Blackfoot Xtreme Ball Diff
-=Jeff=- replied to Chris_Chris's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Ah the gears inside the gear. I know Ideas about them somewhere. My 4wd BFX does reverse donuts quite well -
SO I got the Chassis.. Full Bearings and hex screws everywhere.. What it needs: 2 hex drives and Pins Motor and motor mounting screws ESC Steering Servo Radio gear Tires Body I have the 2 hex drives and I have 2 pins, although I am thinking one of my trucks might be missing a pin.. With my narrow stance Clod body I might put 1.9s on it ( Wild Willy Wheels) then use the Black foot wheels on this chassis. I have a 20t pinion and a silver can that will work to power it Thinking about a body I might do the Jeep but have not given it much thought

The shafts and main cup drives? All I know is the BFX has a pre assembled Gearbox and then the cup drives with dong bones to the axles.. unless you do an axle/universal on the drive shaft -
<p>Your pictures are not showing up.. Looking at this picture.. I feel the wheels are a bit on the big side.. if I trim some of the fender in front I can drop the body down a bit though. I honestly think a wide 1.9 might look good..

Could anyone post the overall diamter of the WW2 wheel and tire combination? Thanks

Updated Stance using TL01 parts: I am still waiting for the Steering Tie rods.. I ordered the wrong ones and need to order the correct ones. I did use the 12mm Hexs from 2 sets of TL01 Toe in kits to push the wheels out a bit and along with that used the longer wheel axles: Once I get the Steering worked I can determine body height and might have to trim the rear of the front wheel wells for clearance I am starting to think I need 1.9s on this with a smaller dia tire

You are probably going to need these... http://www.ebay.com/...=item1e4b69c36a -
I found a Pro-Line one.. that might work.. there are a couple others too.. I even thought about a Grave Digger body too.. being this one is 2wd I am debating on trying the larger tires I have too.. make it a monster.. then convert it to 4wd later.. LOL

So I snagged another WR01 chassis from eBay.. needs electronics, wheels and a body. I would like a lexan body (wr01 specific would be nice) This one will stay 2wd for now, probably get a silver can with a 20t pinion.. I would like to find a decent body for it as it will probably be painted pink for my daughter.. any ideas on a body for this rig? Now we are up to 4 RC cars in the house.. my 1985 Monogram Thunder my 4x4 Clod bodied BFX My son's Dual Hunter and now this chassis

Yeah it does.. wonder if I can get close with the dagger chassis
-
Yeah they are close.. I was thinking worst case there is another set of Steering Arms I found with an angle on the arm. When the shorter Arms are in place I will run the deeper 12mm hex drive which will give a touch more space int he area of concern. I just need to order the parts and start swapping to the narrower track.. then decide on wheels/ shocks

Thanks bromvw I am leaning towards the scaler look so those wheels/tires might work, although the WW2 wheels looked pretty good with the body on the High lift chassis
-
this I will do the tl01 short arms (WW2) get smaller wheels and make it look more like a scaler.. Wish I had the extra $$ for the F350 High Lift, but not this year

Thanks guys..

What size are they? Also do both front and rear have hex? curious on the ones from the WR-02 chassis.. Reason I ask is I saw this in the showroom: http://www.tamiyaclu...52100&sid=14438 and I think the wheels fit it just right.. Now I know this is in a High lift Chassis which I would love to do, but I would really like to try the wheels on my Blackfoot chassis with the Clod body, although I think I will still need to bring the wheels in a bit to make it look a bit better then the current form

I am using Tamiya RS540 Sport Tuned on my Blackfoot.. happy so far -
Thanks for the compliment.. I still think it would look a bit better if the track was a bit narrower
-
So I have not done much to this truck lately. but keep thinking I need to change it a bit. I want to bring the wheels in closer to the body. so this brings the question, the WR01 chassis uses TL01B arms for suspension, how much shorter are the TL01 arms or the TL01LA Arms I am not sure I want to use the TL01 arms as it might bring the wheels in closer then I want.. so I am looking for Ideas to bring the wheels in about 1/2-3/4 inch

Now THIS is wild!! Check put this Giant tire:

Keep us posted on the reply What mods are you thinking of? -
Yes just wire one motor in reverse of the others. The XL5 does not specifically state it will support dual motors but it will support down to ta 13T I think so 2 Silver cans parallel wired is around 13-14T I had read on the clod forums that many people used this or stepped up to the EVX-2. I don't know much on Vintage, my vintage stuff was all MSC. Hope that helps
