Holy shizz balls, that is a lot of stuff! Sounds like the plan is in motion to work through the list and no major rush eh🙂

    Ridiculous really TBH 😂.

At my pace, it’ll take decades to clear the backlog 🤣

I’ll get frustrated at some point and sell a load off and between now and then keep the slow mo’ on the go 💥

  2. Just had a happy hour tinkering with this one,  and as my last package of parts arrives from TTM tomorrow, I’m now very much on the home stretch.

I decided for now to run 55mm shocks all round, completely standard set up - 50519 Mini Shocks II, as they came with it.

Tyres are 50568 all round as these were new, but loose in my spares and unknown Tamiya foams have been inserted, I’ve haven’t glued the tyres yet.

It has a 540 silver can for now too.

My thought process being, finish it, run it, enjoy it and play around with set up as I go along, otherwise there is a very strong chance it’ll never get finished at all.

About £110 in now, not including bits I used out of my spares, which I’m happy with.

This is the most modern chassis I have worked on and it’s been more fun than frustration and I’ve both enjoyed it and learnt some new bits along the way -

  4. This’ll be my next project once the M-06 Beetle is completed.

It came with a 1060 ESC, TT motor, CVA’s and the wheels in the picture.

Unusually the front engined body and a rear motor chassis isn’t bothering me 😳

Shock and tyre tips for running fast on tarmac please - any essential hop ups will be considered….

I have a good selection of M chassis wheels and tyres now and a selection of brushed motors, silver can, TT and Sport Tuned to use before buying anything else 👍

  5. Small potato’s last night, fitted the servo and R/X, tested the motor and ordered a small box of parts from Time Tunnel.

Wheels/tyres next and then shocks while I wait for my order to arrive.

Not sure on whether to pick up my Grasshopper next or the M-08?

Soft front and rear, stock recommended foams.

Yep. Softs all around for me too. I've settled on the "54590 M-Chassis Inner Sponge Super Hard". The "50686 Rc M-Chassis 60D Inner Sponge" are fantastic when new but wear out and become ineffective in my experience. The hard foams stretch the tires a little when new but break in. The soft tires are very soft and have no sidewall strength. On pavement, my M06 is on rails and puts the silver can power down no problem with minimal traction rolling. The soft tires only last 20 or 30 packs though, even when rotated regularly. The tread just wears through to the foam.

Do you glue your tyres on?

    The manual says yes 😳

TT-02 is now fully ballraced, thank you RC Bearings!

The BSD Truggy I'm looking to sell needs a steering servo, as I suspect it has a broken tooth inside so the steering flops around a bit. I'm going to swap it out for the servo in the buggy and see if that works. The guy I'm trying to sell it too is expecting me to supply a new battery, as the NIMH packs it came with charge for about 10 mins, the charger says they're done, then they last about 2 seconds then die! Unless there is a way to revive them? I don't think I should have to supply a new battery for a 3rd hand rc car? Or am I wrong?

That’s good progress, bearings and a sale pending 💥

I’d only supply a battery if I had decent spare to include, but not otherwise.

  8. Body posts trimmed, ESC swapped for one with a deans plug and crossmembers fitted.

Officially LiPo only now for this car, my 1st committed move over from NiMH.

For me the Tamiya TT motor and 2s feels like the right set up.

I had the ESC, 2 LiPo 2S batteries and a suitable charger already, so no additional spending needed which is great -

I’m going to put some foam in the battery tray and call this one done 🎉

  9. I was hoping to buy this kit, this month, but all the £199 deals have gone - you snooze you lose 😭

Oh well I guess with kiddo 5 hoping to start Uni this coming September, it’s probably for the best 😂

Thankfully kiddo 5 is the last one to go, so there is light at the end of the tunnel 🔦

  10. I’ve got a few tyre sets now, courtesy of @toyolien

This chassis will be light to moderately run on tarmac - which tyre combo would you recommend?

    54995 M-Chassis 60D Super Radial Tires (Soft)

    54999 M-Chassis 60D Super Radial Tires (Hard)

    50684 M-Chassis 60D M-Grip Radial Tires

Any combo of tyres + or - foams?
