  1. Hi.

    thanks,

I think I will get the Orion 23 turn and see how it goes. Can always get a new ESC if I fry it :D

The sport tune is a surpirsing improvement over the standard silver can. A silver can is rated to 14500 rpm on 7.2 volts, the sport tune is 18500. A 23 turn should give about 23000 rpm and a 21 about 25300. Ive had a 21 turn in my LB, and thats pretty good- for all round fun I reckon a 23s spot on. Ive found with the 21, it has a tendancy to want to flip on an incline. Hope this helps.

    Cheers

  2. Hi,

I'm thinking of upgrading my motor and have heard that the sport tuned isn't that great. I have spaceframe aluminium chassis upgrades and oil shocks already.

Was thinking about either a 21t or 23t team orion method as links below.

I am using the stock 104bk esc, so I assume that the 23t will be slightly "safer".

any ideas about which I should get?

As I understand it, the 21t will have higher top speed, and the 23t will have better acceleration, more battery life, and more torque, and is less likely to make the esc overheat. On that basis I am leaning towards the 23t.

Does anyone know how these motors would compare to the stock silver can, and to the 23t sport tuned tamiya motor, which I have read is overpriced and not much of an upgrade over the silver can.

    thanks a lot

  3. Thanks very much for the reply.

Maybe I will just stick to buying a lunchbox body :)

The Beetle (SS/MB/BB) bodies are around 240mm wheelbase, so too long for the Lunchbox which is around 210mm. The short M-Chassis bodies will fit. Like the Mini or ABC's M-Chassis bodies. Quite expensive to get damaged.

The Kamtec bodies make good runner bodies in lexan as they are lighter (lower centre of gravity) and less prone to damage than the polystyrene MP/LB bodies in a roll over, and a MP/LB will roll over! Not to mention how cheap they are. No, they are not the most realisticly moulded bodies on the market.

Another option is scale toy bodies in 1/14 or 1/12 scale. Just have to measure them to see if they are close to the very short wheelbase of the MP/LB chassis.

I have a toy New Bright Chevy Pickup body on my Lunchbox for when it's on the shelf and a Kamtec lexan body for running.

  4. Hi,

I have just finished building a new pumpkin and wanted to know what realistic options there are for alternate bodies.

I have no problem making body mounts, but wanted to know, would a sand scorcher/monster beetle body fit? I know that they are 1/10 scale, but would they fit properly? Are there any other bodies that people know of that look good and fit on the LB chassis? I know Kamtec make bodies, but I have heard the quality isn't great.

    Thanks a lot.
