  1. Not sure I had it out last year at all honestly.. I used them in the winter of 2012/2013, but got disappointed due to the open Diff

I have 3 in various stages.. the Blackfoot 4x4, my son has a Dual Hunter and my daughter has a Blackfoot with Parma Beetle body.. her si next to be converted to 4wd

I just installed a set of Traxxas shocks rear has white springs and front is red and have no clue which is stiffer

anyway a quick pic of it on pavement

It needs a wheelie bar, I flipped it a couple times

  2. yeah I thought for a few days between the GT2B, GT3B, and GT3C. I have limited extra funds to use for this and other things so as a balance I went with the GT3B.

the GT3C is very nice but my concern is that in 10 years if the battery pack is bad will I be able to find a replacement.. I don't use the cars that much so I felt that for the 3B would be fine..

Besides I get 40 AA batteries for about $8 from Zeus Battery

  3. Info for the Drive cups and hexes:

the Longer hex drives are from the TL01 Toe in kit (Tamiya 53345)I had bought 2 kits for my son's Dualhunter and my BFX. I have the Toe in cups on my truck and used all of the hexes on my truck as well

The Drive cups are from a WW2.. I purchased Tamiya 9415592 that gave me the drive cups and the Dog Bones/Axles.. I thought of the wider stance with the TL01 like you posted but then I was unsure I could get Drive shafts/Dog bones in the correct length.

Here is a head on shot to show the width.

I just drove it in the snow this weekend and was an epic fail as the rear diff is not locked.. I am thinking of doing that or adding some thick grease to see if it improves for traction

  4. Lee, Cool Project.. I have 3 of these Chassis'1- Dual Hunter -Stock and my Son's2- Blackfoot Extremes, One is Modded 4wd and mine, the other is still 2wd and in pieces for my Daughter, I should just make it 4wd and be done too.. LOL

Nice, got one in the mail too. I will not be going full out with tuning (yet) but wanted to go in the direction of a crawler with 2 ESCs, 2x 55T and front rear steering (crab and so) and try do axle lockout with my FS GT3B.

Sounds cool with the Crawler setup, I think the 4WS will be cool too, I have thought of that for mine..

  5. I don't remember the exact color but I will try to check tonight..

    thanks for the tips..

sounds like I would do the Purple first, then Silver then some color for the windows.. I was thinking of Silver for them too honestly, but a smoke color would be cool as well

I also see you trimmed back the wing.. that makes sense although the wrap around looks cool as well.

I can paint hardbodies without issue.. but this is newer territory

  6. Speedy...

That looks cool.. my Daughter picked out a dark purple metallic.. I have not had anytime for it lately though.. I was sick and now I have to help my son with his Pinewood car.. plus being cold here I have no real place to paint..

any tips for masking it to paint the motor?

I am also tempted to make this 4wd and be done.. That way it is the same as my son's and I know if this one gets stuck and his does not she will be mad.. LOL

  7. Installed:

    Steering Servo (bought one today)

    Wheels installed from my BFX

I bought Wild Willy 2 Wheels for my Modded BFX, with the smaller Diameter tires I should be able to drop the body a slight bit

I still need an ESC and a radio, then a body. I will probably get another Traxxas TQi radio from a guy at work for a good price.. then the ESC and a body and all is good
