NOPE, that is gold like JPS, McLaren this year is their signature orange on black, but I can understand your lack of seeing one as poor Alonso and his co driver just can't seem to keep them running long enough to finish a race. IDK why Honda is having so much trouble, seems they can make an IndyCar engine quite well, I wonder how many times Soichiro has rolled over in his grave these past few F1 seasons??

Is this the perfect time then to ask for the 2017 McLaren F1 paint scheme then??? PLEASE

I think I have the old Black and Decker version of that toolbox, You reminded me I could possibly use that this weekend. Those look real good, I will have to see if you have any left when I am ready to get into something scaler WOW, that looks pretty mean and reminds me I really need to start building my M06 chassis, at least before the M07 gets put out. Is that an ORANGE Porsche??? My eyes used to be better, but now they are old.

Very cool video and stands out in purple!! I love the raiding of all the spare and loose bits from Tamiya's own stable of parts to make this happen. I did think it was funny the first screw you use after pointing out that you like to use the 3x12 self tappers was a 3x8 self tapper. EDITING. All kidding aside, I guess I know now who to send all this misc bits and bobs that is cluttering up my garage to, YOU. I know it will get reused and recycled into some awesome modification of a good ole Tamiya car.

Looking REAL Good there and I think you didn't have to paint them that yellow either, my 2 cents worth. I sure wish I could live with my parent, but I don't think my wife is ready for that dynamic. I think that is the same workbench from Harbor Freight tools that I gave my mom for her birthday last year, I built it for her in her garage and she uses it and enjoys it a lot, can't say I got to put a Tamiya car together on it, but there is some time I will spend with her this summer that I could fiddle with something there. I like the OD Green and if you want to hide the fingerprint should OCD come to you, well, you could go for a woodlands camo job on it???
-
Well Willy, as you say, assume it is FWD due to the odd number, but what a curveball Tamiya would pitch if it were AWD????@@@@@!!!! WOW Let's see

LOOKS GRRRRRRRRRRREAT THERE Tony, er Blake.

GOTTA LOVE AUTOCORRECT< But I am glad you are a dedicated enough husband to be your wife's knickknack shelf when your daughter leaves. Very cool clean up job you did.

Hey there Thunderdragon, I looked into that fact, it isn't simply a matter of width difference, but of the entire G or gear tree, they are much different and from what I could see in the build manual, the Thundershot is somewhat of a "closed" diff where the HotShot and the rest we are going with here are "open" diffs where they are only enclosed by the gearbox halves themselves. One point to make on the Thorp as I had one BITD. It is semiadjustable by simply removing the swing arm and dogbone and then pulling the ONE outdrive cup that slots into place and you then tweak the screw a tad for more or less friction. I have all the Thorp stuff here as well as the re re and vintage HS stuff, so perhaps a box to Alberto is going over soon. FYI, you forgot to mention to me you were starting this thread when we talked on the phone!!! GOOBER. It isn't entirely correct that you only have the vintage runner, you have a new build re re as well over there, or did you cat eat it??? Working on your request for driveline et al.

I sure hope that fellow camper got a help standing back up?? Looking GRRRRRRRRREAT there Sure, everyone says build it, I say go out and find a runner to refresh and enjoy the fact you have all the parts staring you in the face so you know what to find to repair said runner and you can enjoy the art as well as run one. That is the difference between 1:10 and 1:1 scale, you can have two without taking up the whole garage.

Its okay, EVERYONE that has heard or known about being a lumberjack has already filled in the lines in their head. THANK YOU George Harrison and the gang at Monty Python.

Not to correct, just that I was NEVER on Facebook myself. The site I was on was supposedly a NEIGHBORHOOD social media page set up in order for neighbors and neighborhoods to bring up favorite eateries and concerns and awareness of things going on in the vicinity. I am now DONE with that, didn't leave with a big production, just signed off, flipped em all off and told the page that begged me to tell them why I was going that I was tired of said of moaning and groaning and how negative EVERYONE had gotten on ANY post that got made. That said, I am saying this in a forum that actually gives a rip and can stay positive or at the very least constructive with critisms, but for the most part we all get along and we all "GET" what a person's vision is with THEIR particular model/post. SO there, it is official, TAMIYACLUB is the BESTEST, GREATESTEST WEBSITE OF THEM ALL. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go change into my Lumberjack outfit. Cue the girls

First time back after a 20 year break

Nope, not NOS, surprisingly, going over to Futaba's own website, they are still produced and ready to order. I was shocked to see you could still buy an S148, now that will take you back to the late 80's right there!!! I hadn't any clue I could still BUY one from Futaba, I always just bought lots up from eBay!@!! -
Get off Facebook and get on with it. I quit my "facebook" over the weekend, tired of all the moaning and groaning and such. People will whip out their fingers and text all they want about a situation they don't seem to care enough about to follow through and actually DO SOMETHING about it. Now then, how can you have patina if you go and polish it up all the time??

