  1. It works.....woo hoo!!!! Thank you once again.
  2. Well I've just checked the servo without the horn attached and it moves fine left and right, so I can't have centred it correctly! I shall try and rectify this now... Thanks for all your help it's much appreciated.
  3. Many thanks for the advice, I thought I did centre the steering servo, but as this is all new to me I will double check it now and check the servo horn also.
  4. Hi All, I'm after a little bit of help please if poss... I have almost finished my Grasshopper restoration, this afternoon (whilst cheekily finishing work early) I hooked up my 540 sports motor, connected up the battery and hey presto it all works fine apart from the front wheels!!! As soon as I switch on the servo it makes a noise and the front wheels turn to left, but that's all they do. I can't seem to get the front wheels to then go right or left?? I have an Acoms IC AS-12 servo hooked upto an Acoms AR2 /27 Receiver (running with an mtroniks sport tuned 20 esc) I have connected up the servo to channel 1 of the receiver. Does anyone know why my front wheels won't turn left or right..??? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks Mark.
  5. Hi All, Many thanks for all your help with this, I've realised that I ordered the wrong pinion!!! I have now ordered th correct pinion, the 18T 32DP (I think it is), so when arrives next week I'll fit it and it should go like a dream!!! I'll post a couple of pictures too! Thanks for all our help :-) Mark.
  6. I see what you mean you now, thanks for your help. I will have another go at trying to fit the motor today and getting it to align properly. I'll let you know how it goes! Many thanks Mark.

  10. Hi All, This is my first post! I am restoring a tamiya grasshopper (original), I have added a new servo, mtroniks esc, rs 540 sports motor, new tyres and wheels etc etc and it's coming along great, this sonly my second restoration! I need help though if possible please, I have the sports motor and I got the 18t pinion gear as mentioned in the grasshopper manual, but I'm having trouble getting the 'teeth' of the pinion to meet up an connect properly on the large gear wheel...!?? Is this 18t pinion gear actually the right one that I should be trying to use, or should I be using a larger size?? As I say this is only my second restoration (waited years to have a tamiya rc car) now at 38 years old I now have 2, my first restoration was on a TL 01 chassis. Many thanks for your help.
