I broke mine this morning. Wondered if anyone had one lying around they no longer need. Just the front suspension mount for parts bag d I believe. Andy

They do look interesting thanks for the heads up. I was more thinking about something like an old beat up hornet or grasshopper or maybe a tl01. But I do like the look of those if not for him for me! Lol

Hi guys I am looking to buy my nephew a complete starter set up. Condition is not terribly important aslong as it works and can be played with. I would require car, electronics, battery possibly and all under 50 pounds posted. If anyone has such a thing please let me know. Regards Andy

I have one of those ropey escs in a wild dagger on 8.4 volts and it's fine lol a real bargain for 8 quid. Not fancy but works fine -

I have 2 spare gear boxes and was tempted to build a 6x6 wild dagger but it never got off the ground. Very good trucks though -

Lol it was meant to say dyshipfakta which means even less but did mean something about 18 years ago lol I miss Spelt and didn't realise but thought I would just roll with it. The dewalt is a monster I have had to use a very large 23 t 5mm bore pinion but it goes very well and temps seem ok and brushes are replaceable any who so. In terms of mounting it I made a temporary mount to test the principal and I am currently working on the standard mount with a dremel to make something more permanent. -

Yeah thats right wild dag stuff will fit. No problems or 55mm shocks will work on standard mounts for abit more height. -
what will happen if i run larger wheels/tyres on a buggy?
dyahipfakta replied to HomerJHandley's topic in General discussions
Just keep your eye on temps really. A mad bull Is just a mad fighter with huge monster truck wheels and that's fine. The 550 motors in the bandit have plenty of grunt I don't think it will really be an issue aslong as you keep an eye on temps for Afew runs. -
Orange juice! Don't risk chemicals or anything abit of oj will remove it nicely

My first Lipo problem - looking for advice
dyahipfakta replied to mr crispy's topic in All things electric...
Just worth a note a hard case lipo won't stop the lipo from puffing due to being duff. It only offers a small degree of protection from the elements and mechanical damage peel the hardcase off and you have the same thing. In someways non hardcase are better because you can see this happening immediatly. Lipo is probably a duffer from the factory some just are do you have a warranty? -
Silver cans on more volts are surprisingly good in this I ran them on 8.4 and 9.6 v and they run real well without going thermal and seem to last up just fine. Op could use the motors out of the e revo they are 550 with higher turns I believe but one is reverse tuned. Failing that I use some 600 Johnson eBay motors with neutral tuning and they go well.

I run mine on silver cans and 9.6v or if I feel like it dual batteries and 2 Johnson 600 motors. They are great trucks. Gearboxes are extremely reliable mine was second hand well played with and gearboxes were bone dry when I opened them up and there wasn't as much of a Mark on any of it still tight as a drum.

I have one of the cheapo dual motor on and it works fine. With 2 silver cans on 8.4 and 9.6 volts. Can't fault it at all never thermals or anything even with 5000 packs. You will probably get good ones and bad ones. The soldering sucks though like really bad but it's simple and works well atleast my one does.

What is your 1st RC thought when heavy Snow is forcast?
dyahipfakta replied to HomerJHandley's topic in General discussions
My dewalt powered emaxx and 14.4 v wild dagger were interesting. Turns out 14.4 v in a wild dagger in snow is abit excessive. Neither of which had any trouble what so ever. My mad bull however was a different story. -
For me I am a fan of brushed motors still simple silver can last forever cost pennies etc. For more speed just 4000mah 2s lipo and the accucel 6 turnigy to charger it. The jump between good batteries and ok batteries is huge in my experience. Failing that I have also run the stock silver cans on 8.4 and 9.6 v and they really fly and don't really suffer 20+ runs and they are still pretty freshz

My shocks are 65 mm and are pushing the limits of the dogbones because the of ride height. The handling is abit top heavy at the moment but with the twin motors and locked diffs it goes through anything at a fair pace too lol. The dewalt motor should be a monster at 16v its not as fast as smaller motors rpm wise but torque means the gearing can be very very tall. Have to admit I think the dagger is probably my favourite such a good all rounder. I run it on 8.4v aswell on standard silver cans and the motors dont seem to mind at all. -
Hi everyone Im new to the forum but been playing with rc for about 12 years I guess and have afew vehicles to show you. All of which have been low budget second hand builds with the exception of my tt01 that I got as a kit when I was about 11. firstly my spares or repair madbull. Only things I have done so far are to replace the motor with one from my spares think it is a 20t single unit, dremel the front axles and fit HPI rush front wheels and replace the rubbish bent metal rod steering with a tie rod from another random buggy. Works well apart from an absolute lack of grip at the back and aerial needs a new length of wire fitting. I plan to turn this into a sand buggy and have some second hand solid wheels for the back that I would like to fit paddles to if I can find some reasonably priced. My wild dagger I use this for bogging and very deep muddy puddles etc as such it is jacked up as high as it can go without popping the dogbones, I have moved all the electronics into the box ontop including the battery I have also siliconed the gearboxes shut and locked the diffs. The only thing that seems to suffer is the motors although at 2 pounds a pop and more then 15 runs on already these ones are fine so they hold up pretty well. Finally not tamiya but worth a brief mention is my emaxx by traxxas it has 2 600 johnson motors as the first 2 original ones blew up on run 2 of my ownership. I have being delivered a single 820 dewalt motor from a hammer drill that I am going to convert to go into this. Should give it out rageous torque but we shall see. In addition I have a tt01 aswell that is all but standard etc ball races and also a baja champ on tl01b that I have restored to standard to give to my nephews to play with. Any comments welcomed
