  1. Certain foam ear plugs have worked for me in the past. They're cheap too .
  2. Ah, but nothing beats the sound of an M-22 Rockcrusher at full scream. Muncies are good 'boxes (better than the Borg Warner T-10s they replaced). I was never a Toploader fan but the Mopar A-833 trans is one tough (and heavy) piece. 9 inch rears are a common swap over here too but again I'm a GM diehard so its a 12-bolt for me.
  3. Although I've been around here for about 10 years, my user name recently changed. Working in the automotive restoration field, I enjoy American Muscle cars the most. The toughest 4-speed manual transmission available in GM cars back then was the Muncie M-22. It was dubbed the "Rockcrusher" due to its rather noisey operation thanks to its low helix-angle gearset.
  4. Super Champ. I like the Funco/Bel-Ray Bullet inspired Rough Rider, but its lines are spoiled because the body is required fit around the boxy radio gear crate underneath. The Super Champ omits this allowing for a more slender look. Plus the Super Champ was always the ultimate factory evolution of the SRB chassis which is kinda neat in itself.
  5. I run a pair in my Mod Clod. So far they're great. I just got three more, one for a DF-01 and two for my rebuilt TXT-1.
  6. Holy back-from-the-dead topics Batman. I miss seeing some of these posters in this thread. Anyway, I have both a Mod-Clod and stock Clod and prefer the stocker. Mongoose is right. It perfroms just like the '80's MTs it was modelled after. Box-stock, the Clod Buster just has this menacing presence and size about it.
  7. Looks good. Folks can say what they will about High Lifts not be nearly as realistic as the Bruiser but they are better, more durable runners. Good purchase.
  8. Thanks guys, and thanks for the pics, Shen. I like the first aqua one but Camel yellow might be interesting too...
  9. With exception of my Lunch Box, all my other trucks are already red or black.
  10. Inspired by shenlonco, I've decided to put a new Jimny body on my old Wild Willy 2 chassis. It will have white wheels and yellow CVA shocks. Red and black are out. I was thinking maybe a green. I was going to do metallic green but then I thought of cobalt green (934 color). How does cobalt green look in person? It looks good in pics. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  11. Does anybody know where I can get some foam/sponge motor covers like the ones that come with the BZ motors? They used to be abundant in the 80's and with alot of brushed motors incorporating internal fans (whick likely suck in dirt along with cooling air) nowadays, they should still have a use today.
  12. I'm thinking of converting a DF-01 buggy to something along the lines of the Ford F-150 TA-02 truck. Can it be done and what parts would be needed? Thanks.
  13. yeah! lol . I like how your body sits a little lower than the Tamiya "factory" version. Do the tires have adequate clearance from the body with the suspension compressed?
