Thanks Kev that's really helpful. I've now realised my biggest mistake has been just grabbing any handset off the shelf and sticking the correct crystal in it and not having specific handsets for individual cars! Thank you once again.
-
I've just sold 3 more handsets, which I'm very happy about. I'm now down to 13 and I plan to keep 10 anyway, so happy days. I've also just sold one of my TA03RS, which brings me down to 30 r/c models. I aim to trim down to 25, but it gets harder to choose which one is next as the numbers drop!

Those tyres are impossible to find new and extremely difficult to get in good condition secondhand, them spikes there are like fairy dust Any other tyres you can use? Thanks berman I didn't realise they were so hard to get hold off. I'll use other tyres too run it and keep those one for display.

I'm going to apoligies in advance for any daft questions.. I'm now actually doing something useful with some of my Tamiya hoard and 1 of the problems I come across regularly Is the car/truck needing the trims set at the maximum top or bottom to stop the motor getting power or the front wheels being turned one way or the other. What is the sequence to reset the handset and receiver so that the trims can be used for minor adjustments? I'm pretty sure there is an order in which you turn things on/off to reset. Thank you.

Got my Hermes delivery Grumpy fault for the bag ! Nice man bag z00ter! It's got to be done! In for a penny in for a few quid... I'm told the yellow and black Beattie's bag with the Sand Scorcher on it is the rarest! -

I sold loads of kit in the last week or so and a car, so I treated myself to some new r.c kit that I will use. I bought 2 new ESCs for a forth coming beach holiday on Cornwall. I'm pretty sure these were a Percymon recommendation. -
We've got a holiday coming up in Cornwall at half term and I want to take two cars with us. The Xtreme went really well last time and it took quite a beating, especially at the beach when it got wet and sandy. So I've replaced the ESC with a Mtroniks waterproof and I've replaced the rear body posts as 1 just snapped in my hand. The ethos with this truck is too run it hard and on a budget, using as many bits as I can that I already have in my spares.

Crimbo is approaching and I usually get a magazine subscription and this year I thought an R/C magazine might be the way to go. Any recommendations?

Thanks z00ter for the info. Have you any idea how it works, I've got no idea what a slipper clutch does? Am I better off selling it on or sticking it a model that I use do you think? -
Finished setting up my BratFoot brushless which now goes like stink. Got my recent King Cab purchase up and running for a test drive today as well.

Sand Scorcher - to SRB or not to SRB...?
Grumpy pants replied to beefmuffin's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
This is a really nice twist B.M, it would make a nice change to the SRB or B.B route and I bet you have a ORV chassis lying around somewhere! -
Steve, it is definitely the lack of weight in the chassis. I was comparing my 2 TA03RS chassis side by side last night, one with electrics etc and one without, the empty one does sit quite a bit higher. It looks superb by the way as well, absolutely spot on. Very nicely done.

Sand Scorcher - to SRB or not to SRB...?

I've got both the B.B and S.C and I'm much more precious with the SRBs. I did get a lucky on a nearly new S.C that I don't mind running to much, the price was reasonable enough for me to be to be able to enjoy it more it. IMO the S.C is a lot better looking the wider front on the B.B doesn't look as nice too me. I've got a M.B body shell painted up to look like a S.C would you like me to post up a pic of it on the B.B chassis? -

New man bag arrived! This is the one I really wanted, such a geek...just need a T-shirt now! -
I sold one of my Super Champs last night, 2 chargers and a Discharger. The garage floor is slowly starting to reappear...... More to go soon!
-
I've just reassembled the 2 TA03RS GT1 Porsche cars I have, whilst I decided thier fates!
-
I just sold 2 more handsets and a RX, very happy boy. The volume Is reducing slowly but surely!
-
I sold a few on bits on the Bay today. Another charger, 4 handsets and an original S.S box from 1981. I still feel completely swamped with gear, but I guess if I didn't buy anything I wouldn't need to sell anything!

My new handbag arrived today, totally retro. I really like it, but I now know I'm a proper anorak! -
I had a quick blast on Sunday with my TA03RS chassis and it went like stink. I was very surprised and I went 'Ohh that's what the fuss is all about!'
