I've never even seen the Ligier JS9 Matra until now.

I finished assembling the chassis and test-fitted the body. I think I'm going to go with the stock livery, except I'll swap out the blue paint for yellow. The tires are dirty because I took it for a spin around the garage.

Got this in the mail on Monday.

This is one BIG box!

A couple things I did to bulletproof my TXT-1 were:
Added braces between the top link mounts where they connect to the transmission. I got them from RC4WD, but I don't think they produce them anymore. It's just an aluminum plate with two holes in it, so it's not too tough to fabricate.

Replaced the rod ends. After I upgraded the motors, I started stripping rod ends like crazy, so I replaced them with traxxas 5347.
Replaced the driveshafts. Mine wore out pretty quickly with upgraded motors, so I replaced them with Traxxas Revo parts. I had to shave the center gearbox with a dremel sanding drum to clear the universal joint.
I left the original shocks also. I've never had a problem with them. Maybe just do a rebuild with some new o-rings when you get the truck.
Good luck!

This looks great! I love that you installed the original resistor. It just doesn't look right without it!

I guess the clod is pretty ubiquitous at this point. What went wrong with the rc10 rere? I didn't really pay attention when it came out.
-
Whew! I was looking at the old version with the MSC. Long live the Clod!
I only managed to get one because my wife saved some pennies for a giftcard to Tower Hobbies.

I just took a look at the Super Clodbuster page on the tamiyausa.com site, and it's listed as discontinued. I wonder if they're working on a newer version, or is this the end?
Good thing I just ordered one for my birthday. Happy 40th to me!

I agree with The Smoothee. If it means anything at all to you, keep it. I sold a NIB Monster Beetle and the money I made selling it never made up for the nostalgia that I still have for it. Work a few extra hours, tighten up the budget somewhere else.

You've got a PM.

Started installing electronics into my M02 VW Beetle. Still need to get a receiver and a steering linkage.
I've had this model for years and never ran it! My son looked at it last night and asked if we could take it for a spin, and I thought, why not?

Hi, I'm looking for a steering linkage for an M02L chassis (VW Beetle). The rod is about 113mm long without the plastic end on it. It's part MC2 in the instructions.
Thanks!

I'm looking at this on a Samsung phone, and the text is extremely small. Otherwise, the scrolling is working. Is it the sticky header and footer that you're working on?
-
Those are some impressive results! I think I might have to get one of those.
-
I'm curious why you can't mix material types in an ultrasonic cleaner. Do you also have to separate out the plastic parts?
-
Parma makes a clone of the Clodbuster body, if you wanted a basher body that maintained that 80's Chevy look.
-
They help give it a street-legal look.

Many thanks to 67CamaroSS and speedy_w_beans for being legit TC sellers.

I like the clod body with those tires. Are they Lunchbox tires? The blacked out bumpers and rollbar are a nice change too.
-
No matter what lid Tamiya puts on that chassis, it will always be a Dagger!
I was going to suggest that those tires are from the original Stampede, but they look bigger than that. I also don't think that the chevrons overlapped in the middle on the old Stampede tire.
-
Picked up this for what I thought was a good price. Needs a bunch of work, but it's eminently restorable.
Been on the look out for a project like this...it'll probably get a re-re now!
Nice find! What kind of work does it need? Looks like tires and a refresh on the gold plating are in order.

A new Wild Dagger body and decal sheet, courtesy of 67CamaroSS. Thanks, man!

I'm looking for a set of 4 stock Clodbuster hubs, the plastic adapters that the wheels attach to, not the brass bits that fit on the axles.
Thanks!

Gold edition, yes! Being able to get those gold rims again at a decent price would be fantastic.

Looking good! What are you going to use for lenses on the tail-lights?
