  1. No worries ref the above but I'm all ears ... Where can you guys suggest within a sensible distance of Uttoxeter???
  2. I'll be up for helping as well BTW - Is the site in behind buildbase or teh garden centre, might have a "sneak" preview.. !
  3. Hi guys, I'm in Uttoxeter this Sunday so not a million miles away.. We were looking for somewhere with the Nephews to go bashing.. Is this a site you can just have an hr or so unannounced or is it private land and strictly permission only..?? An impromptu mini meet perhaps??
  4. I guess that sums it up - what sort of maintenance are we talking about?? A 4wd buggy used to a BMX track for bashing I'm thinking BZ is about right??
  5. QUOTE(CarKing @ Jan 22 2008, 06:49 PM) Can anyone help me out with the main differences between the Tamiya Type RR, RZ, and TZ motors? They are all listed as 23-turn motors, and all seem to have the same rpm range. So if they are so similar, why are there 3 different ones?!?!?!?!?!? The RZ (red end bell & laydown brushes) is slightly faster in a straight line (higher RPM) than the BZ so is more suited to faster tracks. The TZ (blue end bell & standup brushes) is the opposite, slower in a straight line but has the bonus of more torque so accelerates and pulls better so is more suited for tigher twisty tracks. The BZ is for off-road use as it has some built-in dust shields and has similar characteristics to the TZ.
  6. Thanks gents... What essentially is the difference between TZ/RZ/BZ???
  7. What could you guys suggest is a sensible step up (without being silly) for a std Fire dragon.. Running RS 540 Sport Tuned at the minute with Mtronics Sport Tuned 20 ESC and standard pinion / gearing.. Not overly worried reference torque Vs RPM just a good all rounder with a bit more poke that's easily compatible.. Got a reasonable 3000 mAh NiMH battery... Thanks in advance!
  8. I'll attempt the see if they are "fixable"... Cheers!!!
  9. It appears to be two out of the four (came in packs of two brand new) pre assembled and pre oiled- but the issue being that I'm not 100% if they are adjustable / re buildable.. Hence the annoyance, hoping someone has some experience with these before I attempt to pull them apart / send them back ...
  10. Just a bit peeved to say the least but not sure if its "self made".. Bought some Ansmann 201000038 85mm Alloy pre oiled dampers for my Lunchbox (with Sport Tuned) as a 1st hop up but after its 1st (and only) run yesterday (on the road outside) I'm dismayed to find a "wet" puddle forming this evening.. So.... Have I missed a trick and not tightened them, or could they be faulty... I'm 99% sure that I haven't damaged them so what's the advice... I would be annoyed if I had to strip them all out and send them back but not sure if that's required.. Any help appreciated..
  11. Thundershot body ..... Purchased! To box art or not though???? Tempted to do the blue rear section to match the wheels... Any thoughts??? .... And what's the best way to get the paint off the old "Fire" shell?? Also any thoughts on the driver with the new shell?
  12. Thanks chaps - I'll let you know how it goes..
  13. Just been having a good bash in the park today, but the standard suspension seems to have given up the ghost so that the rear is dragging on the floor and the springs don't seem to have the oomph to force the wheels into the ground.. so.... I'm going to re - build and tweak soon anyhow (a session in wet sand seems to have got the better of some bits) but is it worth trying to sort the standard springs out (strip, clean, new oil etc) or what would a sensible upgrade be??? Been looking at the Ansmann shocks which are realistically priced but struggling to match up the correct size open to suggestions on the above.. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks for the help and messages guys...
  15. Could anyone enlighten me as to what shell would fit a Fire Dragon (I know its a ugly brute at the best of times) - I would prefer a retro looking one if poss (Terra Scorcher ideal) and if it not tooooo much hassle link me to where I can order it... Thanks in advance..
  16. Ahh Ok - Would the standard (not 100% sure what it would be in the dragon) ECC cope without upgrading and what sort of sensible battery upgrade (to save me having 2min of drive time) would be advised if I was to go for the BZ superstock. What pinion would be advised as well...??? Thanks, Paul
  17. 2 x years ago I bought the missus a firedragon as she mentioned to me in passing that she used to love RC cars (I was of the Lunchbox and Hotshoot generation!!) .. Needless to say that Xmas day was a bit more frosty than usual for the time of year! Nonetheless we are still together and happily married now... Of course I thoroughly enjoyed 'her' present and have recently dug it out again to rekindle the bug.. Questions 1) What sensible upgrades would you recommend, shocks seem pretty flaccid and it's not THAT quick.. So what to do?? 2) I loved the build so want to start on another and would love a lunchbox but have also seen the Ford F150 truck which looks ace!!! So I need some help!! Paul
