  1. Well I'm really looking for a hotshot 2 or a 959 although a bigwig would be more than welcome as I've just risked buying a decal sheet on the hope it will receive the re-re treatment sooner or later.

Shortly before 6: 00pm on Monday 29th April 2013, a 14 year old boy was playing with his remote controlled car outside of Priestly School, Prince Charles Drive in Calne.

Three boys approached him, picked up the car and ran off in the direction of Abberd Way. The victim was left shaken and upset.

The remote controlled car is a black Hyper 10 Nitro Touring car with an illuminous green aerial and a black tip. It is valued at approximately £300.

The three boys are described as white, aged 18-21 years, of average build and were wearing dark jackets. One had long hair which was plaited and tied back, another had a mohican hair style and the third had short blonde hair.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the location of the remote controlled car is asked to contact PC Steve Martin on 101.

    Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

  3. I think that's the magic of re-re's, they entice you into cars that you never wanted as a boy, but have nostalgic memories of them none the less.

I've bought loads of cars that I didn't have/want as a lad. Now that £100-200 isn't the MASSIVE deal that it was when I was 14, buying these things purely from a 'tamiya catalogue nostalgia' perspective is so much fun. Me and best mate would spend hours pouring over the catalogues, analysing the intricate details of each car down to a fine point and doing the whole 'if my dad won the pools I'd have XYZ' thing.

Absolutely spot on! As I kid I was doing paper rounds, mowing lawn and car-washing and all sorts to fund my off-road RC racing...I never wanted anything other than race kits and upgrades.

Got my first kit as a combined Christmas and birthday present, then swapped traded all sorts of things for different models within the clubs I raced with.

For example one of my cars (may be been one of the hotshots but tbh I really can't remember) was a straight swap for a skateboard and some stupidly expensive wheels lol..that then got flipped for another car after a while.

Now I'm "grown up" with money to burn I'm loving the hobby all over again... Was out in the garden last night with MissB playing with Lunchbox and Midnight pumpkin, we had an absolute hoot.
