barney buggy collector replied to Dr.Robotnik's topic in General discussions
there is a hotshot on ebay at the moment in colchester, england.i asked how much shipping to australia would be before i bid.i am glad that i did,he quoted 85 pound for shipping.i just went back into my ebay and deleted it.what a scam. -
i live in Australia and have been waiting for around 13 weeks now for 2 tins of Tamiya paint so i can finish the body on my F350 Hi-Lift.In my case it is the importer "Toy Traders" that is the problem, not the hobby shop.

Hotshot restoration project.....
barney buggy collector replied to Mankku's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
took the Falcon for a run today down the beach, just need to get the Mrs to bring the camera down on my next days off. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o148/da...jpg thats my Falcon, ill get pics of the Hotshot soon as i put it together, most probably a week or so. i just picked up another hotshot the other day for parts ,so mine and that one are in bits at the moment getting a good clean and going over and regreasing the gearboxes etc and also aralditing all the bits around the arm mounts to beef them up a bit. has anyone ever used the Parma slipper kit for the Hotshot?about the only spare motor i have at the moment is a GM 11x3,i think that might be a little to much for the old hotshot lol, might invest in a checkpoint 19 turn for it. -

Hotshot restoration project.....
barney buggy collector replied to Mankku's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
im also in the process of doing a Hotshot beach runner.on my Tamiya Falcon i filled all the little grooves on the arms around where the suspension pins go through with araldite to beef them up.a couple on my Falcon were cracked etc but the araldite has held up really well to beach bashing. i am doing the same with the Hotshot arms.hopefully it stands up to a bit of sand work one thing i dont have is the body, but the Hotshot still looks ok without one. -

Just scored a NIP Throp rear end for a Falcon!
barney buggy collector replied to veritas's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
i have just resurected my falcon with a beetle body for running on the beach.took it down for its first run this afternoon, fun fun.i think i will have to start looking for spares soon lol.i have found the rear suspension binds up sometimes with the stock plastic dogbone setup.i have got a spare set of drive cups and dogbones if they decide to die on me. what pinions does the falcon take?i think the stock one is an 18 tooth maybe? http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o148/da...jpg -

barney buggy collector replied to hellwheels's topic in General discussions
mine works great so far.handles the matched 3700GP cells no problem with the stock 540. only thing i dont like is the lack of instructions. -
An 13 turn limit ESC, to cheap to be any good?
barney buggy collector replied to hellwheels's topic in General discussions
only thing i was dissapointed with was not getting instructions with the esc from dinball.i did however get a little keyring torch thing but . i ran the f350 today today and it ran good,no problems at all with the speedy.there is a large delay between forward and reverse but that is a good thing. anyone know how to set up the futaba mc3300 knockoffs? -
New stuff from Tamiya Japan
barney buggy collector replied to Chain Driven's topic in General discussions
i dont mind the 501,most buggies that are aimed at competition dont look that good, but they do do the job well.the 501 looks like it is designed to be run with silly wind motors to try take the title from the Bj4 etc.which i hope tamiya acomplishes.the high downforce wing and sleek body are just part of a race package. i think cooling vents arent legal for electric racing, although im not 100% on this. hopefully a competition 2wd is next,i mean, the tamtechs get a slipper etc but the 1/10 buggies dont.as far as race 2wd buggies go, there are losi and associated,so i race a B4. -

F-350 High Lift owners test / quiz
barney buggy collector replied to DJTheo's topic in General discussions
i had the wife searching the parts trees etc and i grabbed the decal sheet and the nitro motor was about the only really odd thing i could find. with the 4 link mounts supplied, could that be a hint as to a 4 link version in the future maybe? -
F-350 High Lift owners test / quiz
barney buggy collector replied to DJTheo's topic in General discussions
it wouldnt be the little picture of the nitro motor with GP on it on the bottom of the decal sheet would it? or the shift gate templates? -
i sort of knew i should have taken a bit of notice as to why the 2 bearings were glued.oh well, ill get to have another stickybean inside and work out an easy way to remove the gearbox for in the future.im glad someone mentioned it as i could have destroyed bits.thanks guys.

i couldnt see the point in superglueing the bearings in on that step.i used bearings and not bushes.maybe i had better glue them before i run it.
