1. Monster Racer/King Cab with stronger BL proof gearbox. Or new monster truck chassis based on DT03-T running gear but with an enclosed waterproof tub and truck bodies. 2. Original Hilux/Blazer (we've all been pretty patient with this one ) 3. Hotshot II, it is time now! 4. Manta Ray rere, think I'd buy one. 5. More wacky stuff...Jun Watanabe Monster Bigwig maybe 6. Ball diff for WT01 transmission. 7. Some new shells - modern Hilux please. 8. Lipo compatability on Tamiya ESC's retaining the brushed/brushless option! 9. More hop ups for more models. 10. More G6 type craziness.

New Arrival (DT-03 Chrome Fighter) and a short introduction
Nitomor replied to paullyjay's topic in General discussions
I was fortunate that I picked up the Tamiya ones for £16 on ebay from japan or somethingm took a while to come but yes it does drive really well with the diff, I do think it's worth it, but as above, there are alternatives with universals, you can even use the drive shafts from other models info of which is in my thread iirc. ps. The diff is great as you can also tighten it in situ by removing one of the outdrives and inserting allen key. -

Just to clarify I was referring to the ball diff which I’m running... -

The diff works great, really impressive, mine is set pretty tight, I can’t comment on longevity yet as I haven’t used it enough but it’s a really good design, I’m running a 9T 4300kv (that’s a 380 sized motor so less torque which suits these 1:10’s but with additional cooling fins so actually 540 sized). -
Sorted a driver out for my GF01 LandCruiser....those of you with kids might recognise her... I wanted Lady Glitter Sparkles from Trolls, instead I had to settle for her in pre makeover guise as plain old Bridgette!!
-
It’s basically a big wheeled Avante! It has ball diffs etc too.

I guess the Vajra is probably the closest thing Tamiya has to a 4wd short course truck... Or perhaps the TB01 based Super Levant which may be more durable!

Rob's projects (latest - Willy's Brat, Hazard Willy, WW2 cutaway)

Fantastic work Rob and exceptional attention to detail as always -
Funnily enough my Bruiser is painted in Sparklescent blue, they should have used that!!
-
Will we see Tamiya issue a updated body for the Bruiser (as per the boxart in the video in above link) now that the Hilux will be being built back in Japan as opposed to Thailand or wherever it was previously being built? Hmmm, watch this space I reckon.

Some Toyota UK marketing... Last but not least more here: http://blog.toyota.co.uk/toyota-hilux-bruiser-full-size-replica-tamiya-legend Pretty good effort I say

Lol, I need a spreadsheet to keep track now, that takes care of the cars. Parts on the other hand, no clue, as you succinctly said, I keep surprising myself both good and bad with what I have got that I didn't remember having or haven't got that I swore I had! I was so convinced I'd bought something I went checking back through my modelsport history just to see I'd never actually bought it, just I'd put it in my wishlist! Nuts I've kept away most of this year but 'tis coming back around to Tamiya season!

That Torment is your issue, clearly

New Arrival (DT-03 Chrome Fighter) and a short introduction

On that type of terrain - Bigger wheels!! You could look at what I did with mine for some ideas which gets use on similar terrain...probably towards the later pages in the thread for mods... -
Yeah, what is wrong with you? I can’t believe you haven’t got a dozen kits in boxes to still build, a catalogue of to do jobs, a collection of 30+ cars and tens of drivers heads that need painting and taken over at least one room in its entirety in the house and the dining room/kitchen table!!

It’s as though the jungle came alive and took it lol!! -
Really sorry to read this. I spent some time off the forum this year and just ran a search as I was thinking of him just to find he has passed. My condolonces to his family and friends. The forums a richer place for having his threads and input immortalised here. RIP

Lol, hence all the monsterised models! I was 11 at the time, Lol, it sealed my loyalty with Tamiya though, I loved the Optima but it was a dissapointment, the school ground had tiny little kerbs and things that the Tamiyas would take in their stride and ride straight over, the Optima, er, didn’t. For my 11th birthday my old man did something really cool, he gave the shell to the person who made my birthday cake and they used it as a mould, so my birthday cake was in the form of a Turbo Optima. Wish I had a pic, it was awesome!! The car was black with 2 red pinstripes close together going down the side, the shop built it but the guy that worked there nicked the motor and gave me a duff, the owner of the shop clocked it when it went back in and promptly sacked the guy! If they re re it, I will of course have to get one, just for nostalgia’s sake and do it in the same colours!

I’m too scared to use mine for fear of breaking it!
-
Funny you mention those three cars, my best friend back then had a Ninja, I had a Turbo Optima and another friend had a Hotshot II running a Technigold with 8.4v. After having an indestructible Hornet before, I broke the Optima almost everytime I took it out. The front upright would break in the same place where it attaches to the lower wishbone everytime, it seemed to be made from a more brittle plastic. Despite being the best looking, I ended up trading it for the Hotshot II which was stupidly quick and as robust as the Hornet which suited me far better. My friend Ninja also kept breaking down, it broke on his bday the morning he finished building it! Some electrical issue. I also have a DT03T now, despite really liking the way it drives, I’m not sold on its reliability, once again the tub it is made from a brittle plastic!

Awesome as always, I agree that cab doesn’t look right. I think you’re going to have to fab the upright screen! You can probably modify the clod shell to goof effect, I was trying to find a close up pic on google, this was the best I could find, I assume it’s the original?...
