What modern available bodies fit the early pan car chassis
30YrsL8r replied to Percymon's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I loved the DeTomaso Pantera (1:1) as a kid. -
Chubby Chequer Sorry - noticed you're from Denver; Chubby Checker (although that sounds very wrong)

Tamiya Chassis Lipo compatibility
30YrsL8r replied to tamiya monkey's topic in All things electric...
Possibly the best investment I ever made, these LiPo batteries I bought from Hobbyking have been a great fit in a DT-02 (not a shock, I suppose), my DT-01 (modified the tub, admittedly, but they are a snug fit), my 4WD Wild Willy (under the rear bed of the body shell). I recently bought a used Lunchie that included an old-school NiCd because I doubted my LiPo would fit. Needn't have worried.... The battery was a bargain, but it's not in stock at the moment: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=26806 -
Are there any other, more readily available bodies for the shorter wheelbase that were 4WD 1:1 cars? I'm thinking of doing another TL-01 cut and shut and would like to put a mini shell on, but they are FWD and I'd like to retain the 4WD of the donor.

I saw it more as a word of advice rather than a torpedo (they could have left the OP to waste his time, instead) but I guess if you post a "for sale" in a forum you should be prepared for people to comment.

There's a recent discussion of these two in the following thread (mostly DB01, admittedly): http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70908&hl=

Has a location/date/time been agreed for this weekend, folks? Might be able to make it but need to check our plans.

I'm hoping for a graffiti effect that's something like the one in this post, but on the bare shell.... it's going to be a combined basher/family heirloom. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65906&p=449731

Finished building my Lunchbox - used wheels and shell from recent purchase from LeeMutz (cheers) and brand new chassis from Modelzone Midnight Pumpkin bargain. Shell was black and red (over white, over red, over grey) but all that was quickly stripped off with B&Q drain cleaner. Now a blank canvas for my daughter to go to work on. Bought 24+1 Sharpies from Costco for about £10 after seeing the great job they do on Scorcher lights in a post on TC recently. I've asked her to use them on this Lunchie.

Willy's Nailer Scaler - Summer project build thread...
30YrsL8r replied to JennyMo's topic in The Builds
Now THAT is attention to detail! -
Been kind of distracted by other projects, including my Lunchie build, but I have made the rear roll bar and a strut to connect the two - working on how best to secure it together without compromising the strength (too much).

Seeking some insperation.. TL01 chassis and no idea what to do!

The thread I referenced above shows how I fitted a 15T pinion in my TL-01. -

Main Lunchbox/Pumpkin chassis tub; used elsewhere?
30YrsL8r replied to 30YrsL8r's topic in General discussions
Thanks for that - I see they're not exactly the same (suspension mounts have changed, for example) but I guess Mr T just tweaked the tub a bit to suit the LB. -
I'm constructing my Lunchbox and noticed that there are mount points on the main tub for the front a-arms, but that you actually mount them on addition parts that bolt to the tub. What models, if any, actually use the original mount points on the main tub?

Very nice - used to be the car to have when I was part of the rep-mobile crowd.

^Things might have changed in 6 years... and with 9 posts to their name, they're unlikely to still be around

Truly outstanding - love the sooty detailing on the exhaust.

Please tell me that green thing's not the fuel tank!

RadshapeRC (the people that had the bottle to open the new store that everyone was raving about in another thread) has the Holiday Buggy for £79. http://www.radshaperc.com/product/tamiya-holiday-buggy-red-2010-dt-02 The listing says it's free delivery on all kits, but the basket wants you to add £3.95 so that needs fixing. Never dealt with them, just thought I'd highlight this.
