  1. Today I have sold my M38 Wild Willy. It was kind of in the queue to go soon. I liked it a lot, but it's to nice for my girls to run and I need to make some space... I did clean the majority of the disassemble L.B today and I ordered rubber shielded bearings and alloy body posts for it. I also found a rubber switch cover from 1982 for one of my Hilux, in my spares today and it is mint...result!!!
  2. This looks awesome Percymon, great colour and I really like the working lights as well.
  3. I've got a corker coming up for sale. Unfinished project from 1982, mostly completed but needs finishing. Wheels, chassis and body are almost perfect, but the grill slots and tailgate tabs have been broken.
  4. Thanks bruiserbuilder, I'm going to pass on the U bolts for the Hilux, but I have 3 other Hilux on my shelves that need parts, so I will be in touch soon!
  5. Nice buy z00ter, I like your style. Thanks for gearbox as well bro, arrived safe and sound Friday and the lot went to a new home 1st thing Saturday.
  6. Awesome Tamiya Sunday yesterday, tinkered with my Hilux in the morning. Bid on loads and bought nothing on Evil Bay....Phew! My 3 daughters completely stripped our L.B for a total rebuild and new colour scheme. This is my 1st Tam project and I'm really looking forward to it, we are going to detune it and go for the Mystery Machine look. Nothing to challenging or ground breaking but fun all the same! This is how it looked before the screw drivers came out to play! It was brushless with oil filled shocks and the 5th shock conversion. I will just change the ESC and motor to make it more child friendly, this way it will spend less time trying to climb trees or hiding under parked cars! The gearbox was getting noisey and one of the shocks was damaged so it gave me a good excuse to pull it apart.
  7. For me my big love is the BTCC touring cars. I'm an avid fan, always have been, probably always will be. I also started Kick Boxing earlier this year which I'm enjoying a lot more than I could have imagined. I often come back feeing like a broken man, but I think that's as much an age related problem unfortunately!
  8. This is great info. I'll put shocks on but I won't buy the sump guard. As the car is so original I want to keep it that way.
  9. Headlamp lenses are now fitted and incorrect cab screws all replaced. Shocks will go this evening and I'll try and straighten up the middle bull bar rod. Happy days!
  10. Sadly not the real deal! When I say 'massive' I mean 1/10 scale! The 'Big Price' tag is more down to this being the most I've spent on a single model and relative to the socks I usually get!!
  11. Thanks Tamiyabigstuff for the info, great little story with it as well! From time to time the front sump guards comes up the evil Bay for sale, was this a Tamiya hop up do you know? Shame of the shocks is I sold a set recently as I was sure the Hilux rears were longer..Doh! I bought some head lights for front yesterday, but the lenses are stuck fast to the lamp bowls. I've got 2 options either try and remove the exiting bowls from the grill or the lenses from the bowls of the new arrivals. Would soaking them or steaming them release the glue?
  12. I bought my self a massive Christmas present last week with a large price tag.....gulp. It will arrive from Germany next week from a fellow T.C member. I better sell some cars to make a special space for it.
  13. Sadly the last of my King Cab stuff went this morning, I'm still not convinced it was the right move, but I have got a few too many IMO! I'm still only about 10 months in to my hobby and its a marathon not a race!!
  14. Some vintage Hilux parts arrived today which will make Hilux look a lot nicer. Genuine old Skool spot lamp stickers as well!
  15. I'm pretty sure the Hilux rear shocks are longer than the SRBs. I printed off the manual today and I'll check out the part numbers.
  16. I spent a little time last night tinkering with my Hilux, the aim being too clean it carefully, getting running correctly and just admire it. I can't take any of the credit for it, it came pretty much as you see it a peachy unrestored gorgeous piece of T.C history!
  17. Hi Steve, apologies I missed your question! I'm pretty sure they are RC Lover wheels, I bought them used from another T.C member. They are really nice and I think they look the business. If I don't use them I'll let you know.
  18. Thanks Champ85, I didn't realise the lenses went in from the front that's really helpful. Next question is about the optional shocks, the front ones look like Sand Scorcher items? And are the shocks specific to the Blazing Blazer and Hilux?
  19. Ok, I've found the manual on Tamiya USA and saved it too my iBook! Lights next then....
  20. I've finally got a car off the shelf and I plan to just clean and tidy it up a bit and I've started with this Hilux. I am going to have quite a few questions whilst I get to grip with it and all things Tamiya! Some questions may seem a little daft and I'll apologise for those now, but if I don't know it's better to ask than break something by being heavy handed. My 1st question is- How do I remove the front headlights? They have been glued in very firmly and I want to replace them as they have no lamp lenses? I tried the usual route of easing them out by hand, but it isn't working and I don't want push my luck any further. My 2nd questions- I would like to track down the manual so I can print it off and set up the servos etc acutely. All help is gratefully replies are gratefully received.
  21. I had my first bit of bling arrive. I was thinking of having a very shiny shelf queen Sand Scorcher. I'm not sure it is just a phase I'm going through or not only time will tell!
  22. I actually got off my iPad and into the garage for an hour this evening, which was very pleasant! Just tinkered with 1 of my Hilux and gave the shell a gentle clean. Tomorrow I will add some batteries and see if she runs.

  24. Well I have sold my King Cab runner and my King Cab rolling chassis, which is a bit of a shame as I would have like to run it next year. But I have got something new arriving next week which will more than make up for it! I have also put one of my Sand Scorcher on eBay as with 99p auction with no reserve, so I hope I don't come unstuck....
  25. Awesome kit choice, I love the BTCC and Percymon is spot on with his comments.
