  1. Thanks for advice guys. Not looking to upgrade anything yet and am happy to just get it built and have a play around at the moment. Done a bit of it tonight and will carry on tommorrow. Enjoying the building so far!
  2. My first ever foray into rc. After always wanting a car in the 80's but never being able to aquire one and at the age of 34 santa brought me the 2010 Holiday Buggy. Well chuffed. Got the combo deal so got the stuff to get started. Box says its the red edition for the body and that it has bonus parts which i assume is the little pack of bearings in there which i think i've read somewhere that this is one of the things that is worth upgrading to from the start (as i said this is my first venture into rc so lots to learn). Now, if i can just finish my F-18 Super Hornet plastic kit i'll have somewhere to build it
  3. Vintage star wars figures! Ah the 80's, would love to go back!
  4. Building 1/72 scale plastic aircraft kits, mainly modern military jets. Anything else to do with aircraft usually....airshow season is a must for me during the summer! Collecting vintage star wars figures, got about 2/3 of the collection so far i think. Basketball...used to play but not any more but will still watch on tv whenever i can.

Hi Percymon, have you only been playing with R/C for a year then? 25 cars is impressive, where do you keep them all?

Already trying to keep that under control. My other vices for the card include having a stash of 1/72 plastic military aircraft kits (got nowhere really to put them once built at the moment) and trying to complete my collection of vintage star wars action figures! But your right, the more i look into it the more it looks like the bug is gonna bite!

Got the name at school, i have no idea what it means, what it was supposed to mean but it has stuck to this day. Googled it once and it came up with something to do with a fin on a boat or something, maybe some relation there to the surfer thing with the fin on a surf board, do they even have fins? Cheers for help lads. Think i'll stick with the fighter for now as want to wait and see if catch the bug or it's something i take out for a spin and a bit of fun every now and again.
  8. Hi there. In short, i think i might be getting an RC car for christmas, always wanted one (i'm 34) and just had a few short questions to ask before i dive in. Was looking at the Rising Fighter car with cost being the attractive option for me to get started. What's the general consenses on this car for a begginner? Are there any parts that will need replacing/upgrading at some point and is this easily done? With the radio and related equipment, can this be used on another car if i decide to buy another kit at a later stage? How much usage do you get from one battery charge? Is there anything else i should be thinking of? Any answers, help or advice would be great. Thanks. Skeg (nickname i've had since school, don't ask).
