  1. I have placed a preorder for 2 JJs with my local dealer. '80s nostalgia in play here as I am not even a 2WD guy. No DM for me. A couple of TD02 on the shelf and Yokomo SO 1.0s for the track (well, yet to see dirt as of this writing).
  2. See, I did not realise there is a 2WD spring set . Thanks for the info.
  3. BBS for BBX. Trying out the medium springs. Hopfully can lower the ride height.
  4. The wiring interfers with the body if one tries to tuck the wires under the body. Instead, I just let the wires run over the body in between the shock tower & shock. I will get a phot tomorrow.
  5. Has anyone tried fitting lights to the car ? I am having issue with the front lights lead interfering with the cut out portion of the top lid. I have removed the lexan to accommodate the lights but the leads of the LEDs interfere with the lid of the car. I have good results with these G.T power lighting system. Installed many of them on the CC02 Landrover.
  6. Fluorescent green backed by bright green. In hindsight, a white backing would have been better. Momentary lapse in judgement there.

    Tekno !

Racing got rained out so decided to work on the 8th scale buggy
  8. It‘s actually for 4WD with narrower fronts. Cannot figure out 2WD with 12mm hex fittings. So, settled for 4WD.
  9. I have a little spreadsheet to calculate the top speed for my buggies which provides some guidance on gearing for my cars on various types of motors. I imagine that I will equip this kit with a 17.5T (that's what I have installed at the moment) for stock class. Ideal (my opinion) gearing calls for a 30T but since it won't fit, I settled for 29T. That's just me being a bit of a anal retentive person .
  10. Deviation from boxart. Trying to emulate this color scheme
  11. Stickers therapy Not quite done but it is a handsome buggy. The JC silver Optima wheels complements the roll cage color well. PS30 Brilliant Blue is a better color choice than box art as many on social media has shown.
  12. PS30 Brilliant blue seems to looks much better than PS4 blue This is a handsome kit except for the wheels & tires. The silver JC Optima wheels matches the roll cage nicely.
  13. My first is a Hotshot bought in 1986 as a gift to me from my parents. I remember not knowing anything about painting and painted the the body on the outside & probably not using PS type paint. As a result, the metallic green () painted started to peel off real quick. Anyway, over the years, this kit moved with me from Singapore (studied there for 7 years) to Australia (migrated) then to Malaysia (back to birth country for work). Fast forward to present day. Decided to do a fairly thorough restoration a couple of years ago. Before the restoration. Not sure why I painted the mid section of the chassis like there's a hatch there all those years ago. Now the re re kit has an actual hatch in that same spot .
  14. Thanks for the catch. Sometimes the brain & hand co-ordination is a little out
  15. Just started the first build. A couple of things : 1) If one is installing the slipper, the biggest pinion that will fit with the stock Spur is 48P 29T. 30T is too tight. Maybe some filing will enable 30T to fit. 2) The esc plate allows for good sized esc but the shroud covering the esc if low profile. Likely it is made for Tamiya esc specifically. I cannot fit the Skyrc 50A esc if a fan is mounted. One likley position to place the esc is the back of the battery tray. If one uses a shorty Lipo, then this is possible. However, the esc would need to have a remote switch. My other choice, the Skyrc 120A, has the switch on the body of the esc. Access is too difficult. For now, the only other way I can think of is to dispense with the esc shroud and use a piece of polycarbonate (I have 0.5mm sheets) to fashion a shroud that will accommodate the esc. I have not tried this yet. Hopefully, there is not interference with the roll bar pillars.
  16. That is what I worry too. Mine is arriving today so I have no idea on the size requirement. The HW Xerun prostock 80A will surely fit but it's too expensive for this application. The Skyrc 50A one I posted earlier has a small footprint but tallish if a fan is added. Hope it fits. For 17.5T & maybe even 13.5T, it may work out. Well, my first choice is to install a 17.5T in one first. That is with the intention to run it (we'll see after the stickers are on)
  17. The track that I race at (just started this year after a decade break) in Perth, Australia, is a 10th scale dirt track. My track is also a dirt track. This kit will work great. Will need 1 for Malaysia, 1 for Perth & 1 for the shelf. Money not enough
