  1. You can download PDF copies from here https://www.tamiya.de/en/service/manuals/
  2. I was thinking about the same thing a couple of weeks ago, should I take advantage of working from home, and do a few big orders from, stock up on some bodyshells, paint etc, enough to keep me occupied for a couple of months or more, or should I not order anything, as in the scheme of things it’s not that important when people are dying. In the end, I placed a couple of orders for bearings and screws, small things that would be delivered by Royal Mail rather than anything from couriers – as others may need their services for more essential items than myself. I’ve soon realised I’ve got a plenty to be getting on with already, and maybe once the situation starts to improve, then I may look to do some orders again, but until we start to see some light at the end of the tunnel, I’m going to avoid ordering anything if possible. It’s difficult as these companies are open for business, and need to be supported, we could well see a couple of stores closing for good over the next few weeks.
  3. You need 2x TT01 front sets (or only 1 front set if you are running different coloured stabilizers at each end) Check out the TT01R Type E manual - page 18 will show you what you need, and how to install it all. https://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/manuals.htm
  4. The 3-Racing Toyota 86 body shell has the correct spoiler, but you'll need to buy the entire body shell to get it which will cost you circa £30. http://www.rcmart.com/3racing-toyota-clear-body-parts-lbd86-p-61987.html?cPath=438_875
  5. The licensing thing is probably down to manufactures no longer having a commercial relationship with some of these companies. Mercedes F1 and DTM teams have recently been sponsored by Petronas – I assume this relationship may extend to their road cars too, perhaps OE Mercedes oils are made by Petronas or a company other than Shell, therefore Mercedes may not want to or be allowed to ‘promote’ a company with whom they no longer have any commercial relationship. This can also explain to missing tyre logos on some bodies.
  6. There's a 10% offer on Ebay UK today until 8pm . I've had an Email from Jadlam this morning selling the egress at £355.45 via their Ebay store using the PERKS 10% code.
  7. For the Suzuki Jimny which is painted PS-59 they use TS-89 Pearl Blue for body coloured mirrors.
  8. One of the largest UK based RC Shops (Modelsport) stocks MIP products, they have the Monster Beetle Diff for a reasonable price of £50, compared to the $60 (£44) that you'd pay from MIP, plus shipping and any import duties, so I assume that once the first batch of pre-orders have been fulfilled for the Hotshot diffs, then hopefully Modelsport will be able to stock the Hotshot diffs too which should be cheaper than buying from the USA and adding all the additional duties and handling fees.
  9. If you're willing to invest a similar cost of the 934 Black Special into a rally car, look at the XV01 which is currently available as the Lancia Delta Integrale. It's a great chassis to build, and there are plenty of hop ups if that interests you too.
  10. To convert the TA02SW to a normal TA02 you need the K-Parts for rear arms which have been discontinued for a while; https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio-control-parts-70/r-c-spare-parts-71000/rc-4wd-ta02-rr-suspension-arms-50556 You'll also also need the Skyline body mount set; https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio-control-parts-70/r-c-spare-parts-71000/rc-skyline-body-mount-set-50482 There are also a couple of Flange Tubes you need to do it as per the instructions, it's worth looking at a normal TA02 manual for guidance; https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio-control-kits-30/4wd-shaft-drive-on-road-(ta)-36150/rc-loctite-nissan-skyline-gt-r-58155 I managed to find a NIP set of rear arms when I got my TA02, whilst the price was reasonable (£7 - £8), I had to pay more than double the original price for shipping from Italy to the UK! There are 3rd party metal rear arms also available, but these are expensive, and may not suit being used as a rally car; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALLOY-FRONT-REAR-LOWER-ARM-SUSPENSION-S-TAMIYA-1-10-TA02-TA-02/332636589741?hash=item4d72af8ead:g:vXkAAOSw8vZXM3Ud The other and easier option would to buy a TA02SW and convert it to a TA01. Parts are much more common. Assuming you keep the TA02 front suspension setup, from memory, you'd only need a Manta Ray Chassis, and Prop Shaft.
  11. Figured this thread with all the 037 love was the best place to post this.
  12. It hasn't technically been announced yet. I'd guess an official announcement before the Shizuoka Hobby Show in early May, probably released late summer.
  13. They are made in Taiwan - the stickers on the top of the Servo tell you that.
  14. I've got a couple of Alturn low profile servos and they use 2.5mm screws, albeit they are metal geared, I assume the plastic geared versions will be the same.
  15. From the wheels which look like the ones used on various touring cars since the Mercedes 190e on the TA01 chassis, I'd say it based on a 190mm touring car, so I'd hazard a guess at being TT02 based, quite possibly 251mm wheelbase as the Yaris is a small hatchback. Good to see Tamiya releasing a couple of newer rally cars. I know the Hyundai i20 has a limited release in XB format at the moment, but I'd guess thats as they haven't released a light blue paint that matches the Hyundai's paint scheme yet, so maybe that will get a wider kit based release down the line along with matching paint. Now, time to re-release a couple of older rally bodies please Tamiya.
  16. Are you talking about Body Washers that go on the inside of the shell? If so, I've used these in the past on a few bodies and have been happy with them. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-foam-body-protectors-10-/rc-car-products/11657 Tamiya have also started to do their own version too; https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/54785/index.htm
  17. The fact that its a straight copy and paste of Time Tunnel's Ebay ad for the same product should tell you it's 100% dodgy. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-45057-TBLE-02S-Brushed-Brushless-ESC-Replaces-TEU105BK-TEU101BK-/360827647623?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10
  18. You can also try a Pellet Pump that anglers use like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Band-it-Pellet-Pump-Carp-Fishing-Match-Expander-Pellets-/141711108764 I've been planning to pick one up for a while, and add a bit of cardboard with holes in near the top to hold the dampers up-right.
