The "Postman Brought Me" Thread
Grumpy pants replied to backtomyroots's topic in General discussions
Rally Legends wheels and tyres (£20 all in) for my TA03RS chassis when it arrives. Great service, I can't really comment on quality it's the 1st time I've bought any! R clips, (£10 all in) because I never seem to have enough. From Timetunnel, great service as well. -
My wheels and tyres arrived today. No sign of the TA03RS yet though. I still need to order the bodyset, I should get on with it really..
-
It's getting better and better! The Blitzer wheels looked really good IMO.
-
I've been in the garage sorting out my Hilux, I'm slowly but surely getting there. I also ordered tyres and wheels for my Lancia 037 which I plan to buy very soon as well.
-
That's a great spot Steve, I've just bought the wheels and tyres...very happy with that! I'd better get the body shell next then....

My new Super Champ arrived today, looks very tidy. I will add it to my showroom soon. -
I'm up for multi buys Steve. I will need body set, wheels and I really fancy some lights! I don't think my will TA will be as nice as yours, fingers crossed it decent though.

Ok, so I'm totally obsessed with this link and the 037.. I have too say all the fun Grastens has with his Lancia have got me hooked. I took the plunge and I bought a used TA03RS complete as a no runner, as I can now see from the thread I could run it with out the expensive belt that drives the front wheels. Does £78 inc post and packing sound like a lot of money to pay for the chassis etc, the car looks to be complete. I have no idea, but I have a feeling this will be an expensive build.
-
So which is to best chassis to buy the TA02 or the TA03RS, both are 4WD drive, the Lancia was only RWD if I've read the thread correctly. Would just swap the front diff out for standard Tamiya steering parts to make the model more authentic?

I spent all morning and half of the afternoon in the garage with my Hilux. Bits and pieces all over the place, one now runs although it does need setting up properly and I'm now rethinking which ones to keep and which ones to sell. What a lovely day!
-
I had an hour in the garage today after work testing handset, receivers and servos. It was very getting a better idea of what spares I've got and what works, all good for clearing space. The Vintage Clod runs as well, which was a very pleasant surprise.

This is a brillIant thread, I'm really enjoying it. Fab upgrades and this will be one amazing W.W. Keep up the good work!!

4 new shocks arrived for my HPI Savage today, I'm hoping that when I start the work not too many other bits need to be bought! -
Took two of my girls to the park with our Re Re S.S had some fun with the local pooches! I took a good look at our Vintage Clod and realised it had motors, ESC and servo, I put and R/X and battery in it and it runs, result. That's the problem with buying these things and sticking them on a shelf or in a corner out of the way.
-
Tamiya monkey, I'm sure this thread feels a bit like you are talking to yourself sometimes, but please keep it going! I really enjoy your positive attitude in pulling the meets together and I really enjoy the clips of the meets. It's too far for me to come, but keep up the good work!

'in 12 months he has had 8 neg feedback and 4 neutral comments which isn't bad considering his score 17135 overall so id say it was a genuine mistake with his listing or he would have a lot more than 8 neg feedback' I am big fan of your work mr crispy, but this post does feel harsh and whilst it was frustrating I feel the thread should be deleted.

I got my savage chassis and front mounting plates in the post, v. happy about this. I also got my Vintage Hilux number plate and front indicators as well. All eBay purchases and great service from both the sellers. -
Ok, I ordered the replacement parts for my Savage, which wasn't too painful. I booked myself in for an eye test as I can't believe I drove the Savage into the rugby post yesterday. Packed away all my stuff from yesterday's outing and tightened up the S.S front arm which came loose and stopped play. I have decided to get our vintage Clod running, I think I've got most of what I need in spares and my daughter is keen to use it!
-
Awesome day, lots and lots of family all out and together. The XB.F and WW2 had a good outing, the S.S was tucked away after 1 battery use as the front suspension came loose. And the Savage was absolutely fantastic until I drove into a rugby goal post..so a few jobs to do on that one now!

You are probably right on this one, but at least twice the cost and definitely not a dead cert either. I received my last Hilux via then P.O and it arrived well beyond the paid for date and it looked like it had been to a war zone on the way to me. -
Up early this morning, put some bits on the Bayfor sale. Packed our Savage, S.S, B.F and WW2 for a family day out. Checked my kit and we are ready to roll!
