Blitzer Beetle decals - how to tell vintage from re-re?
kevinthegerbil2 replied to DaveB's topic in General discussions
I believe the Re-released set has a couple of black decals printed on it to cover up the mounting holes for the Sand Scorcher as Tamiya put both sets of Mounting holes in the shell. -

Last Saturday I was in Southampton Branch of Modelzone hoping to get some Bargain Tamiya 'Rattle cans' but unfortunately they was sold out! I looked at their Tamiya Range of cars and they had 1 Shop display Lunchbox for £99.99 and 2 DT02 Violet racers (1 NIB and 1 Display car) for £59.99. When I was paying for some Tamiya pot paints at 50% off I asked if I could have the shop display DT02 at a discount price as I was going to use it for spares. The shop assistant asked for a price and I just said £45. To my surprise, He said 'Tell you what I let you have it for £40', so a deal was done. He said that some people gave him some silly prices for the shop display pieces and since mine was sensible offer he knocked a bit more off! They gave me the box, Instructions, ESC and all unused spares. I will rebuild it with bearings as it wasn't built correctly and they made a terrible mess of the decals, but I sort something out about them...all in all a bargain.

I'm also looking forward to this. Brought some oil filled shocks for the Sand Rover (STD Class) and still waiting for the Nissan Titan to arrive for the modified class. I thought I be different as most people in the class be racing Buggy shelled cars (with rear wings) and I do like the looks of the stadium Trucks. I torn between using either brushed or brushless in this car but leaning towards brushed. Supergripper.....when is the booking in going to begin? looks like there's going to be a lot of racers!

Hi again, Since I be using the Sand Rover in the Standard class, I thought I may as well bite the bullet and buy another car to modify for the other class. I know the 58511 Nissan Titan Racing is a DT02 Chassis, but the body is 1/12 scale..... I just want to know if this body is still legal for the modified class before I order the kit?

I be interested in doing the Standard DT02 class as I got the Sand Rover. Luchbox race be good as I and the misses got Pumpkins ;-). Not too hard to get from Poole either. Do we have to use handout Transponders? I got my own AMBRC transponder as I do club racing.

I don't know is this been Posted before, but get enough Tamiya 'Farm Kings' together and do a 1/10 version of this racing :-

Jun Watanabe Hornet registry - who has one?
kevinthegerbil2 replied to XV Pilot's topic in General discussions
I bought my 'Grey' Import about 3 months ago. I thought that they wouldn't be on sale in the UK so that's why I bought it from Hong Kong (Got caught for Import duty!!). What's different to the official UK imported ones..have the importers put a certificate in with it? -
This would be interesting too. The original wheels were one piece.

Just Sorted out a couple runners which I hope to sell, almost RTR. Just need batteries. Ones a Monster Beetle with a Kamtec Shell (used in Tamiyclub Kidderminster meeting in 2007), Another a king Blackfoot with ESC and 40 MHz radio and a QD Suburu Impreza 99 in a good complete condition. -
I be there both days. Not taking as many cars as I have taken to Kidderminster as I have now down sized my 1:1 car from an Estate down to a 'town' car. Hopefully I will able to squeeze in some old Stock NIP spares for the Clodbuster, F102 / F103, Striker/Sonic Fighter, Juggernaut, TGX, Thundershot/Terra Scorcher to name a few! Going to be a longgggggggggg drive up from the south coast. Kevinthegerbil #107

All paid up and hotel room booked....just looking foreword to the long Journey up from Dorset!! I attended the Kidderminster events and they was just fun. Nothing beats the Lunchbox 'race'. For the T-Shirts designs I prefer 'A'
