I ordered 3 of the bottles of Tamiya Poly cleaner off Ebay last night. I will update how it works when I give it a try. Maybe I don't need a new Fox body? Hmmmmm
I did find one over in Europe, probably where most of you are. The gentlemen does not ship over the big pond to the US!!!!! DARN IT :-)I told him I would pay extra for shipping but now luck. I even asked a guy, who I have purchased from before, if he would buy it and I would buy it from him and I would give him an extra $40 for the body and sticker kit. No go.
The search continues........

The one thing you'll find on this forum is that people are very helpful , and tolerant . No matter how dumb the question we help . We all started somewhere in the hobby and we all had to learn somehow . Never feel your asking the obvious because we were all be the same point at one time or another .
Much appreciated Bromvw

I was thinking now that I have that and a fairly nice regular Optima ( needs cleaning ) i would live to have the entire Optima line as shelf Queens. How cool would that be?!

Congratulations mate, an excellent price indeed in the current market! Where did you buy it?
I picked it up on Ebay Sunday night! I was looking around at cars, I am sure you all know what that's like, and saw he had it listed for $1200 OBO. I thought heck why not offer 700 and see what happens? As soon as I hit confirm it said I won. I had to look again I thought I read it wrong but he accepted it. It was on Auto Accept because it accepted it instantly. Hey it doesn't hurt to offer low, worst they can say is no. I actually feel bad offering that low but it worked out in my favor this time! When I receive it I will post pics

To be honest I don't blame him for turning down your offer, but there is nothing wrong with trying your luck I guess.
Under auction conditions I'd expect the following prices for an Optima Mid, as to me this is their true current value:
Standard Mid - $800 to $1100
Turbo Mid - $1100 to $1300
Turbo SE Mid - $1300 to $1600
The guy currently asking $3000 for the Turbo SE on ebay is a good example of the type given by Hibernaculum above. If it stays at that price it will still be there in 5 years time.

Wandy you are really close on that Optima Mid. Just got it for $700 with the NIB tag on it :-)

Hey guys!
I occasionnaly sell stuff on ebay, mostly RC related, and never had any problems until last week. I had some spare HPI Savage parts, listed them, and they sold for 21$. After a week of not receiving payment, I contacted the buyer and told him I'd ship everything as soon as payment received. He answered that he never bought anything. And so I opened a case with ebay, buyer insists he doesnt even have a Savage in the first place and used some, shall we say, innapropriate language. After checking in his feedback, I noticed that he bought some other Savage parts in december, busted!!!!
So what happens next? Should I just cancel the sale and assume all the fees with this sale and relist? Will ebay force him to pay? Will he be able to leave me negative feedback? If anyone else has had similar problems I'd like to hear how it turned out as this is the first time I've ever had any, thanks!
Hey Pizza for sure setting up the "Auto Claim File" on Ebay for Non Bidders is the right way to go. I have done it, although a friend had to show me how. It makes life WAY easier for sure. Also my biggest complaint with Ebay is that people who don't pay doesn't seem to matter? I would have to think that sooner or later Ebay would kick them off or suspend them but I'm not sure that happens at all? Anyway set up the Auto Claim File and you'll be golden
If you need any help PM me and I can walk you thru it.
Regards,
Mike

Ok great I will give the Poly Cleaner a try! I haven't seen that before so I'm glad I asked.
I apologize to all if I put this post in the wrong spot. I am Brand New to this forum so I am still trying to find things in here. Please be patience as I have been on other forums before and I know it's frustrating when new ( dumb ) people like me put things in the wrong spot :-)
Thanks again everyone,
Mike

Hey fellas, and Gals has anyone ever tried to take the paint OFF a body? I have heard both that it ruins the body AND that DOT 4 brake fluid works?
Does anyone know about this? I need a new body for my fox (shelf queen) but if something really works I can try that?
Thanks for any help

I was reading some of the topics and posts here and man I have a lot to learn! Some of you guys are like freaking Rain Man with this stuff, it's awesome
-
Oh no I couldn't bring myself to build that Fox in the Box :-) I have a few I can tinker with already. Maybe one day but I just finished building my first Associated car. That was fun and way different than a Tamiya.
So what is everyone else currently building?

Bring back the FOX! I wouldn't mind and I have 7 of them and one is Brand New in a box with the original plastic still around the box. I don't care a bit, just want another one!
