Boys, what time are you heading down on Sat 18/6? The Frog is up and running. Gave it a belting on the weekend but am still waiting for the batteries to run in so i get longer out of them. Also, i bought an Academy Road Runner body off ebay. That was my machine back in the day so now all i need to do is buy the grashopper and i'm back to the future.

Good luck tomorrow, hope the rain stays away. We'll you guys were right! i've been working out how to get a grasshopper and i was going to upgrade the engine on it. I figured i'd get a sports tuned and can use that in the frog or grasshopper and use the silver in the other. BUT i noticed a little gem called GT Tuned for about $20. It seems as though it revs similar to the sport tuned, is 25 turn and has simliar torque to your rz/tz. I reckon the standard ESC will run it and it seems like a good option. What do you think?

The Frog is almost complete. Just waiting on controller and batteries and its should be on. It's tough to do Sat's for me but later in the year i might get out. What is the problem with the soldering? might be able to give you some tips / help out.

Minimal. Was looking on Ebay and can get the Fly Sky 2.4g radio and receiver for $45 delivered, grap a servo for $10 and 2 3800 batteries with a charger for $35. It may not be the best gear but it will do a job. I'll just start with the ESC & motor supplied with it. I'm really really trying not to make this one of those things i do where i have to have the best of everything. A frog on road for under $250 sounds like a good deal to me.

The Frog just turned up in the post today. Now all i need to do is build it, get a radio, get a battery, get a charger and get a hornet. What radio, battery and charger should i get?

(Sat afternoon isn't great due to soccer) I've just learnt you can buy these things new again so i've got a bit of re learning to do. Last one i had was in the 80's. The Road Runner. Always wanted a Frog and a Hornet (and a Brat) but couldn't afford any back then so now i've sold it along the lines of the son would love them. win win i say. So feel free to offer me as much advice as you like and if i can't get organised for your first race i'll still try and get down and hopefully have something for the second.
