  1. ESC is a Tamiya TEU-104BK. The steering keeps working when the acceleration cuts out. Sounds like a new battery is the thing to try. What sort of batteries are you guys using these days?
  2. Hi guys, Haven't used my car much the last 2 years and wondering if the battery is on the way out, or something else? When you accelerate full forward it stops, if you go up to roughly 60-70% it will run fine. Reverse is never a problem, only forward. One thing where it changes, if I lift the car off the ground and accelerate it's fine, but on the ground behaviour as above but not sure what this reduced torque setting means. It has an NiMH battery which is quite a few years old now, I've ran it through a few charge cycles, but the problem remains, voltage on the battery is good but I know there could be other issues. Cheers.
  3. It has an etronix one on there just now, but it's dodgy and doesn't always reverse, so may as well change thqat and the belts at the same time and get car flying again. What's a BEC?
  4. That's great mate thanks. What about the ESC, would the TEU-105 be the correct one for me?
  5. Was out having fun with the car in the nice sunny weather and a stone got inside the chassis and snapped the small belt at the back wheels. Seeing as that snapped I thought I may as well change both belts, but haven't a clue where to start. Are there any how to's? Or can anyone offer advice on the best way to go about it? One other thing, I'm also changing the ESC, would the TEU-105 be the one I am looking for, for this car? Cheers lads.
  6. Just a wee update. I don't have access to another transmitter. What I did was firstly reverse the front back, the car still woudln't go back when trying to use the forwards motion. I then swapped channels one and two. The forward/reverse then worked the left right controls on car perfectly, but the left right controls still struggles to get the car to reverse. Same issue once car is turned on it will reverse, but once you go forward to reverse you have to press sometimes 5 or 10 times. If you switch car off and thus reset the ESC it will reverse when turned on then the same thing happens, ESC problem?
  7. Thanks for the assistance guys. Seems to be it will reverse if you press reverse quickly about 5 times, sometimes does it after 1 or 2. A bit annoying but guess will just have to live with it. Other information that may be helpful:- ESC is an Etronix Probe Plus. Transmitter is an Acoms Techniplus AP-202. Receiver is an Acoms AR-301. Finally the battery is a 3000ma, the charger is a 400ma, how long would it take to fully charge, roughly? Thanks again.
  8. Hi there, Just got my first Tamiya car a TA04-S Skyline at the grand old age of 32 hehe. Car is used although has new motor and esc and for the first day it was fine. Unfortunately my 3 year old got hold of the controller, and now the car doesn't want to reverse. If I switch on the transmitter then the receiver, it will reverse ok the esc light comes on and it makes beeping noises, but once I go forward after that if you try to reverse the light just flashes and nothing else happens. Forwards works fine as does turning left and right, very occasionally it will reverse but this is rare. Is there something I must to do the transmitter or receiver to get it to reverse? Thanks.
