  5. i run my clod with the super rooster with 2 15doubles and 12v batteries with no hassle at all, just make sure the connectors are good ones and hard wire the motors as they tend to fry std connectors.
  6. REPLACE IT WITH THE BALL DIFF FROM A MANTA RAY,IT GIVES BETTER GRIP DURING ACCELERATION,A BIT LIKE AN LSD IN A REAL CAR THEY DONT TAKE TOO MUCH LOOKING AFTER AND ARE WORTH PUTTING IN AS MY MO3 IS BETTER OFF FOR IT AS IT TURNS BETTER AND GRIPS MORE!
  7. the only problems you will encounter is that next to nobody runs tamiya off road cars at races so you cannot get any setup tips from them and hardly any firm makes anything for them hopup wise. tamiya cars are just as competative its just down to driver skill. run it and see how you compare, ask what gear ratio other drivers are running to get a ball park start ratio, get yourself a decent esc+batteries as thats where the speed is and if the car is still not competative get another make of car or modify the car yourself with longer shocks, lundsford turnbuckles, replace plastic with carbon and alloy etc etc.

  9. after looking at the tamiya.com website i had a quick look at the tokyo 2005 model show,if you have a look at the frog section tamiya says they had a questionare about which car tamiya fans would like to see them bring back? and the winner was the frog! what! no rough rider or sand scorcher? hilux or bruiser?
  10. i know someone who didnt do that lol!![:I][:I]
  11. have you ever seen one up close? there huge compared to the tamiya cars,i saw the topforce lookalike at the nec model show and it must be 1/8 scale. and it was pants![]
  12. funny you should say that andy!,i did see him arrive at kidderminster in a transit tipper with a caravan on the back,he was eyeing up the scrap behind the toilets!
  13. we found the baja chump to be a pile of cack! bought oil dampers for it to improve the handleing, still a load of cack, put in a 19t orion motor to twitchy to control as there is no castor so it turns to sharp back of the chassis bust within 1/5 hr of running, ive had my terrascorcher for donkeys years and thats hardly bust anything! modern technology you can keep it!
  14. you could go and dig up chester fc's turf as they dont use it much!!!!
  15. got to be worth a tenner for the motor and shockers![] you could throw the rest away if it was knackered, but a good car in the day,id bung a truck shell on it and go bashing as them cobras are as tuff as old boots![][]
  16. I see steve's point of view in 2 ways, its like old classic cars, either you get an old one, strip it and rebuild it yourself then you know how much graft/money/time/love/attention to detail has gone in to it.it then becomes your pride and joy! and when people see and comment what you've done its gratifying.but when you buy one thats already done it's just another car theres no connection-just like re releases. Im not saying i wouldnt buy a re re sandscorcher or bruiser(because i would) it just wouldnt be the same. And i prefer 2nd hand cars as you can see what kind of life they have had since they were new(in the case of most of mine usally bad ones!!!)
  17. i must be the only one i know who remembers moon cat and co,at 12.00pm on weekdays, anyone remember a daft american series called "hardcastle and Mckormik" one chap had a old helicopter and the other guy had a daft kitcar porcshe917 kind of thing, top theme tune but thats all i remember. best british programme i remember was "the boy who won the pools" teenager won a million pounds and bought a ferrari 308gts also had a moke in it too.

  19. my music depends on the day, weekdays or before race day ac/dc or thin lizzy love 70's metal[],weekends radio 2 in the morning [xx(]and then stone roses/charlatans during mid day then back on to the metal in the evening green day always gets the cars back together before the end of the night[][]. must be related r/c cars-violent music [?]
