  6. i tried a lipo in my 10+ year old lunchbox WOW its allmost twice as fast than my old battery pack order a new motor. but dont think i need it now
  7. i just used a 4000 mah in my standard lunch box wow it was way faster than my old pack. 1800mah nicd the lipo was 30g lighter as well. its totaly standard and over 10 years old motor did get too hot to touch i have a new motor on order but think it will be way too fast as it was fine with just the new lipo!
  8. hello i have just got a lipo and WOW it made my lunch box way faster than my old battery pack! anyway it is a soft case type, i know not ideal for an RC truck. is it ok to add some extra electrical tape around the pack? also the ends are open, with no plastic wraping around them. would it be ok to cover the ends up with tape/ or do they need to be left open so the lipo can breath ect? i dont want to set my luchbox on fire! also the motor did seem very hot after its run. i have got a new brushless type on order but i think i will be too fast? it seemed about right with just the new battery upgrade it will be one crazy box! thanks
  9. chaned the bearings took a good few hours and added some new oil! took ages to line the motor back up, as 1st time i tried it, it wasnt lined up correct. just give it a quick run, does seem a little faster checked my box but no manual also put the wheels back the correct way. does any one have a link to a servo saver that will fit and also the steering links, ball screws and ball cups from the re-release Lunchbox ? i have found the shocks also a new motor with a esc so will be ordering them soon edit: now orderd some shocks and a brushless + esc (should be fun) have found a hd steering kit but its in the usa. also with the shocks i think i will need the U shaped adaptor for the top to attach to the body/ chassie as show here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v513/cfj...x3-19-06001.jpg any one know the correct name/ where to buy them, as i dont think they will come with the oil filled shocks? are they from the pressed parts bag? thanks
  10. thanks for the replies i think i do have the book, with the box somewhere in the attic! will have to dig it out. think i will need a new set of wheels as they have started to crack
  11. hello every one. iv had a lunchbox monster truck for around 14 years. i got it ready to run from a local model shop. around 5 - 6 years ago it started to play up and was left in the cubord ever since couple of days a go i got it out. it seems to run fine forward. but when on max reverse it just stops. have been reading on here and with the help of google, i think i needs a new msc. im also thinking about doing some upgrades also. i have order a new bearing set is there a guide on how to fit these? also thinking about a new motor and new shocks along the way. also i remember many years ago it never liked to go in a straight line. is there any parts i can buy to help with the steering? here are the photos of my lunch box also have the other shell:
