  1. I hope to have some cool news on a possible upgrade to these tires in the future.
  2. That is some stunning work there Erich and Yea, I would be more than a bit bummed with the tires issue. I wonder if after you let the paint cure if some glycerin will soften up the cracks and freshen up that rubber?? The pharmacy might be where you find it, and hopefully cheap.
  3. I hope this doesn't sound too silly, but would simple lexan sheets work if one were to cut them out nice and precisely?? I realize the rear window can be a bit tricky, but there might be someone molding these windows in their own garage or workshop buried in the ground, to think, printing gold if you can make these parts that are unobtainable.
  4. You know, she might have better luck driving it with the tires turned round the right way. She is a lucky girl, hope you don't cringe too much.
  5. I know you are working on M04 bits right now, but I wonder if when you are done, you might replicate the most broken M01/02 bits so we don't have to continue to give up arms and legs to buy parts for broken cars. Just wondering, might have a pile of busted bits here to send you for research and measurement needs.
  6. HEY LOOK< I found where you were toying with the idea of the dash you are making now. How neat is that.
  7. LOOKS AWESOME THAT settles it, I am NOW sending MY VW Samba body to you for paintwork in Corsa Grey please, get the proper number of cans of white etc and I will need your address and such... My insults are not veiled, they are just vile. I actually dig the car, in all its funkyness.
  8. THAT is looking nice, for a Sonic Fighter, hides the hidiouseness a bit in matte black.
  9. I love to hear the whine of the gears and throttle control too, but I do think that some subtle Sax would be a good thing on that vid, not enough to drown out the throttle though, now if I can just shut the commentators up on my F1 feed, THAT would be AWESOME
  10. That looks nice Max, very nice touches, I wonder if a nice medium sized NGK red "meatball" wouldn't look more at home on the roof?? I like the way the red is playing nicely off the camel yellow paint you have chosen,, gives a different look to the Boomer
  11. Welcome back, if you don't like those wheels...... I think they look sublime, but are they for 26mm touring tire or what??? I bet they are now sold out, but if you don't need em.....:D I can't wait to see what you and SCollins throw together.
  12. WOW, that is some smooth driving, but I should NOT have watched that with my current state of vertigo...... Now, could you PLEASE add some music to this, perhaps some Yakity Sax???
  13. When you need a new body, I got a set here, perhaps I should bring it with me when I am up that way next year. LOL OMG, that is taking it to the next level on the video. All that scenery makes me miss CO that much more, it is well over due a trip to escape over there.
  14. Why didn't I think of plopping my M04 or 2 or 6 VW Lexan Beetle body on top of this chassis. Those "new" M chassis rally tires are hopefully big enough in the sidewall department to fill the wheel arches. I have to agree that the bumper doesn't need anything more on it to help snap into several pieces. I am interested in it, so we shall see how I get along with buying one.
  15. I understand that completely, I did get one at the presale price and postage isn't always cheap these days. I thought I had seen those plates before, is someone making them on SHAPEWAYS at all??? It would seem the best place for them, will have to ask PintoPower if he has seen them and their fruits.
  16. You CAN forget the gearbox issues, buy an MIP ball diff for it!!! HA HA, oven ready chicken, you could go and get a nicely already roasted chicken from the store that comes in a plastic clamshell and eat the contents and build your own body for the ORV, I know, crazy sounding, but hey, it would be free and include a meal.!!!
  17. Those blue mounts look a LOT like the ones I waited a month for to try and stealth mount my bodies to an M04 chassis.
  18. That looks a bit like that scene in Cars 3 where Mcqueen goes "undercover"
  19. A little blue threadlock is always a good thing to carry in the spares box along with a couple of every type of screw the car could lose. I use an old mint tin like Altoids to keep spares with me, the modern cars really only seem to have won or three types and lengths of screws compared to say a HotShot with seven different lengths of machine screws as well as three or four lengths of self tappers, body pins are always with me too. Sometimes I wish Tamiya made smaller tubes of threadlock like the switch grease, but then there would be no way to cap the tube.
  20. Oh what a bundle of joy, nice work, WHAT body is that in green? Looks like a truck from this angle. That is some information I will keep in mind for when I finally build up my m-05.
  21. I still want a chance at that Bigfoot body
  22. I have woken up, got to the car to vacuum it for over an hour at 9am and sweat out about 4 pounds, shower time to get started for the rest of the day before it hits 100 degrees.
  23. Of course you caught me on the way to my vacation, but I do have a few. Intake BW parts here, perhaps when I get back you can let me know what I have here that I can send you to help.
  24. Where do I start, this looked great in the few minutes that I watched the track work, but I admit to fast forwarding to the commentary at the end. It looked like it flew beautifully and it looks like you drive with the most conservative line you can choose and not hard as most racers I have seen in my days at the track. I would be supremely happy to watch this thing kick some serious butt at the local track and perhaps compete in a MODERN 2WD class as it is, as you say, NOT MUCH of a Hornet anymore. In that vein, it would seem to me you can call it SuperFly2, but like Hot Trick did BITD, you only bolted on a few bits specific to the Hornet onto your gear, so perhaps you can call it the Alberto or AMPRO Hornet and discard the Tamiya from the name, much like a Hot Trick HotShot is literally only like the HotShot gearboxes and perhaps front arms and not much else, even the stock body didn't fit the HotTrick chassis well. I too can't wait for your video gear to step it up and aren't you working on getting one of those cameras that follow autonomically the thing you are driving???
