  2. Just tried flickr, but takes it to my flickr page. Not so good.
  3. 2 already done, front extended bumper off and have stoled wheels from my Losi MRC for a bit more grip and presence. Got to give it a bit of a run now....
  4. It is under my settings in my account with a section for manage attachments??
  5. Hey all, as I gradually work through my latest project (super hornet), the manual states to use one of those carboardy heat insulating plates between the motor and the gearbox. Unfortunately I do not have one (and to be honest, seems a shame to have to order a single item like that!), and any others I have are firmly attached to other cars. The question is, has anyone simply cut out a plate to fit from suitable material, and if they have, what material will do the job? Feels like a bit of a daft question, but hey ho!!!
  6. Super Hornet rebuidls appearing everywhere! If you cant lengthen your shocks, try a little cheat I am using, insert a tamiya plastic bush between the 'U' shape shock mount bracket and the chassis mounting arm. Worked ok for me, and I will simply paint it black when cleaning everything up!
  7. A quick question......... With respect to posting pictures, I understand the limit is 500k? Do I need to run through a pic hosting site ideally or are there other options? cheers
  8. Just completed this chap: Kept it stealthy, so need to give it a good run before the tweaking commences.......................
  9. Pretty happy with progress, though still few jobs to do, then can hit the cosmetics: better steering arms and add some weight to the chassis to help the suspension a bit. Then complete strip, grease and clean, respray the bits that some previous muppet had decided ought to be blue (grrrrr), then on to the bodt which needs some minor repair, stripping and painting. Likely to end up black with some lexan blacked out windows.
  10. Ok. Carson wheels arrived, and they look awesome (from Fusion Hobbies, UK). The only thing I am a bit confused by, is that they appear to be an identical size to my old super hornet wheels????? Are they really 2.2? The package said they were for DT01/02 chassis. Anyway, doesnt matter as they look ace! Pics coming.......
  11. I have ordered a set of the black Carson wheels. I feel a stealth buggy comin on...
  12. Cheers, just what I needed
  13. Hey all. Just workin through my first restoration/custom with a knackered Super Hornet. Have a plan for sorting front suspension (as there was none!), RW pinion in the post, servo and steering all ok (ish). Absolutely not bothered about originality so am looking for some suggestions/advice on replacement wheels or easily available alternative tyres for the original wheels (which are in ok condition, at least when cleaned up!). I have some radshape 12mm hex adaptors for the back, so pretty well assume any standard buggy wheels will do for the rear, but not so sure about the front because of the restrictions of the axle lengths. Any thoughts or pointer??? cheers all
  14. I signed up, got the email but it will not open? Any suggestions? cheers
  15. And many months down the line a few less visual mods: Modelsport RV12 Sniper ESC HPI 15T motor Bump Steer mod in place Further preload spacers on fron suspension Result - nicely quick, steers well, minimal cost! Happy Days
  16. With respect to the people who use this forum, I have to say it is one of the most friendly, helpful and useful I have come across. So many forums have long term members who take the old 'why dont you use the search facility' response when people ask questions. I have never seen this response personally on here. That to me is a sign of a good forum. With respect to buying and selling of parts, that is the nature of any hobby I'm afraid. Whether it be model making, RC, musical instruments, restoring vehicles, etc etc. Some are in it for the simple buy a model, build it, thrash it, some want something that looks pretty on the shelf, some do it to make a bit of cash, some do it to purely collect rare or unusual items. I personally do not understand why anyone would buy a Tamiya kit, build it to look awesome, then not take it out for a regular spin. Buy hey, each to their own. I prefer to find a kit I like, build it to a reasonable standard, then enjoy driving it. But thats me! As has been mentioned several time, parts for old kits have to come from somewhere, so if Tamiya no longer produce them, where is that source? I bought a box of bits ages ago cheap with the intention of restoring a couple of cars (Super Hornet and Super Sabre), in reality, this is unlikely to happen for various reasons (mostly my lack of patience!), so I will end up keeping some of it for spares (Hornet), and probably give the Super Sabre to my father in law to bodge a runner together. So am I doing the wrong thing by giving potentially useful spares away to someone who will likely cobble together a fun little runner for themselves? I dont think so, as it gets someone else into the hobby. However, there are probably those who need some of those parts to finish a restoration. Should they then be annoyed for me not offering those parts up? I dont think so, it is my choice what I do with them! So please all, be happy, enjoy whatever it is you get from this hobby, keep calm and carry on! Peace
  17. oops, should have posted in General Discussions Can this be moved??
  18. Just thought I would share my first road car build. Fiat Abarth on M05 chassis. Certainly a different beast to previous builds, just got to wait for things to dry up outside to take it for its maiden voyage
  19. Saved up the last week of deliveries and collections..... CC01 Land Cruiser (Chrimbo prezzie for me) Metallic Midnight Pumpkin (Chrimbo pressie for my better half - her first RC) Tamiya Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR Berlina Corse - M05 (prezzie for me for now!) RC Bearings for all of above Spektrum DX3C Happy days
  20. Gave this a try and it works! Strangely tho, the red LED on the ESC no comes on for fwd, the green for rev! All very odd, but it is full speed in both directions (I think), so no biggie Out of interest, one other thing I have noticed, that I never had with the original 104 ESC is that the servo sometimes stops responding when the battery gets low??? I assume this is the relatively low output of the BEC? Modern technology eh!
  21. Has anyone had experience of this ESC? I have it all programmed and when reverse is turned off the brakes work very well, but with reverse on, it goes pretty well straight from fwd to reverse! I have noticed there is a slight delay in reverse to fwd I spoke to modelsport and they have said that is how they are programmed, however not sure if I am happy with the potential abuse the diff may end up taking! Any thoughts team? P.S. it is running a sport tuned motor in a stadium blitzer cheers
  22. Looks like the FAV is fav! Last chance to vote before the ordering starts.........................
