  1. thanks for the tips. i might have to have alook at a few of those upgrades. the kids are loving it at the mo, so i think i'll be buying three kits to build with them. one each for all to do at the same time!! or one kid at a time, build along with dad jobbie!
  2. I will probably buy a new charger for the battery when i get it. just looked at my battery and it's only 1300 MaH so that could explain a bit around battery life and why when i was a kid would get annoyed around the 10 mins for a run time. The receiver does have BEC on it is that a problem? will i need to upgrade this too!! Don't get the 4AA battery holder thou? i don't have one of those on there? have stripped it down as far as i dare at the mo. will need to get some grease me thinks, what about shocks? what parts can i replace them with they are a bit tired and non responsive, Am really shocked how my 4 yr old daughter has taken to driving it round the garden this morning, first thing she said when she got up was can i go on the car daddy!
  3. Hi all, Yes i know i misspelt newbie!! I've been pursaded by my 6 yr old to bring out my MadCap from the garage and breath new life into her. I know that i'll need to replace the battery as that's as old as the car itself which it is looking @ around 20 + years. it lasts all of 5 mins!! mind the kids have been playing on it most of the afternoon and having to give it a quick charge probably aint helping but it keeps them happy and i know i'm going to replace it anyway. I'm all a bit confused on the old motor thing and what else i can up grade on it. Any help that anyone can give me will be great. i'm learning as quick as i can, and am happy to learn all i can. cheers
  4. This afternoon i decided that i would drag out the madcap i have had in my garage not working for 10 years at least. having had my 6 yr old son see it on the shelf and ask can he have a go on it. so out she came. shocked that i haven't touched it in that length of time, i charged the battery just dusted it off and.......................................... WOW was i shocked off she shot at an impressive speed for an old girl un changed from her out of the box status some 20 yrs before!! so now i'll be looking at what hop-ups i can buy for the old girl and give her a upgrade! any tips would be welcomed as i have not got a clue of what to look at or do!
  5. Hi, I am new so please go easy!! So i was thinking of this last night, don't know why but i was. maybe it was because i came across a Mystery machine from macD's that had half track and ski's at the front. Have you thought about using some stock wheels mounted on a plate that has some smaller wheels/cogs on this. they would of course be free wheeling and the only power would come from the main wheel at the rear. the belt would then be tight around the other cogs/wheels and therefore driven by the main cog/wheel. you would possibly need to up the tourqe on it thou.
