Another vote for DF01.  DF02 or DF03 are good too.

Or you might like Konghead.  It does not wheelie.  But it's the gearbox from Comical Grasshopper, just that all 6 wheels turn, rather than 2.  Three times more gears to play with.

    Or Dynahead.

Much slower than Konghead due to portal axles. Rather like a moon vehicle or something.   You'd definitely want to get all 70+ bearings before you start the project.  Especially those tiny 3x6mm bearings.  4-5 times more gears to play with.

Sorry, not to be a spoil sport but the comical grasshopper is on a wr02 chassis I think. The kong head is a much more complex build on a Gf 06 chassis i think similar tech to a gf01 or the land cruiser pick up and dump truck, it's fun truck with good motor in it. I run an xl5 traxxas set up and it flies.

  2. For such a young hobbyist you've racked up some serious inventory. Many of us were like you,"too cool in school" we now look back and drool over what we should have bought and put away. Keep building and expressing yourself through your cars.... mine keep me somewhat sane..... somewhat... lol

The stock Konghead body has jumped it's last curb, and I don't want to use another stock body, because it's so ugly. Has anyone tried anything other than King Yellow or Dynahead bodies?

I've seen a custom Wild willys body on this. It looks real trick

  4. Mines a forum find about 4 months ago, one of the guys was selling his swb Wild willy project with 2 extra bodies and a near complete extra chassis. Having restored so many before my stock of other bits was good so. I build and sold a jeep for a member at $250 plus shipping restored another body and ended up with a premium swb Wild Willy for free. Then a week later a buddy pointed me at a WW in box on market place. Kid had 2 cars for sale a lancia rally NIB, and what looked like a partial but ww in box. Kid claimed only controllers were missing. Not a nice young man it turned out. Lots missing but both shipped for a steel sold lancia for 775 shipped. Ww parts owe me less than nothing

What’s the general opinion on the Landfreeder? There must be a reason why it’s cheaper than the others.

Licensing on the body shell is probably the key factor. It's generic. Not Merc not Ford not Toyota or VW

  6. So last night I looked over my new built Street devil, seems the Muppet that built it (not me) had absolutely no understanding of following instructions. Disassembled the front end and made the appropriate adjustments. RC cars of this standard should not be wasted on a fluffy brainless puppet figure. No disrespect Kermit.

  7. I started with three chassis's of which I wasn't sure what each were... 8 years later I have had up to 38 cars... currently at 30 and 4 are in bits. I am working on a Blitzer beetle that didn't sell a SWB 4wd wheeler. A parts hornet and my work bench looks like a table at the flea market... and not in a good way. I check ebay 4 times a day for deals and currently have a ton of stuff in three different shopping baskets..  you've got a ways to go bud! Don't stress enjoy. If it gets to should i buy groceries or a new kit then you have issues.

Haha sounds exactly like me, I was a huge RC addict when I was younger. Had a Toyota Celica GRB which I sold but thats another story!

More recently after buying cheap Nikkos for my sons birthday and him instantly being disappointed, I saw a lunchbox on a facebook sale page for £40 with everything and snapped it up straight away.

I fully expected this for my son to play with but I got attached now its mine, Since then he has an FTX carnage and is actually very good at controlling RC cars and I let him play with my lunchbox!

Since then we have brought a midnight pumpkin another lb and I have built myself a DT-03 neo fighter and I have a Kyosho Sandmaster on the way!

    love it!

Oh the slippery slope. 1 car, 2 car, 3 car BOOM your at 20 scratching the inside of your arms lookibg bcc for your next build. I started with a Vintage Wild Willy to relive my youth, now I have 29 cars, down from 37. Best of luck. Lol
