Rough Rider Mk2 Restoration Ideas
ddaenen1 replied to Cycledude's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
i would restore it to its original glory without changing any parts that are not original. Strip it down, clean, grease and change the switch back to original condition. -
wanted: M2.6 x 4mm countersunk screws (philips, PZ or hex)

And my dad's Cortina and Taunus! The Genk factory didn't have to close but the Ford management was too scared to touch Cologne as their had a CLA and their unions are very strong. -

Izegem is a bit off (like 150km off) as i live in Genk, the East of Belgium. Only known for it's former extremely large Ford factory and the local team being the cradle for football players such as De Bruyne and Courtois -

i need 2 times 2.6 (or 2.5) mm x 4mm countersunk to fix the main gear of my 2-speed nitro. I am more then willing to pay for shipping, but 10GBP is just over the top. Probably an envelope to BE wouldn't be more than a couple of GBP. -

the issue is the shipping costs. whilst shipping 2 of these would be a very small cost, vendors like kay charge 10GBP to get an envelope from the UK to BE. -
I had these on my Top Force until i finally found an original set hicaps which were the correct hopup for an original Top Force. I'll take any reasonable offer and ship worldwide. Paypal as a gift prefered. WYSIWYG.

They came with a Nitro car i bought a couple of days ago. Some research learned me that they are from a Kyosho GP Ultima ST Racing Sports. Will take any reasonable offer and ship worldwide. I accept paypal as a gift.

Well, i found out it is not. This is a Protech XT4 or also an OFNA OB4 or a Hong Nor OB4 or also a Serpent OB4. Bottom line, i bought it and whilst it is partially disassembled, it is absolutely complete with onew ballend broken. Aparently this baby should go very fast. LEt's wait and see.

From the front wheel hubs, this looks like a Kyosho but i cannot pinpoint which model. Anyone has a clue?

Thanks for the feedback. From what i learned mine is an alpha 2. The alpha 3 apparently has oil shocks. Mine has partial ball bearings, only the wheels, not the diffs. BB's for that are optional but still available. The car has a GX-12 engine with a larger than stock golden cylinder head and a rather large alloy exhaust. I have been looking into the 2-speed option that is still available in various shops but quite expensive so i want to see how it runs on single speed first. I bought this car as i wanted something simple to check out and see if nitro is something for me without spending top dollar. Any other alpha-spares that i could use or recommendations? Cheeers, Dominique

TEU301BK if you want to stay with Tamiya. I have both a Technipower and a Technigold running on this. Works like a charm.

I just bought a Kyosho Pureten Alpha 2 GP or cheap as i always wanted a nitro car to toy around with. This model comes with friction shocks which, while i am waiting for the replacement clutch for the worn out one to arrive, is the first thing i want to change on the car. I looked for original ones from the Alpa 3, but these seem very hard to find. Any recommendations on what would fit the car? Thanks, Dominique

Wanted astute parts and monster beetle vintage body
ddaenen1 replied to NameUnchanged's topic in Sales, trades & wanted
You might want to consider getting the 3d printed version as a temp fix. I searched 2 years to find rear knuckles for my Astute restoration. Never found them and eventually decided to convert the rear suspension to the Mad Cap version to move forward. -
Since i sold my Tamiya King Cab and Fox projects, i have nothing at hand to start with once my home renovation works are completed. I have always wanted a nitro onroad and have been looking into that and came to the conclusion that Kyosho has a better range in the nitro onroad market. Since it is not in my DNA to buy a RTR car, i am looking for a restoration project to bring a Kyosho nitro back to life. Looking for an older model to start with and not spend a fortune until i found out if i am into it or not. A Pureten Alpha or Superten FW-04 with engine and exhaust is what i am targetting. If it would have a 2-speed, that would be even better. No servo's or radio gear needed. I've got plenty of that already. I have found several on ebay.uk for a decent price but for some reason, no-one wants to ship to Belgium. Let me know what you have. DD

This was supposed to become my onroad runner but i simply don't have time. Comes as a roller with hopup dampers and diff-cups but without electronics and motor. The body is in fairly good shape but has some damages and cracks lower front side. Shipping world wide. Make me an offer. Cheers, DD

I tried many times but cannot find the time anymore for my cars. I thought about selling my restored ones but i am mentally not ready to part from them I do have 2 restoration projects that i will not be able to finish. 1. Original The Fox (#58051). Is complete but comes in partially disassembled. I also bought some original replacement parts such as front/rear arms and other stuff. All comes as a package for someone that has the time to give it the TLC it deserves. Make me a good offer. 2. Nissan Kjng Cab (#58081). Complete but missing the front bumper. The previous owner also made some mods to the battery area.I seem to have some trouble uploading the pics for this one. Mail/PM me and i will send directly. - SOLD

Looking a set of TA04 body posts. For the front, the ones that attach to the damper stays. Will take 2 sets if available. Thanks, Dominique

I have a TA05 ver.II up for grabs. It comes as a roller with some hopups.

for the first time in a long time - exchanged the blue sleeved dampers on my Top Force with original hicaps - bring it closer to the original state with original hopes only. Now i need to find the steel or carbon shaft...

Sorry but for some reason i was never notified about your response. I would have settled for 10Euro + postage or so.
