  1. Ok, just let me know. If it is still available at that time, it's yours.
  2. Hah, just found out it is the same
  3. I honestly don't know if it is the same. It's the original Astute gearbox plate and since that has alot of common parts between both models, i would assume it is. Ping me a message if you found out and want it. It's up for grabs.
  4. Hello, i don't have a complete one. What i do have: - gearbox housing - metal gearbox plate - gearbox side cover - complete diff (inside needs revision) - 77T spur gear (new) Regards, Dominique
  5. Bought this to restore but it doesn't really appeal to me and i decided to focus on getting the TA05 ver. II restored and pimped with original hopus so i am starting to collect some cash as this is gonna cost some Comes as is. The chassis is in great shape. The tires show some ageing cracks. Just make an offer. Paypal preferred.
  6. HSII. The bodydecals give it away.
  7. List updated. I am also interested in trading against Astute rear hybrid spike tires or any TA05 ver. II hopups
  8. Do those rear dampers actually work with the tube and the screw? I have a pair of those lying around but never installed them onto my Frog as the installation leaflet states that you have to make to cut outs on the Frog body and connect both dampers via a piece of tube which i wasn't so keen on.
  9. I applied the rest of the decals today which turned into a big disappointment. Now i consider myself better than average in applying decals, notonlybecausemydad usedto own a vinyl cutting shop and i have done meters of decals in the days but also because i spend alot of time on the cutting lines and right positioning of the decal before i applied it with a soap solution and fix with a hair dryer. Always been quite happy with my decal work until today. The big pain are the 2 "5" decals that go on the rear sides on the body of the Astute. There is just no way that you can these on without any wrinkles! I tried everything but they are just not right for the geometry they are supposed to be applied to I have them on now in the best possible way but not happy at all. The only thing that eases the pain a little is that i yet have to find an Astute image on the web where they are not wrinkled. In many cases, the "5" is left off and when it is on, it is also wrinkled. Still i am sad about it and i am contemplating whether i should remove them also. I will leave them for now, give it another shot to get them better once they are cooled down. There is no-retry here as it took me ages to find the original decal set. Chances to finding another one for a fair price will be virtually impossible. In any case, here the pics: Always interested in your comments.
  10. I went to my stash of parts today and realised i had more than i thought. Selling them off to start collecting money for my TA05 Ver.II project. Some parts are new, others used but in good condition without cracks. Here we go: - Astute front wheels - new: SOLD - Astute front tires - new : SOLD - Metal motor plate - used - Gearbox cover - used - Gearbox - used - Dish wheels front (madcap) - used - Dish wheels rear (madcap) -used - Chassis plate - used but in mint condition: SOLD - Front arms: SOLD - Rear arms : SOLD Many other small bits and pieces that may be of use to somebody but i wont list them here seperately. If you need anything. PM me. Pics i will send on request and I will also sell the whole lot at once if anybody is interest.
  11. One original vintage XR311 chassis in almost new condition and no signs of usage! This is an impulse purchase so i am not sure what i will do with it yet. Either a full restore, trade or sell it off again
  12. Another small update: i have started the decals with great care as i noticed that the initial adhesion of these old decals is not very good. A hairblower does fix this this Now that i am back from my 2 weeks in Greece, i will finish the decals and paint the wing. Still haven't gotten around buying rear tires though
  13. Anybody has a set of these that he wants to part from? Let me know.
  14. For those who thought i would never finish the Astute...BEHOLD! Major progress: I received the rear hicaps and rebuilt them and they do look great on the Astute. In the mean time i also got some paint and painted the bodywhich is an original one so it did not have foil on the outside so it was quite a masking job. To get the windows right i applied the window decals and masked the inside to the contour lines of the decals. The result is perfect Tomorrow i will do the rest of the decals on the body and then i still need to cut and paint the wing. In the mean time it's time to order the reartires somewhere. Last but not least i still need to do the bottom shell which will need stripping of the old paint and repainting.. Never stripped a polycarbonate shell before so that might be interesting. I have decided that this baby will probably never run and become a shelfer. Looking at the time i spent getting all the parts together and how scarse they are, it doesn't seem a good idea to run it.
  15. I don't know what happened with my previous post. I wanted to fix the image links and i got this. Can anybody tell me how i can fix this?
  16. Assembled my newly received parts to the Astute and painted the helmet of the Frog driver as i never really finished that restoration project.
  17. 1,5 years after purchase, i made some progress again ! Thanks to Tamiyabigstuff, i managed to get hold of the necessary fixings to finish up the front-end with the original knuckles and fix the hicaps properly to the car Now i am waiting for some original hicaps short from Australia and i will only need some rear hybrid spike to finalize the chassis. Got the paint for the body so with a little bit of luck, i will be able to present you the fully restored version in a couple of weeks.
  18. When i did my first Manta Ray restoration, i used all kinds of hop ups from GPM, 3Racing, you name it. As i got more into the restoration thing, i also moved more to original Tamiya hopups and now i want exclusively want original era-correct Tamiya hopups on my models I guess it kind of grows on you
  19. The world is unfair I have been looking for an affordable SRB restoration project for ages now whilst other members are stacking up the unfinished restorations
  20. I have though about setting up a scheme as there are no import taxes in Belgium for anything coming out of Asia. Only the US appears to be an issue.
  21. PM me if you are in search of an original set
