Hey guys. I was hoping somebody out there could help me. I picked up a really nice Bruiser (heck, nearly new if not for rollover scratches on body!) Anyhow, I started taking it apart to clean her up, and in taking off the front wheels, it feels like the hub shafts are WAY too loose...there is too much play which causes them to pop out of their little socket inside. It pops back in fine, but comes disengaged again, causing the front wheels not to turn when they should. To better understand the issue...stand at your Bruiser with it's right side facing you, so you see the passenger side of the truck. Grab the whole front wheel/tire and pull towards you. It should not move, but mine does. It moves out, towards me, about 1/2 inh or more, causing the disengagement. It does this on both sides, WITHOUT loosening the wheel nuts at all. How do I fix this? What is the problem? MY guess is that it was not pt together correctly...but I have not taken it all apart yet because I wanted to ask the experts. Can any of you help me? Is this normal? I want to run!!!

Hey guys...I have what I think is a problem. The hub shafts on the front axle of my Bruiser seem to float in and out...which causes the wheel to engage/disengage the prop shaft inside the axle. Is this normal? Is this supposed to be like this? It does not seem right...

Where can I find the kit to allow me to mount the servos to the gearboxes? Do they still ahve to be high torque servos? I just want it to be able to turn like any "normal" monster truck should...right now it just does not do anything.

I have to do something...it is terrible!

No, I did not do anything. Is that recommended? If I change the length of them...by how much should I change it? If I make them too short they will not even reach.

I fitted my Clod with a high torque servo, and the steering is still horrible. I wasnt this thing to turn as tight as possible. What do I need to do?

I have a new Can Am Lola, which is in my showroom/traderoom...are these popular? I am not new to the hobby, but I had never heard of them. Are they rare?

OK...I just took the gear box apart, and behold! The counter gear is shredded. Thank You all who helped me out on this one. It is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mike

I just picked up a MB for a steal, and it looks great...it has some damage but nothing that is not fixable. The issue that I am having is (1) It doesn't seem to be very fast...grass nearly stopped it in its tracks! Also, the gearbox seems to be quite loud...especially in reverse. I thought that perhaps it could be the motor, so I swapped it out and still the same. There is a small white plastic "plug" on one the left side of the box (looking at it fromthe rear). If I press hard on this plug, the noise/chatter almost goes away. This "plug" also spins while the motor is running. Anyone else had this issue? I am aware of gearbox issues in these...and I know that these babies are supposed to fly, or so I thought. Any help would be appreciated.

I just picked up a Blazing Blazer off the bay...and boy do I need parts! If ANYONE has ANYTHING PLEASE let me know what you have, and what you want for it. Allright fellas...unfortunately there was an error on my part in setting the date(s) for this meet. The TC East Coast meet is postponed until we can figure out another date that will work for everyone. OK...its done! The 1st Annual Tamiya Club meet for the US East Coast is on![^] The meet will be held at Speed-Zone Hobbies, in Cromwell, CT on May 15th & 16th. Time of meet will be 10-5 on Saturday and Sunday is OPEN There will be a raffle held for a NIB kit, with tickets being sold for $2 each to cover the cost of the kit. Which kit we buy will be determined by the amount of money we receive for tickets[?]. If we do not receive enough money for a decent kit, all will be refunded. Any monies left over will be directly forwarded to TamiyaClub.com as a donation to the site. There will also be a trophy awarded for "Best in Show"[]. We will judge cars/trucks, or have people vote on the winner for the trophy. Attendees will have the option of sending money for tickets via PayPal to Potential_Esquire(Josh), or simply purchase a ticket upon arrival. If you would like to prepay for tickets, please send funds via PayPal to potentialesquire@hotmail.comAll monies sent need to be in US $$ (American Dollar)INDIVIDUAL MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN THE RAFFLE. The meet itself, will be non-profit. No money can or will be made on off of the TamiyaClub name. We were thinking of holding a raffle for something small, wheteher that will happen or not is still in the air...there will be alot going on, and there may not be much time to do that. For our off road racers, Anthony's friend has a dirt track at his house! It is a manageable course...jumps are not bad so as to not break our vintage beauties! As far as a date we are leaning toward sometime in mid May, but that is not a definite...we have talked about either the 15th & 16th or the 22nd & 23rd...both being held on a Sat/Sun. More later... Allright...I need to know what to get fellas. I see everyone rock crawling, trial trucking, etc., and I want to drive! I need to know what is a good/great XC to get that will perform. I want good articulation, power,etc. Not sure how these work, but I will soon learn. WHAT DO I DO????

