Ok , Yes there is that . Of people taking avantage of your hard work and selling it . That's not good . Yes , I have done that once , doing the mirror on slicing software . But didn't what to do the wrong thing by you . So thanks Hobgolin for your time . Take your time m8 . All good Thanks . What 3D printer you using ? .
-
Nice , is that for both sides ?. Or just right side only ? . Nice proflie on Thingiverse , I'm still trying to learn to make/draw . Not working out to well ha , i have been 3d printing for 3 year or so . Nice of you not hiding things and claming up and saying work it out your self lol . Like most do . Good on ya AND thanks .

I'm liking this idea , Great job .

Them Gens Ace are good Batterys and you can get them in 3S .and 4S as well . Perth RC has them , but i'm sure most hobby shops in Aus would . What ya going to put it in Re-Bugged
-
OMG!! I'm sure i have the same thing . Red body and chassis was black ( flat chassis ) Steering was on or off , simple rc back then . Ha , just come to me by reading this . I forgot that i had one , May not of been the same . Hope you find one .

Thrust bearing's are different . Gbox you put 1150 in and on the out side you can put 850 bearing in , b4 the out drive and E-Clip . That helps , but not needed . O ring will slow things and bind it up and should not be needed at all .
-
OMG!! Yep . Had that many times ,so i bid 30's b4 and i get sniped . Or i do it and it don't go , just sit's there thinking about it . It's always the way , the stuff you don't really need you get , but the stuff you need to have , you lose or old age come's into play and you forget < done that many time's . O-well that's the way it is , ya win and ya lose some .
-
Don't you hate that , when you really want it as well Grrrrr ... I have done that many times , even got wrong day , let alone time ....
-
The 4wd output shalft has the thrust bearing as does the front Gbox . In between the prop shalft . They did come with plastic bush with washer on each side . Or owner can upgrade it to metal thrust bearing .

You think , that's all we had . Try and do that to the kid's today HA . They would not survive  mtbkym01 must have been in the upper class part of town . Wonder if we should be talking to him . With our 2 digit area code and only two channels , he would have had 4 i bet .. Old times , the kids have know idea . Was simple things that keeped us amused or we were told to shutup etc . Haha . Oh , back to rc reality now , carry on .. How is ya build going Falcon#5 ? . -

Gee , feel old now . Times have changed , when things were simple back then . -
May need Pic's of inside Gbox . All bearing / thrustwasher in ? . Do you have Ball bearing's in ? Or plastic bearing's ?. As plastic bearing had a washer i think from memory , B4 you put C-Clip / E-Clip .as with thrust bearing , had plastic and two washers either side of the plastic bering/spacer < depends on what you call it . I'm not home at the moment ( Australia ) i have had to head to New Zealand sadly . So i can't look at manuals etc .
-
Well you need to put E-Clips in front and rear Gbox's . Put in motor in rear and run the rear only and see if it clicks . Hold prop shalft or sort ( to put load on ) and see if it clicks , if not , it's the front . If it does it's the rear . You may have grain of sand in cog or pinion , of prop shalft rubbing ? On some thing , wheels rubbing on some thing ? Also spin rear wheel , with hand both ways , see if it clicks , do rear and front wheels . You may have damaged some thing when you didn't put the E-clips in the 1st time ? .
-
Now , if you replaced the G-Parts , DID you use Vintage Gbox parts ? Or did you get the re re G-Parts ?? As the vintage has C-Clips to hold the Gbox drive cups AND Thre rere Has E-Clip to hold the Gbox drive cups . The rere G-Parts had relief where the 1150 bearings go , to allow for the E-Clip , The Vintage didn't need this .

Vintage Boomerang restore help (Hotshot/Thundershot)
matman replied to boomer22's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
RERE boomerang has all the same Plastic parts almost , Now dog bones , out drives , wheel axles are different . Vintage are bigger , rere are smaller DF03 and 02 unis fit the rere out drives ( the one's the go into gear box's ) NOW , If you need to replace G-Parts ( gearbox parts ) The re re is different slightly , the 1150 bearings go in more as it RECESSED , there the out drives go , AS this has E-Clips ..... Vintage has C-Clips so no recess needed . Rere stuff will fit on vintage , some look different to sute this era . Pivot balls are hex and steel , Vintage are crome , alloy . USE Tamiya grease in gearboxs , don't need much . -
I'm sure with that statement your talking about RC's cars And not us running . Have you been running anything rc ?. Then again , I do have my losi 2.0 miniT with me . As i have had to go to New Zealand and i have been in ISO for about week and a bit , get out on sunday 21st june , then fly to Napier . Not sure how long i'm here for . Maybe two weeks or three weeks , then head back to Aus . Then ISO again for two weeks . But hope i can do it at home , but that won't happen , as Plane flys into Melbourne then to Perth the next day i think . Sadly Mum passed away on the 3 june and i could not get there in time , as you would know ( Covid stuff ) . Cancer got worse and just like that gone ... So i will be away for some time , so guys rc away if you can .
-
Me , no . Would be great some time again ..
-
The 86 boomerang has bigger out drives and dog bones and wheel axle's , So if you want to put DT03 Cvd's you need the out drives ( gearbox side ) , Use the C-clips on OLD gearbox's , If you use RE RE Gearbox ( G parts tree ) you need to use the E-clip on re re gearbox's . Yep , get too set's on that Ebay page , they will fit great .

It's been a BIG learning curve and i have not got a radio yet , i will be getting a DX6e on monday and other Tamiya truck goodies . I'm a car/buggy guy as well . But love the truck builds , as i now have two , Grandhauler & cascadia . Plus 3D printing parts and things for it add's to the fun . That has given me the motivation to get things done as well . Great build JNSD1 . Wonder it the build will ever end ? As there is so much that can be done and added to . -

HAha i saw the Nails , but the next vid was BOB from Hobbyconceps-LLC on Youtube . Great step by step vids on how to programe DX6e and more Transmitter setup's . There is a Turnigy-i6 setup , that LOOK's like your flysky radio ? , Bob gets that going with everthing . So that may help ?. He also does light dash setups , look great . You may spend sometime watching the vid's . Like i have ... If you have not all ready . .
