  1. IF you do decide to sell it as parts, could I possibly buy the front shocks off you? When I bought my Midnight Pumpkin, it was missing 1 front spring and the bottom mount for it, so I have had to use an odd spring that I had lying around the house (It's a different length and It's softer as well) and make up a bottom mount myself to make it usable, albeit not great, so It's not getting the use I would like to give it, due to the fact that with the odd front shock, It's awkward to control. I have also had to 'strap' the front end down with an elastic band hooked around the 2 front body mounts and over the bonnet/hood through the mount holes, which allows the front end of the body to 'bounce' about when using it. I am going to do the 'Tamiya Suggested - Pink & White' paint job (the 1 that was suggested in a thread I've posted up - http://www.tamiyaclu...19 - on it as soon as I can get it working properly and I can find the transfers at the 'Right Price'. Aaron.
  2. I will be doing the Pink & White paint job, as soon as I get some of the parts that I need to find to get it up and usable properly (When I bought it there was 1 front spring missing, so I have used an odd spring that I found lying around the house, but It's a different length and softer as well, Also I have had to 'make up' my own front shock bottom mount as that was missing when I bought it as well), so when I find these parts (along with the 2 front body mounts, as at the moment, I've had to use an elastic band hooked over the 2 screws for the front body mounts and through the 2 holes for them then across the bonnet/hood to hold it down). I have found a shop locally, that sells the Tamiya Pink (and the white) Paint that I will need to do the paint job, so that's 1 of the hurdles out of the way. The other hurdle is to find a set of stickers/transfers at the 'Right Price'. As soon as I can get the parts I need and the Paint, Stickers/Transfers e.t.c. I will post some photo's up of the paint job being done & obviously the 'End Result'. Aaron.
  3. Have you got a link or an item number? I've decided that it's got to be done. I will post up the progress as it comes along.
  4. Can anyone fill in the missing details on this paint job? (i.e. the bonnet and the other side). I really want to do this for my Daughter.
  5. My 8 year old Daughter has just told me that I have to do the Pink & White version. Where can I get the decals for that colour scheme from? Has anyone got a picture/photo of the bonnet decal/s, for the pink version? Cheers, Aaron.
  6. Hi All, 1. Does anyone know if these were ever made? 2. If they were ... does anyone have one for sale or know where I could get one from. I drive a real mk5 Cortina Estate and would love to have an RC version of it. If you can help me find out if they exist (if they do) and help me get hold of one, I would be extremely grateful. I know there are a vast selection of shells available and I'm hoping that this is one of them. Many Thanks, Aaron.
  7. I also had to use a 'Drinking Straw' to feed the Receiver Ariel through as the proper one was missing. It does the job OK though, especially as it is only to be a temporary fix.
  8. Hi All, 1st off ... Thanks for the help with sorting the steering servo problem out for me (see other thread). Secondly, Here are a couple of photo's of my New (Secondhand) Toy, the midnight Pumpkin. I was in the middle of sorting out the steering servo when these photo's were taken, so thats why the front wheels are pointing inwards. I'm going to be changing the shocks over soon and getting some body mounts ... I only have the 2 rear ones on it at the moment because I got it with them missing, along with 1 front spring and bottom mount for the corresponding front shock. I have used a spring and mount from a Tamyia Street Fighter (I think that's what it's called) Nitro RC Car, just to get it up and running. I'm going to be painting it soon ... any suggestions on colour schemes? I've got my 'air brush' out and now I've just need to decide on what colour/s to use. Also I'm hoping to fit some LED lights into it soon as well ... Maybe even some 'Neon' type lights underneath as well. If all goes well with this build, I'm looking into getting some shells and building my own chassis for them. I would love to get a 'Ford 150 Ranger' shell ... I had the original one in the 1980's and my Dad gave it away when I moved out and I've wanted one ever since ... the chassis on that was knackered, so I made my own up and it worked great ... I just wish I had taken some photo's of it. Cheers, Aaron.
  9. I centered the servo, before re-fitting the arms ... I have always just turned the Transmitter ON, then the Receiver ON, which should allow it to return to it's 'Natural' or 'Resting' position, which should be central ... just to be sure, I put a straight arm on it and turn the servo (whichever one I'm using) with the transmitter both ways and make a note in my head to see if it travels the same amount each way ... if it does them SORTED. Or is there an easier/quicker way (without spending m any money)?

  11. Cheers all, for the quick replies. I am downloading the manual now. I found the little servo operation reverse button and it swapped the direction of the servo so I've just put the arms e.t.c. back on now & it's running OK. I've just got to find some body mounts for sale now, as mine are snapped (all but 1 of them). Are the front ones different to the rear ones as it looks like the rear ones can't be used on the front because they sit wrong and the 'R Clip' goes through the hole at the wrong angle. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can go to get some Alloy/metal ones from (without a 2 week wait from China e.t.c. )? Cheers, Aaron.
  12. Could you post up a photo of how the steering servo is connected to the front wheels and also which direction the stub axles are in (to the front of the shocks or to the rear of them)? I can't seem to get my Midnight Pumpkin to steer right when I turn right or left when I steer left. Cheers, Aaron.
  13. Hi All, I am just getting back into RC Cars now after many years of being a 'responsible parent' (or that's what I was told I needed to & tried to be ). I have just got myself a Midnight Pumpkin which I'm in the process of setting up properly ... the trouble is: 1. The servo operations are reversed ... i.e. forward on the transmitter made it go into reverse (sorted not as the wires were connected incorrectly). 2. Can anyone PLEASE, PLEASE Post up a photo of how the front servo that controls the steering is supposed to be set-up as I can't seem to get it to turn right when I push the transmitter stick to the right & vice versa. 3. Can anyone recommend anywhere near to Cardiff, South Wales to get spare parts from? I only have 1 body mount and I have had to 'butcher' the one shock to get it together as it was broken when I bought it (second hand - for £15 with battery, servos, transmitter, Charger (which is broken) e.t.c.). If anyone can point me in the right direction (even if it's a link to the correct part of the site - I'm still a 'Newbie' on here, although I'm on many other Forums, mainly Classic Cars), I would be very grateful. When I was into RC Cars before ... If I needed anything, I just got on a bus into Cardiff, got off outside 'Beaties' got what I needed and caught the bus home again ... things have changed a lot since then, though). I will try to get some photo's up as soon as I can sort it out (take some, find out how to get the links to display in the new 'Photobucket' site that they have re-vamped, e.t.c.). Cheers, Aaron.
