Hotshot re-re gearbox vs vintage..!
hotshot boy replied to hotshot boy's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hmmmm this is as I thought... **** as i really want to use the "C" clips and all, but I guess I will need to keep looking for a set of vintage G parts... Wahhhhhhh if I can find them...!!!!! =-X -
Hiya All, I have been restoring an old vintage Supershot, and not too many dramas, as I have a fair grasp of all things Hotshot.. BUUUTTT.. i have put it together with all vintage parts EXCEPT for wheels and gearbox parts.. the problem I have is the diffs slip horribly as they are all assembled..??!??!??! I have vintage everything including "C" clips & the actual steel gears themselves, and I think that is the problem as it is not an issue with "E" clips in place, the "C" clips allow a bit of slop in the slots/slits they sit in and it allows under pressure the outdrives move outwards and allows the bevel gears to slip.. Soooo I guess my question is are the gearbox parts different or are the metal gears different, either are impossible to get a hold of so want to only hunt and pay crazy for the item I need... I'm assuming its the gears as some have said the gearbox halvbes are identical but I am still doubtfull... Hope this makes sense....!!

Hahahahaa gotta laugh... i have dealt with him heaps and really minimal problems... BUT...!! i asked him to change an order once politely and he obliged but he accidently took the wrong item off, I advised and asked him to correct it, and it went downhill fast from there.. I did get ALL the items in the end and I ended up with stuff I didn't want but he acted like an ignorant clown after I had shown him the mistake he made, and now he has BANNED me as well lol... worries me my brother just buys what i want from his store cos lets face it for that market he is the best even though the few mistakes are tolerable usually.. but I agree with some of you that the customer is always right...! I deal in sales and have to suck it every week and even when the customer is wrong the customer is RIGHT...!!! =-P

DT-02: How to secure screw pins on the suspension arms
hotshot boy replied to GregM's topic in General discussions
Tamiya threadlock (the blue stuff) is plastic friendly BUT its not the best for strength.. I am going to use your idea here though, as I am forever screwing them back in even though I super glue them regularly.. I tried a pin with "c" clips and it kept coming of ("C" clips kept springing off lol) as I run mine race trim and HARD.....!!! Just the way intended and have minimal issues with the rest of the car... -

Yep I don't even know myself anymore... I just do...!?!?!? A lot of people think I'm childish and have problems, but you know what I don't go around bashing other people or dissing thier hobbies so I guess thats a good thing..? Just cos I'm not a footy nut doesn't mean I am any less of a "man"...! -
