  1. Yeah that's 1040's. Same as what came with my CEN monster truck. πŸ‘ James.
  2. OMG well done Tamiya. A classic shell on a another has been chassis. πŸ™„. FFS πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ the money machine keeps on churning doesn't it.πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜’ James
  3. I really want an SMT 10, but the builders kit here in the UK is around Β£220. Add to that tyres Β£60. And wheels Β£40. Then a body and paint Β£60. And we are at almost Β£400 for a roller. That's just crazy, as the losi lmt is only another Β£200 and is almost rtr. James.
  4. Decided to fit my Tamiya Reinforced Adjusters to my monster truck anti roll bar links. Then thought about adding the other 4 shocks back onto it. Then thought ... Wait a minute I have finally got the ride just right. Ok so I take the oil and springs off the other 4 and have 8 dampers. But only 4 have oil and springs ,πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. But least it looks good I guess. πŸ€” James.
  5. As above. I have my 3.5T motored E4JS touring car for my speed fun. My CEN I try to use like a monster truck, small space and lots of small jumps etc. If you dont have a small space, just setup markers etc to make a large space smaller. πŸ‘ It can be alot of fun when you try to run them as scale as possible imo. πŸ‘ James.
  6. Jesus talk about bargains !!! Would have paid £60 for that DT03 all day long. !!! ☹️ James.
  7. Sounds great. Just waiting for the Β£300 price tag πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I really hope not, I would love a M chassis. Believe it or not I have never had one. James.
  8. Looks good so far πŸ‘. Love cats we have 3 cats a dog. This is our newest addition Willow. James.
  9. Nothing massive for me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Tamiya Reinforced Adjusters for my monster truck. James.
  10. Ok so for my CEN imo, the price was good, it is a RTR kit and for Β£220 ATM in most places it's a good price. Scale looks are good, the tyres are really good, nice soft rubber and nice shape. Same as the wheels, they mimic monster jam style wheels. The ESC is a hobbywing 1040 that can handle 3s. Anti rolls bars as standard is great. The body looks good and very scale like. Metal geared gearbox with swappable speed gear set. Torquey 550 motor. The bad points = steering is vague and disappointing being sat so high up in kit form, moving it onto the axle is a huge improvment. The ride is bouncy with the 8 shocks - 4 shocks works just fine . The wheels and tyres are pre glued. The anti roll bar link rods are too stiff out of the box adding to the bouncy feeling. Modding wise seems good, metal 4 link kit can be adjusted and extended, add to that you can buy non standard longer prop shafts to extend the wheelbase like I have done. There is an optional 4ws kit that looks good. Although it runs off the original servo position, so imo I would axle mount both servos and have a Y link cable. The 4ws kit at least adds the steering knuckles etc for the rear axle. James.
  11. So these arrived today ...... Nice chunky Tamiya Reinforced Adjusters for my anti roll bar links...... And then I started to think, it looks a bit bare with just the 4 shocks....... So decided that since the 4 shocks are just about right and I have got rid of the bouncy feeling. I emptied the oil out of the other 4 shocks and kept the springs removed. Then tried to come up with someway to fit then and the anti roll bar links at the same point. πŸ€” ..... Also my 109mm rear prop shaft arrived and yup it's one of those chunky 1/8 scale ones. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Arrgghhhhh ...... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thank god I have ordered some new Dremel grinding discs. Anyways happy with how it looks now with the 8 dampers now on. Even if only 4 have springs and oil in them. The other 4 are mainly for the looks. Much better. Oh and I turned the tyres πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ James.
  12. Yeah it's 1/10 scale but with 2.2 tyres. I think 2.6's would look better. Burnout more strain on the gearbox etc.πŸ‘ James.
  13. Haha yeah the tyres are on that way just waiting for the drive shafts. Then I will put the wheels on the right way. πŸ‘ James.
  14. Ok so got some decent day light today. And got some quick pics before the kids got involved. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ James.
  15. Bought these off eBay and they are too long and not what I expected for my monster truck. Be good for a crawler or if someone has a project. They are 100mm eyelet to eyelet. And have dual rate springs with an alloy seperator. They are also threaded so the top spring adjuster can be adjusted to suit. It's a shame as they really do look great and feel great quality being all alloy, even the top and bottom caps along with the bottom spring retainer !! Note - they don't have oil in them. Looking for a swap for anything, really. What you got? James.
  16. Having raced in the late 90's , the motor maintenance was a nightmare tbh. The battery up keep ridiculous. But ....... that said, I still have a soft spot for brushed motors (just not the cheap generic rubbish we see today) . Personally if I had a vintage runner I would love to run it in old radio gear and old tech. πŸ‘ . Maybe have an ESC though πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ James.
  17. Personally I would say it's upto the person who owns the vehicle. Same goes for 1:1 cars, where people would fit electronic ignition etc in classic cars. The way I see it is that it's totally upto the person who owns the car/vehicle, it's theirs and they can do what they want πŸ‘ . If I owned a vintage car and fitted an ESC and someone tried to give me a "telling off" , I would certainly tell them where to go and mind their own business. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ James
  18. Well today I received my shocks I thought wouldn't arrive until next week. They look gorgeous, but are a bit too long for my monster truck. And tbh there are not up to the job anyways. They seem more suited to a shelf car, like a crawler of some sorts. A shame as I say they do look good. Anyways, managed to get my longer driveshafts delivered and for some weird reason the end knuckle and pin is huge. Possibly 1/8 scale. Anyways after 10 minutes with the Dremel I got it to fit, only for my one and only griding disc to turn to nothing πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ FFS. Note to self order more Dremel discs. Anyways I have had enough r/c fails today, time for a few beers, film and bed. πŸ‘πŸΊ James
  19. You know ..... you can go off someone real quick !! πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ . Least there built and not NIB I guess πŸ˜‹ James.
  20. Oof that Mini πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘ is that Brilliant Blue? James.
  21. Sorry to hear this. I know this has been a great forum over the years for me, but some people will have no conscience in trying to scam anyone, anywhere. Hopefully it's just a weird situation and maybe they will get in contact and send your item/items. Def try contacting moderator / admin. Even if it's just to out your mind at rest. Really wish you all the best James.
  22. Now now don't be so harsh on yourself. There is loads of us to do that for you πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ˜‹ James.
  23. Thanks, got some oven cleaner in the shed actually. Well the dampers arrived and they are certainly not what I thought they were going to be β˜ΉοΈπŸ™„ so a little disappointed. Might sell them on, see if someone can do something with them maybe. It's a shame as they look really nice. James.
  24. Thanks, no the front is slightly less than the rear. Only about 4-5mm difference. The rear will need the 109mm propshaft with a foam spacer and the front will need the 106mm propshaft. James.
  25. Astute wreck you say? We need pics !!! Love the Astute and Madcap. Two I truly wish Tamiya would re-release instead or re-re-releases of other ones πŸ™„πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ James.
