That's the great thing with these Chassis', they are so adaptable and just about any shell can be made to fit. So you've gone 4ws. No idea what an aliens apc is lol. Those wheels look good too though! I'm wanting to put some beadlocks on mine, decisions decisions. Was tempted with a set of Axial or Fastrax 2.2 beadlocks or go with Tamiya CR01 hop up wheels. I got one for xmas, and a Jun a couple of years previous. Hornet was my first RC back in '86 I think. The box actually states this is a Tamiya 40th Anniversary edition, as opposed to hornet 30th as most places advertise. Just wanted to share a picture of my two monsters...unfortunately these are shelf queens, but I'd love to use them!!! It's not quite finished, just need to paint the spot lights and driver etc. Oh, just for fun, here's the driver in the Jun; Cheers Nito

They are Tamiya Stadium Blitzer wheels, sprayed red, using Frog Hex adapters on the rear. Tyres are HPI Yokohama Geolanders with foam inserts. They really improve the handling. Shocks are Traxxas with shock socks, Absima 5th shock and HPI Brushless 4300Kv motor and programmable ESC, Junfac rear axle, that's pretty much it. Pic of tyres below vs stock wheel and tyre. Thanks for that, is that the tamiya landcruiser shell you've used there? Conveniently some of the redundant parts in the WR02 build are perfect spares for the WT/WR01's. Which is handy for me since myself, wife and kids all run this chassis for bashing. Cheers Nito Ps. Ps, are they the CR01 wheels and tyres? If so, I was thinking of using them on mine to prevent tyre slip being beadlock, with the BL. Do they work well? Cheers Nito

Excellent, thanks. That looks great btw. Something else I noticed earlier in the thread, I use HPI lipo's, the round stick 2s 4000mah ones, they fit perfectly in the battery tray on the WT/WR. Cheers Nito

Oops thanks. Sorry I was referring to the farm thing and the WR01, I didn't even clock the other tyres there. Will have to read more carefully!! But of course the LB/WW2 wheels are a different size to the other wheels anyway so don't know what I was thinking! Cheers Nito

The tyres are also used on the WT01/WR01 chassis, that is Dual hunters, twin detonator, wild dagger, blackfoot extreme, blackfoot 3, mud blaster 2 and bush devil 2 etc. Great tyres for bashing on mud grass,dirt, but wear quickly on hard surfaces as already said. I just got a WW2 WR02 for xmas, I'm really enjoying it, only got it finished this morning, well yesteray now!! Cracking little chassis. Cheers Nito

I have a fleet of dual hunters, mine, wifes and kids, I also,have a WT01 which imo is much more fun. The WT01 is brushless, the extra torque this has, and the ability to baloon the tyres means I don't really run into any problems where I wish I had 4wd. I'm a huge fan of the WT01/WR01 chassis, one of the recurrent problems we had was steering servo failure, that was on the cheap acoms jobbies. I ended up fitting metal servo mounts and a jumbo futaba bb metal geared servo, which quells wheelies with the brushless and steering is awesome. On the kids cars, we have gone with standard size savox metal geared servos which are holding up well, I only mention it in case anyone else has had this. As an evolution of this chassis, for xmas I just received a WR02 WW2 which I'm really pleased with so far, it's basically a swb version of a WT01. Curious they didn't call it a WT02? Anyway, it looks like the wheelie bar may fit perfectly on the 01 chassis. Another observation regarding the dual hunters and WT01, the gears in the WT01 are like a black nylon, as opposed to the cream gears on the dual hunters. I wonder therefore if they strengthened the gears later in the evolution of the chassis. Cheers Nito

Wow, what a thread, I'm a big fan of the hornet... Here's how I added weight to mine!! Doesn't the wild one have a shorter shock at the front which could be used as a 5th shock? Great job btw, Cheers Nito
