  1. mine is to finish all the outstanding half finished projects like voyager, salvage the aliens apc and then move on to buying a Tamiya 1/16 full option tank and then a big rig either the scania or man full option at some point then I have just about 1 of every style going. ummmm also to find a new job, find a better house win the lottery and start paying for mine and the mrs wedding in vegas as I proposed to her on her birthday on the 11 December did I say win the lottery lol
  2. looking good there bud, don't worry about the paypal thing the wheels were a gift
  3. yep bud that's the plan esp as they are plain metal so a good dose of primer and some more desert camo should do the trick
  4. as promised heres the pics with the grill and light rusting done now:
  5. well update today the new metal rubber bearings are in now and the whole thing sounds a lot better with no grumbling like the plastic nasty things Tamiya supply and everything feels much tighter than before bonus also ive done a little more detailing on the body mainly the windows painting the rubber surrounds and now the the weathering oils have dried I can get on with the light rust weathering now. I have also tidied up the wiring for the lights so its not so much of a mess, ill post the pics up of the shell tomoz it is looking a lot better now the mask is off the windows, ill also start on the chrome grill and get that painted up and weathered then its waiting for bits to turn up again!!!! I did have a thought today though after I replaced the bearings that it was a waste of time for most of it as the new metal diffs etc are sealed and already have metal bearings in doh!!!! oh well I got a little spanner time so all was not lost
  6. thanks skottoman like ive said its got a long way to go yet, but the hop ups are now turning up the light kit that came with it was very billy basic so I thought why not use the full on light kit, I need to crack on with the rops so I can get the spotlights on hopefully the metal diffs and front skid pan etc will be here asap so I can get the underside weathered up brom I don't have either shells to try with the interior but I don't think it would like right anyhow as the mogs interior is old skool curvy and round where as the hilux is square and functional shame I don't now anybody that has these shells either to try
  7. well look what turned up today the rubber sealed bearings :-/ guess what im doing tomoz now lol
  8. at least it was leg end and not bell end typo :-/ lol
  9. just found this http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67746
  10. Hpi have some nice shells, abc hobby from japan have some nice scale shells thats where i got my 69 skyline shell from not cheap though. Or try ebay for ideas 1/10 rc shell or 1/10 rc body should bring up some ideas etc bud
  11. cheers mike loads to do yet :-/ lol
  12. my plan was to drop the rear bed down where it should be then build the rops in to that, was going to use styrene to make a tub then detail it up. it realy does look daft the way Tamiya have molded the rear on this shell it wouldn't of took much to have made a proper bed. now I have the chassis done I can see what clearance I have on the floor.
  13. oh dear sideways what car do you have that the turbo has gone on? I cryied like a scalded school girl when my turbos went on mitsi vr4 the only light was it did eventualy get fixed by the garage after a cort case and trading standards threw there weight about. points to not any body in the east yorks area be very wary of a garage called ebony and ivory sepecialies in jap imports near Scunthorpe his warrantys are not worth the paper there printed on well today payed off all my credit cards and now sulking been and bought some e liquid for my e cigg and now got all afternoon to tinker with project mog and the mrs is out working so stealth orders on the way
  14. I was going to paint the underside funnily enough and put the convoy plate and light on ill do that after the hop ups turn up for it as I need to strip it down again for the bearings etc brom but yeah its defo not staying gloss black and I haven't finished the weathering yet and got the chrome to paint up and a bit of detailing on the rubber strips around the windows. I was thinking of leaving the cab intact and just do the bed with the rops and gun mounts as I don't think I could pull of the interior. ill try knock an interior up before I chop the cab. steve there was a light kit supplied with the kit but it only gave you 2 white lights for the front and 2 red lights for the back I had a spare light kit lying around so used that as it came with the 3mm orange lights for the indicators where the supplied kit came with 5mm leds. plus the one im using now has plenty of spare ports for the extra lighting that's going on with the spots. oh and the supplied kit was lights on or off no flash and no brake lights etc where as this kit obviously has the indicators, reverse, and brake light function along with other flashing settings if you where to use for a drift car for example.
  15. so heres a couple more pics of where im at now ive got the shell and the basic lights sorted and a short vid of the first run to check the lights works ive got the chrome to paint up desert colour yet and more detailing to get the required look and heres the video
  16. cheers steve so glad you pointed that out ref the reduction thing I didn't even think about that with the motor doh!
  17. sorry steve lol that's karma for the salt in the wound comment earlier on in the thread lol noob alert which motor has more torque the 55t or the 35t? I don't want speed I want pulling power and the beef to pull itself out the hoggin
  18. okie dokie looks like im getting a 3:1 reduction kit and motor aswell :-/ still got the styrene and brass tubing to get aswell lol oh how im going to be in the dog house lol oh well
  19. is this what you guys are on about? http://store.rc4wd.com/Gear-Reduction-Unit_c_28.html
  20. hey sideways thanks for the link the have some nice shinnies on there and a couple of bits I overlooked like the ally front scrape guard and ally motor mount and gear set hmmmmm!!!!!! that will be a stealth order I think out of sight of the mrs lol percymon ill go have a look at rc4wd now and a gander at that reduction gear set :-/ this is getting expensive lol Tamiya should supply a fully fitted hop up kit an a limited scale to save all this trawling lol
  21. cheers brom can you recommend a decent 35t 55t motor that's good with the teu105 Tamiya esc or a motor esc package.
  22. is that for extra droop on the axle brom? i was considering the extension kit for the rear diff but not sure if mine needs it as its not going to be getting hammered off road just general playing with. im going to go have a look at the motors mentioned above aswell and the reduction kit, do i stayed brushed or go brushless?
  23. I was getting the rubber sealed bearings bud theres an option on the listing for rubber or normal bearings. thanks for the advice though bud infact im going to check now to make sure I did order the rubber ones. just checked the bearings I ordered and the link above was the wrong listing heres the listing that I used to order the bearings heres the correct listing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251398122574?var=550322021888&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