Allright everyone...here's the latest...we are in talks with AirXtreme(Anthony)to hold/host our 1st Annual U.S. Tamiya Club meet at SpeedZone Hobbies on Route 3 in Cromwell, CT. The shop boasts an indoor carpet track and plenty of parking lot room for messing around with our beasts![] Depending on turnout, which I hope is great, we may set up tables and tents outside so that there is ample room for everyone.[8D] What about outdoor racing you ask??? Anthony's friend has a shop 10 minutes away that is complete with an outdoor track![] As far as a time, we are shooting for late spring/early summer...but that is not written in stone as of yet...more details will follow on that. So...sound good guys? I want as many people to show up as possible...even if it is just to stop in and meet everyone. Now...what I need from all of you...is to know who is going to be there, so as to give me a rough idea on a figure. Shoot me an email and tell me whether you can make it or not. Hey everyone...this is really starting to take off...coming together rather nicely! It is good to see all of the responses! For those of us on the east coast...NY,PA,NJ,WA, etc., lets start hammering out details for a location, and a time of year. I was thinking late spring/early summer. AirXtreme(Anthony) has offered to host something at his hobby shop in Connecticut, also some other ideas are Valley Forge in PA,Central Park in NY, and also another park in Brooklyn, NY. There are no details on these as of yet, just potentials. I am researching areas in and around my area (Du Bois, PA). What state would everyone rather go to in the tri-state area? What does everyone want as far as what is available? Dirt tracks...pavement...maybe just some flat, grassy ground? Please inform...again thanks to all!

I must say WOW everyone...thanks so much for all the responses. I myself am on the East Coast, close to Anthony(AirXtreme), rcgrabbag, etc.. Everyone has brought up some great ideas! What will probably happen, and I am sure all of our members will agree, is have two seperate meets...one in the East, the other in the West...it could even be on the same day, but does not have to be. I had an idea that I could possibly bring my laptop, with web cam, and possibly link up with someone at the West Coast event...just an idea though. Not important...there will be many pics I am sure! We will need volunteers I am sure...anyone wanna take on the West Coast meet? I for one have alot to learn,but I will have all the help I will need I am sure... but we need this to happen.We have to try to agree on a location, then find out how it will work for us. Perhaps some camping nearby or onsite, local pubs(for those who need their Ale before bed []),hotels, power to charge the batteries for our toys, etc. So, Thank You everyone...George, Josh...who are helping me to organize all of this for us also...and everyone else, a big thanks to you too. Allright everyone...I need some feedback...myself along with George(Dephcon5) and Josh(Potential_Esquire) have been in talks to get the ball rolling on a TC meet in the US. It would be great if it was eventually like Snetterton, but you gotta start small, right? If we pull together, I am sure we can get something started![] There is no definite location as of yet...but as far as a time probably late spring/early summer perhaps. So what we need from you is feedback...is anyone else interested in this? The meet would be for those of us in the US who want to go to Snetterton, but can't make it for different reasons....but of course everyone is welcome and urged to attend...it would be great to meet all of our UK buddies![] So, gimme ideas of locations you think would be good, time of year, who could/would attend, etc. I am sure nothing can top Snett, but we gotta keep up! Thanks fellas...I have some never-dulltype stuff...it is in cotton. I can get the neverdull though. I bought a ultrasonic cleaner thinking that would do it, but it doesn't shine it at all.

Hey guys...I have torn my Hilux apart and am cleaning it up...and was wondering how I go about shinig up the metal on the axles and such...the rails are easy, but axles and tranny are not. Is it even possible?

I nned to know what to use to lubricate the gears in the transmission of my Hilux 4x4. I do not have any of the spray oil that they speak of in the manual, so need other options. Thanks all. Mike

Is the Hilux 4x4 still available from Tamiya? I can't seem to get any luck finding a nice used one or a brand new one to build. Any info on this would be great! Mike
