  1. Got three sitting in my eBay basket all of a sudden....it'll just take a couple beers and for the missus to go to bed and I'll end up clicking 'buy it now' !!
  2. Did you paint the wheels yellow or are they off a different model I've never noticed before? Tamico have a good website and I got some new re-release Boomerang decals from them for about ten quid, it's cleaning up pretty nice so new decals and body would make it look almost brand new
  3. The Grasshopper is a great first car to build and run! Hopefully now it's up and running (bouncing and rolling!). Handling on these cars is a bit nuts anyway but if you want it to be even more nuts and get a big boost of speed too you can get a silver can, standard kit 540 motor and an 18 tooth pinion gear (it goes on the motor shaft) for a cheap and pretty big upgrade.....and then you'll be on the slippery slope to wanting to own and mod every Tamiya produced in the last thirty plus years!
  4. Nice one Thanks very much for the rapid and spot on advice Danny
  5. Hello all Can anyone suggest a half decent (i.e. not too expensive!) ESC that will handle a Technigold and a Superstock RZ for a couple of my almost finished projects Thanking you, Danny
  6. Thanks fella I've got a Falcon runner with missing/heavily scuffed decals on one side and another very rough Falcon parts car that has the required decals intact so I guess I'll give your technique a try to see if I can't spruce up my 'good' one. Nice work, cheers
  7. Yep everybody's gotta have a Grasshopper! I'm sure this'll scrub up nice. Can I ask how you remove the old decals in such a way that some can be re-used? Thanking you, Danny
  8. **** I want those brand new balloon pin spike tyres!!! Nice score Seems a shame not to build it and take it out of RC purgatory and breatheven life into it, even if it just sits on a shelf!
  9. Well as (bad) luck would have it there's only CRP braces and no bumpers online at moment (at least on evilbay) but if they reappear I'll snag one and let you know so we can do a deal Cheers
  10. Yeah guess it's gotta be done. Other than take it apart methodically and take photos as I go, any particular advice from previous experience building Thorp ball diffs? Oh and how much ball diff grease to use? Cheers
  11. Hi all I've got a new in pack but very old Thorp ball for my KingCab restoration Should I strip clean and re grease it or will the three decades old unused grease in there be okay? I've only ever built a Madcap with a ball diff and the Thorp instructions aren't exactly up to Tamiya standards - I really don't wanna mess this one up!! Hopefully some of the gurus on here can help Thanks Danny
  12. I'm sure you already know but Team CRP sell their own hop up bumper and accompanying reinforcing aluminium underguard. I've got this set up on my Falcon and it's pretty tidy looking and definitely reinforces that fragile front bulkhead. I've got another Falcon I'm gonna do up sometime and I'll probably put the CRP set up on that so might be able to let you have my original bumper if you'd be interested in a fair trade? Danny
  13. Another Tamiya freak coming out the closet here.....got my first in 86'...'grew up' and got fifteen or sixteen more, starting about four years ago and still going! So many projects to finish (or start) Been reading the forums here for a couple years but just signed up at long last My wife's not always impressed with my purchasing activity and I do feel like Jack explaining his magic bean sometimes but in here I'm safe and sane....apparently !
  14. Hello all I've been reading threads for a year or two and learned lots from the wealth of knowledge on here, one thing I just cannot work out though is how to set my password to something I choose myself and therefore can remember! I keep getting told 'old password incorrect' (after I sign in successfully with it) and then go to the section in my profile settings where I can change my email and/or site password...... Apologies if this has been covered before or if it's a known glitch with the site but I'm stumped.... Any offers anyone....please!! Danny
  15. I gotta say that as the front shock towers look to be in one piece that you got the main Falcon issue sorted already. DT02 drive cups/gear box joints, Team CRP dog bones and front brace were all I added to mine along with a Torquetuned motor and though it's only seen light use it's nippy and never let me down yet. Keep on going and bring this one back to life amigo!!
