  1. 5 mph probably the real speed to scale . But still be neat to see a video or perhaps put a faster motor
  2. Hey I was the one who posted last year about converting a road wizard with ball diff and you helped me out with it. Glad to see you have actually carried out with your little project. I think $80 is too steep for my budget to make the conversion. I am still trying to figure out a way if i can change only the gear diff but still use my original wheels, tires, drive shaft...etc. It be nice if somebody did reproductions of the 956/road wizard spur gear to come up with hop-up ball diff for these old r/c. I wonder if bought and mold and casting kit if i could cast my own 956 spur gears out of plastic. Then i could make a million of them and even send you a couple =)
  3. To start off I really appreciate the help you are giving me =). Ok, so I ran the test Hopefully I did everything correctly that you asked in the pictures. I kept the setting on Dc Voltage 20 on my multimeter for all 3 test. My batteries were not fully charged so I hope that didn't affect the results. I am using Nimh batteries. What's your opinion judging from the pics?
  4. The battery box should be ok because i tested it on my buddy radio which is identical and works fine. So i bought a multimeter but not sure how to use it to check my radio?
  5. Hmm i don't have a multimeter.....or ever used one before. I took it appart, but it seems like there is 2 pcb board ontop of one another that is solder. For me to get access to the On/off Switch I would have to unsolder the top pcb board . Problem is i don't even know if that is the root of the issue. headache, headache.... The Precious is the Predecessor of the Ko Mars, virtually look identical almost. It uses 8 nicd place in a battery tray. Check out the pics tell me if you spot anything i should be aware of?
  6. I have a KO Propo EX1 Precious from the 90s that worked perfectly fine the last time i used it. I had it in storage for the last 10 years and now it won't it even turn on. Does anybody know what could be the cause? Anybody experincing same issues with old radios? The metal tabs for the battery are clean, no corrosion, battery acid or anything. Anybody have any idea on the reason or possible fix?
  7. Oh did you have to spray the body or did you leave it the plastic color, its hard to tell. I am horrible at painting anything at the surface level that involves paint and clear coats.
  8. Wow this thing looks exactly like the original even got the side holes for mounting the original Ligier CS F1. What is this Rear Aluminum Wing Holder thing your talking about that i have to cut out of sheet metal? I can't seem to spot what that is from your f104 pic? Man.....i can't stop staring at the pics of your 2 Ligiers.......i am freaking in in love with it.... Hey do u know if this will fit a f103 chassis?
  9. Lous is like 2 and half hour drive from Toronto
  10. Oh sweet!!! Awesome modd, did you do a test drive yet? Cleaver idea with the knitting needle. Thanks!!! I can't drive into the sunset, were cover in snow here, I'll have to wait til summer!
  11. it looks like has the parts are stuff under the body, u can see it through the cockpit hole and air intake hole to the left of it. I don't own a f104, I wonder if u can custom fit it for f103 or if the holes for mounting it will line up?
  12. I found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/84146-7-Tamiya-Ope...6#ht_753wt_1090 not sure if its a legit release or not buy tamiya because i cannot find any info on it with the part number?
  13. Yeah, Too bad i don't have access to a CNC milling machine or know how to use one. I mean i just need to make the 2 halves that clamp the spur gear on a ball differential. Then i can buy any spur 64 pitch gear out there, and actually play with my car and not have to worry about chipping my old tamiya spur gears. If one rc company or person out there would make that piece it can be used in all the older tamiya rc that use that same gear diff setup.
  14. yeah... thanks for the suggestion but i would want to keep my road wizard as pure as possible only changing the diff if I can. Taking a f103 motor mount and drilling holes is not ideal for me. Beside i don't think it would work anyways, because f103 rear is asymmetrical (L shape) where as the road wizard rear is symmetrical (T Shape). So if mount the f103 rear on a road wizard one rear wheel would be too far out the other would be too far in if u can picture that?
  15. I've actually never played my f1 outside. Do the foam tires get teared up on asphalt? I would imagine the expensive carbon fiber chassis would look like you ran it under a power sander after?
  16. Yup can go check out there website! http://www.universalraceways.com/
  17. Hey my Steering not working n my turbo hopper does anybody know what the reason could be or fixes? how can i tell if my servo is broken or if it just a loose wire?
  18. hey u know they open a new rc track here in Mississauga called Universal speedway, too bad it "offroad" indoor carpet
  19. I like the saying if u build it they will come! We just need a dam carpet onroad track in Toronto
  20. Yup i know of Advance hobbies. I haven't touch my f103 or rc since 1999. I don't even know if my car even up to speed with all this new stuff like lipo batteries and Brushless motors. all my gear, radio, esc is from the early 90s and still have nicad batteries. I guess rc died off for me as soon as RC champ Raceway close down if u remember them. It be cool if we can get together a bought of guys running f1s. So far I have me, my bro and 2 other friends that run f103s. I need more f1s ppl!
  21. I am from Toronto do any of you guys race 1/10 f1?
  22. Does anyone have one for sale? I don't need one mint in box or super mint condition . I just want something in decent condition I can afford and possibly play with, also somebody who's willing to ship item to Canada?
  23. haha my bad 5.5 years late lol. Is the a way to see all the forum posts at once? because i always miss them.
  24. I use wd40 to get off sticky residues, but you have to make sure you wipe it down with something with windex or something or nothing will stick to it after. As for applying the new foam tires. You can use double sided tape the thin type. . Apply the double sided tape close to the edges of the wheel on both sides depending on how wide your tape is. Peel it off a little bit of the film so you can get a grip on it. then slip your New tires onto your wheel make sure its align then peel off the rest of the film. Actually this is how Tamiya does it when i Built my F103Rs kit. Maybe u can look up this manual if u can't picture what I'm describing. It could be double sided type because i have similar experince when it get really old the some tape dissolves resembling glue yet remains sticky on the hands.
  25. Hey i was wondering out there has anybody ever found or build a conversion to change the Gear diff system into a modern day Ball diff system with 64 pitch spur gear for the Road wizard or any older tamiya kits that uses a gear diff. I wonder if any of the Associated ball diff system can be fitted into a road wizard or if any other brands can be made to fit with adapters or what not? I only own tamiya parts so i can't try to see what brands can be or cannot be intermix. I was even trying to see if i can fit a f103 diff but the shaft is thicker and alignment is all different. Or if anybody has any feed back on how about attempting this project would be awesome.
