  1. Looking higher end than a DT02/03. I won't bash it but I do want to be able to enjoy driving it. I'm not bothered about a complex build although I do like the look of the Super Hot Shot a lot. An enjoyable driving experience trumps nostalgic or new to be honest. Relatively low maintenance, there is no point in me owning it if it's spend most of its time on the bench for cleaning or repairs. I want to it too look like a buggy and drive alike a probably edge to 4WD as I haven't got a 4WD driver at the moment.
  2. Stock levels and current prices is a very valid point. I've got plenty to keep me going until the prices come back down to earth. The Thundershots are a good shout, but I'd prefer the Terra Scorcher on looks. I'v just bought my 9th Lunchbox for beach duty as I am a little obsessed with them and @Saito2 tip Love Kyosho, particularly the 2014 re-release Beetle but that's a whole new rabbit hole!
  3. You are absolutely right of course- it's even in the name SRB, but I have had over 20 SRB's and 6 WO/FAV's and in my modest opinion they are great but anything over a sports tuned is asking for trouble and I am looking for something I haven't had or don't already own. By buggy I am thinking bigger wheels, better shocks, bit more power, less prone to breaking, single piece lexan body, sloping front, rear wing - like a Zahhak or a Top Force
  4. All fair comments Chris re durability or fettling, a bit of both really- I am slowing right down on the buying so I want to be selective, it is time consuming selling them on and I usually end up losing money, which is down to me. I like your DT02 a lot and I really enjoyed a DT02, it is a tempting idea I am also coming to the point where I want to be very selective and I want to try and aim for something I haven't owned before. I've owned 4 Wild Ones and 2 FAV's and I still have Wild One I don't want to run and spoil, which is me all over
  5. All great tips and good information to work with, the DT03 always reads well and is such good value but it does not really excite me. But I do like the the truck/truggy conversions that that @ThunderDragonCy and @TurnipJF have carried out, but I have a niggle about the front of the chassis breaking on me.
  6. Good shout I like the look of the DB-01 and I already have the GF-06 which is one of the best Tamiya I have owned so far.
  7. The Top Force is gorgeous and that's another point to the DN-01
  8. Loved my DT02 Holiday buggy for cheap fun to run- thew some hop ups in and it was great all round. I Manta is discontinued and is not quite there on looks for me. Love the Dump Truck, but I need something other than a big wheeled wheelie for a change
  9. This looks like a good choice, not keen on the pink or over struck on the body but a decent shout.
  10. 3 of my all time favourite Tamiyas πŸ‘
  11. I’ve never been bothered about owning a buggy, I’ve had lots of SRB’s, Wild Ones and FAV’s and most other types of Tamiya including lorries, but just the one solitary Gravel Hound which got sold straight way and I only bought because I wanted the Lunchbox it was paired with. Anyway I really like the look of the Super Astute, Top Force and Terra Scorcher but I would struggle to justify the cost of buying one and if it’s really nice it will just become another dust collecting shelf ornament. But if I bought just one buggy to run to scratch that itch what should it be? Durability, ease of maintenance, half decent ground clearance, good looks and buckets of Tamiya fun would be the list of requirements. Any recommendations? PS prompted by another Madcap just appearing on eBay πŸ˜‚
  12. Yes it is a digital servo JG, the noise took me by surprise to be honest but it does sound like it is making constant tiny adjustments As it works I’ll keep it πŸ‘
  13. Thanks @berman It will save the frustration of losing and then waiting for parts to arrive. I feel like the KH is a keeper so it’s worth me spending a little more on it sensibly πŸ’₯ I had thought about this fix, but I hesitated as I don’t want to put the fixing points on the chassis under pressure, but this sounds like it’s not an issue? 😊
  14. I have a new Carson servo fitted to my Honda CT which glitches when the car is turned on. I have tried two different T/X and R/X sets and it still does it. It works perfectly well, but it sounds as if something is interfering with it and I have to reverse the setting to make it turn the right way. Any ideas why or if there is something I can do to resolve it?
  15. Andy @Seacow if you still want a KH buy this one πŸ‘
  16. A very modest set of 3 Flysky receivers πŸ‘ Just some bearing out standing for me at the moment.
  17. Packed my just sold and last SRB lot. Took some nice pictures of the Super Champ to list tomorrow.
  18. I've changed my mind on running the 2nd Super Champ, so that will go on eBay this Sunday after my last remaining auction has finished. So my list is now- 1. List the Super Champ for sale. 2. Fit replacement drive shaft and cup to the Konghead 3. Fit my new radio set to the Konghead. 4. Take the Konghead for a blast in the woods. 5. Keep my hands in my pockets.... the most important thing on my list
  19. Packed my 2nd sold lot this morning to post out today.
  20. Sold and packed my Falcon parts lot. Ready to be posted out tomorrow πŸ’₯
  21. I think it looks great with the black and orange combo, it’s a race/rally car to boot so perfect would not be realistic. And let’s be honest, it’s far better built than anything Citroen would have turned out back in the day πŸ˜‚
