  1. This was a TC recommendation a few years back - pretty sure you can only use it on metal parts -
  2. A fantastic thread and 2 GH saved! Really nice that you worked on these with your dad and saved so much of the original RC’s 👏
  3. Small amount of progress this morning, battery stops, and tyres now correctly fitted , rear body posts flipped round. Herbie body shell delivered by @Busdriveryesterday - traded for a couple of pints of Guinness 😂 Electrics next and I’ll order some body posts. An 8 yard skip arrived today at home, so there be no Tamiya for a bit 😳
  4. These are all excellent tips, exactly the advice and help I was hoping for, thank you 👍 I suspect hop ups and after market upgrades are going to be hard to source now, carbon shock towers and sway bars maybe have to wait, everything else is easily doable though. Both chassis’s have been set up LWB, as the plan is to run one as a Beetle and the 2nd chassis is either going to be sold or it will have a Karmann Ghia shell. These are most modern chassis’s I have pulled apart and put back together, I’ve enjoyed the process and felt I’ve learnt some new stuff along the way. I’m looking forward to running it now and setting it up using the advice shared.
  5. I bought these 2 from my mate @Busdriver very recently. Having now stripped them down, cleaned, and replaced any missing or broken parts they are almost ready to run. I get the M-06 is not a great favourite, but any tips on how to get the best out of them? I’ll probably go no better than silver cans or TT motors and both chassis’ have bearings and CVA’s already. I still use NiMH and we are talking about light car park duty, I’ve got servos and ESC’s as well. They both have AW grease in the diffs too. Any tips welcome on set up or hops ups 👍
  6. XV-02 M-07 Kyosho Mad Van Arrma Mojave 4s
  7. You don’t grease the XV-01 and it is perfect.
  8. MK2 SRB’s are the best uprights to use 👍
  9. WD40 is fantastic for removing sticky residue 👍
  10. Looks great! I’m pretty sure the TT02D has been recently discontinued.
  11. @Nikko85 is very Knowledgeable.
  12. Time Tunnel have it at the reduced price as well now @ £199.00 inc delivery.
  13. Shock cylinders Shocks rods Chassis cover Wheels & tyres. These are the differences. @Andreas W is also correct about the Pro shock towers being included in RS kit.
  14. I guess then after that the difference between the kits, the are tyres and shocks? Just found the existing excellent TC thread - which tells me what I wanted to know 👍
  15. I can see there’s a more rally based model - Pro with greater ground clearance, but quite a lot higher in price @ £329.00
  16. That’s looks like a very nice piece of kit. Is there just the one XV-02 variant? How would you increase the ground clearance for off roading?
  17. A gorgeous collection @barneys66. You and I have very similar taste in Tamiya and I also know how thorough and skilful @jonboy1 restos are. Hope the selling goes well and the new owners go onto to enjoy these classic Tamiya as much as you have 👍
  18. Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙂
  19. You can Rite dye these wheels I suspect. BITD I changed a set of yellow Holiday Buggy wheels to black using Rite dye and they turned out really well.
  20. I’m up for this any of the above locations would work with me. I currently have 2 runners an XV01 and Blitzer Beetle, count me in for off road or on road 👍
  21. Thanks @jonboy1, hope all is well with you buddy 🙂 The question came up on Sunday in a chat with a fellow rc’er and a Google search lead me to this thread! What’s your thoughts on this question then? I went with ‘Yes, the SC is an SRB’.
  22. Great thread - my vote would have been SRB. But I’d say like the revised BMW E36 M3 - a Super Champ is an Evolution SRB 👍
  23. Fantastic LB 👏