The "Postman Brought Me" Thread

It was Friday I think, but since it seemed this weekend was a NO COMPUTER weekend, just now get to say that ILUVMUD found me some CVA super mini shock piston rods and a steering rod for an M build, now to get another steering rod since I am not driving around a 3 wheeler. I did get to test drive what I have deemed a car named after James Dean's Little *******, don't know if the name will stick??? -
First time back after a 20 year break

I recently was frustrated at putting a "new" 3003 into a beastly little M runner. I just wanted to center the thing and since I NEVER seem to mechanically get it right, wanted to power it up and all trims centered, etc. Well I tried it once and it would go left for days and right for about 3 degrees. I thought it was my old radio gear and the lack of a short crystal in a "modern" RX, so dug around for "proper" crystals and tried again, same thing, thought it was my modern Tamiya ESC for brushed and brushless motors giving off too much "noise" so dig up something else, actually supply battery via 4AA cell holder and such, come to find out it was the servo, hadn't had anything like that happen that I can recal, so lesson learnt. I got another "new" 3003 and proceeded to do all of the job with mismatched crystals and modern ESC and all, gave it a test run and hope for more R&D with it before SCollins comes to Texas so we can have some parking lot racing. Ain't electrics from 20 or so years ago fun??!!!? -
Well, that Citroen does look attractive, I think the last Citroen anything I can recall seeing in person was a 2CV conversion truck/perhaps van in front of a home design shop that was touting French style. there is no IF on the BMW 2002, there is WHEN, I now have another project complete and need a little time to sort the mounts out, then I can post about the BMW. SPRUES he says, I didn't get sprues, they are aluminum and are in little baggies with some STRONG As..... magnets in them, so just a little fiddling and perhaps I will look again at the auction and see how they did it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272566832191?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As you can see, two styles of screws, but only one type shown in the assmebly, so perhaps the countersunk go into the body posts??? It is some figuring out to do. I have to warn you all, TOOK A MONTH to get to me via AIRMAIL????? I haven't ever experienced that before, so I don't know that it would be another purchase I would do from a misc goods dealer as this one. I think I would go to someone specializing in only RC goods. Prices might not be so cheap, but I might not have to wait a month either?? I don't want to say the seller sucks, but it doesn't add up and I wouldn't want to pass woe and concern into the community of TCers.

Looks great and in an environment I would expect of the vintageness of the car, thanks for getting out there and driving it. I would pick the Model A as well, good kid Why does that make it look so much better all of a sudden?? Perhaps because you could really pick it up by the bumper now??? Oh that is SOOOOOOO FLAKEY, but in a good way, NICE and sparkly in the sun, me like. WHOA, those seriously look like some new Porsche Fuchs throwbacks, NICE I am working on similar, sorry to hear your troubles, but you could work with standard M03 gear line and hex width and then perhaps your wheels would work?? I don't know myself, been waiting a MONTH for some "invisible magnetic mounts" to arrive, finally got here and now I have to figure out how to use them as they come with ZERO instructions. THAT is some serious torture, is that a VW Caddy you have there with your gear??? We don't get that many "City Vans" here in the states, can only think of 3 right now and they don't look as good as that.

Toys they AREN'T AMEN to that, Box art is soooooooooo overrated.

Me??? Whatever did I do??? I blame YOU for buying up all the ball diffs and leaving none for the rest of us. I would be happy with another rebuild kit, but it has to have the locking screw, heck, I would be happy with just the locking screw, doesn't seem it was sold by itself. BUILD ON -
Oh to decal, or not to decal, that is the question!
Crash Cramer replied to Buggyjam's topic in General discussions
I always vote for X-ray bodies, but I don't paint so well, I get it done for me. Decals are sometimes very trying to say the least, the smaller and skinnier ones give me fits. -
I think I can see the offset difference in the "dish" of the spokes. They look nice and bright white. Looking good.
-
Those GoodYear decals look great, were they MCI or another source??? In White too??

Guessing that was local as I still have the off white set(minus mirrors) and the Orange set here, but I think another USA member might take them off my hands now.
