  1. Thanks for your responses. Gave it a whirl in the back garden which is pretty big and seemed to run fine. Happy days!
  2. Dont feel bad! Managed to complete mine and was ultra proud until I pull the protective film off and noticed I had got a couple of black smears on the roof, probably when removing the masking Ah well, that is what the decals are for!
  3. Hey all, this seems to be a topic with mixed opions. I have found an Acoms 27mhx receiver in my box of bits, I have no idea if the aerial has ever been cut (assume it has based on who owned the box before!). I have connected up to my new Stadium Blitzer, and running around the house it seems fine. In reality, what REALLY happens if aerial lengths have been changed. Surely it is only likely to be the range the car operates at? Cheers all!
  4. After days of searching, with total confusion finally reigning, I am lost for options of new front shocks for my 'tired' Super Hornet. Can anyone suggest either which equivilent Tamiya shocks are the correct size or options for aftermarket. I have looked at Ansmann/Fastrax but they are either 55mm (too short) or 75mm (too long). Oh, and unfortunately, need to UK source them! Cheers all
  5. Hopefully a simple question for the Blitzer owners out there. Am planning to base the paint job on the box art, so obviously black first! However, is it better to then paint the silver bed followed by the white? Or do the white first and finish with the silver? cheers all
  6. cheers all, am impressed with the spots on the pand and beetle! Not too fussed about returning to standard, just to get them running for fun!
  7. Mine shall not be NIB much longer! My first polycarb paint job coming up !
  8. Visited the uncle-in-law today, and swapped £40 for this box of surprises......... A running but tatty Super Hornet: What I think is a slightly broken (but again fully running) Super Sabre chassis, though not being too good on old tamiyas, the opinions of those more knowledgable would be appreciated: A random bodyshell, no idea of what it is And a pile of random old tamiya parts, most pleased with the set of red shocks! : Anything else recognised by the more observant out there?
  9. What a great present from my better other half! Bearing set is on route ready to build......
  10. Generally messing round on a mixture of grass and concrete paths, though have yet to investigate the local BMX track Have upto about £150 to spend on the kit
  11. This kind of post comes up quite often, but always seems to promote some good opinions! I am looking for something to compliment my modded Lunchbox (which is top fun). Probably off road but the choice is so huge I really have no clue what to go for!! All I know for sure is it needs to be a fun build, has option for modding and messing with and is most likely to be used for bashing around! The only one I keep coming back to is the Stadium Blitzer. Wos reckon folks?? cheers
  12. Metal bearings are in (HUGE difference), and have made some mods to the wheelie bar (the grinding sounds were making me cringe......). This is a couple of RC plane tail wheels, unfortunately one is a bit wonky due to a drilling mishap, ah well doesnt notice in motion However, the improved speed and fun with wheelies has taken away the previously clean and undamaged shell..............
  13. Cheers! It is Ford Meadow Green. Selected at random from my local halfords as it had that 50's vibe!
  14. Hey there, newbie online! Having been looking around at RC cars for a while, finally settled on this ol' boy! Since the paint job was complete, have added front strut, dropped the suspension all round and added 5th shock at back. Top fun to drive Just need to order some metal bearings and job done.