  19. Excuse the excessive toe-in (And rubish photos). Here's my F103/F104GT Hybrid. F103 Chassis with F104 front suspension and F104 rear gearbox setup.
  20. Have you seen Chris Harris' racing helmet... https://twitter.com/harrismonkey/status/733689253604003840
  21. If you're having issues with TS paint, try some automotive paint instead. I've found it a bit more forgiving than TS paints. It's a bit thicker, less liable to run and dries a lot quicker. In the UK we have a car accessory store called Halfords, and I use their Gloss White and Satin Black for various projects and can achive better results than I can with TS paints. It's also much better value for money. In the UK a 100ml can of TS paint cost £6. A 500ml can of automotive paint costs £8. I'm sure you'll have a similar shop in Canada. Keep up the great work, I'm watching the project with interest as I love the 037.
  22. Upper links are too long. If you get the standard part and compare it to two ball ends put together without a spacer there is about 2mm difference already, add a spacer and you are making it even worse. If you're using the Tamiya the adjustable upper arm set, it's only meant for the steering and rear links, not the upper front links. If you want to adjust the camber, try the 3-Racing set (http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=4035) It comes with super short rod ends for the front and works a treat.
  23. As @WillyChangsaid, its a generic chassis used by many lesser known brands. The most well known to my knowledge are 'HSP Flying Fish' 'Exceed Driftstar' or 'Redcat Lightning', which may help you get some background info, value it, or find spares.
  24. I use Sellotape Sticky Fixer Pads. Never had an issue with an ESC or reciever coming loose. Only cost a couple of pounds for decent sized pack, and easy to find in your local supermarket.
  25. My current fleet since getting back into the hobby; TT01D RX7 - Now converted to TT01e 251mm wheelbase wearing Ford Capri or Porsche RSR bodies. DF01 Cayenne - Purchased cheaply as it was discontinued kit. Originally a donor car for a TA01 rebuild, but now a DF01/TA01/DF01 Buggy - Soon to be top force. Wears a Racing Lancer (DF01), Toyota GT-Four 1990 (TA01) or Blazing Star (DF01 Buggy). I've now got the FRP parts to convert this to a Top Force / FRP chassis TA01 which will have a BMW M3 & Skyline R32 body. M05 Abarth Assetto Corse - Now converted to M05ra spec with a Suzuki Swift Body or Honda CRX Pro. M05v2 built from scratch - Racing Mini Cooper body or a Abarth TCR 1000 body when I've finished the Decals. M06 Pro - Eunos Roadster, Alfa GTA or BMW 2002 body. Also have an Alpine A110 that can go on this once I've decaled it. F104x1 - McLaren Mp4/24 or Ferrari F60 body. I've also done a F104w front end conversion so this also has a McLaren MP4/6 body. F103GT - Nissan GT-R LM Nismo (Purchased one June after watching LeMans 24hr on Autosport). Has parts to convert to a F103 with a McLaren Mp4/5b body. XV01 Pro - Subaru Impreza 2008 body, but have the parts to convert to a XV01tc which will have the Subaru WRX 24hr Nurburgring body that needs painting. TA06 Pro - Currently in bits. Has a Ferrari 599xx body, Ferrari 458 body. I'm in the process of finishing off a Mercedes AMG GT3 to go on this. Need electrics as it's donated what it originally had to others. I aim to put a 17.5 or 21.5 brushless in this eventually. FF03 Pro - Converted to Pro-R spec. Has Castol Honda Civic / JAS Civic bodies. In the build queue; F104 Pro - Ready to be built from spares. Has a Ferrari F2012 body that I need to cut out and decal. Bodies will be shared with the F104x1. TB04 LaFerrari - Ready to be built, just needs a couple of bearings. Has a Raybrig Concept NSX body ready to put on once it's done. Need to finish the LaFerrari body too. TA02SW Porsche 934 - Most recent project. I already have the Porsche 934 & Porsche 911 GT2 bodies. Purchased this kit after the Lancia 037 was announced last year, so I'm aiming to get that body too. I've also got the parts to convert to TA02 257mm wheelbase, and a Alfa 155 Jagermeister body to go on it. Tucked away in the loft for sentimental value; Parts to build a Manta Ray from new parts - my first car, so I've got all the bits to build a new one a few years ago. Now they've re-released it, so I may have to get a 2018 version, and merge some of the spares. Parts to build a TA01 Lancia Delta Integrale - my 2nd car was a 1992 Celica GT-Four. This was the next best thing I could put together. If they ever re-release the Celica ST185 body, I will get one to go with these parts. F102 McLaren Mp4/6 - My most original car. This one probably holds the most sentimental value. I've slowly been picking up some spare parts for this. What I'd like to add in 2018: I'm sure this list could be pretty endless for most of us if we had the funds, but realistically if I could add a car or two to the fleet, the things at the top of the list are MF01x, M07 Concept, Hotshot / Super Hotshot or TT02 Type S at the moment. The TA02s Lancia 037 will jump to the top of the queue if the body parts are hard to find or if it's more cost effective to buy a whole kit.
