  1. UPDATE:[] I found a King Cab on eBay a while back with a Thorp Ball Diff, bought the truck and striped it down (chassis was a mess, kept the good parts for spares) and started rebuilding the trans on my other K.C. Still in the working stage, will know how it runs soon. I thought the tranny looked like the same shape and size of a RC-10 tranny. Will have to look for a used one as a back-up. Thanks for all the ideas, I hope this helps someone else down the road.
  2. ok, I have some hex hubs on order and have ordered the diff housings to rebuid the other diff. Now just have to wait out the delivery time[]id="Comic Sans MS">
  3. [^]I think it's great that you have this meet coming together, I do have a suggestion for the next one(I am just now reading all the messages in this forum) it might be a good idea to have the meet travel to different states each year, I know it would make it a little tougher, but it would allow those of us who live further out of having a chance to make one of these events. I live in North Carolina, so driving to Conn. is a long ride. I know there is a good R/C shop about an hour from me that has an indoor carpet oval and an off-road track outside to use. Just a thought. Can't wait to see the photos from the inaugral event!id="Comic Sans MS">
  4. I will try the diff grease, I thought the grease might be a problem, but the directions tell you to grease the diff. I will get some diff grease and try it. (Wireless, thanks for the suggestion, but the tires have been glued to the rims, so they wouldn't roll off the rim)[] Keep the suggestions coming, I'll post any results or problems that come up with this topic.
  5. []I have just rebuilt my diff for my King Cab, I followed the directions and the truck does not take off when I hit the gas, it will get up to speed after a few seconds and run fine. The motor sounds like it is just spinning and the truck will slowly start moving. I checked the gear mesh and everything is making good contact. Can anybody help me on this? Anybody know of any other alternatives to the stock transmission for this vehicle? I remember finding a web site that had belt drive trannys that fit the King Cab, but I can't remember the site to save my butt[] If anybody knows of it, please tell me, I want to find an alternative to the stock ball diff in these trucks.
  6. I need some help with parts for the king cab, I have 2 and they both need some work, I remember seeing a site the had belt drive trannies that worked but can't remember the site name. I have enough parts to rebuild the one, but the other one, had a broken metal hub that held the diff together and I could only salvage the one side. I also need to find the hex hubs that fit to the drive shafts for the rear wheels. I am missing a set for one truck.I would really appreciate any help on this matter.
  7. I have a Chevy S-10 (TA-02) and was wondering if anybody could tell me how I can get rid of the excessive play in the front end. The front wheels move a good deal from toe-in to toe-out. Is there any hop-up parts I can llok for, or another car's linkage I can adapt to it. This is my first chassis like this. Also looking for any hop-up parts that can be used on this chassis. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the ideas, I am in the process of taking both apart, the one from the Ebay truck has some serious damage to some parts. The other appears to just need some shims and a cleaning, I am going to use the good parts from both and look for replacements later. Time to make a shopping list![xx(]
  9. Hi, I just got a sweet deal on a king cab off of Ebay and I have one that was given to me. The problem is both have fried ball diffs. Is there any way to fix them or am I stuck trying to track down parts to fix them with. Any help would be appreciated. If anybody knows where to find the parts, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
